Hey, just letting you know I’m no longer MIA. And have sent you messages about the mod… Just let me know when you can talk.

[temporarily shut down, might return, when there is demand for the source code of the race support generator, there is no point in publishing Starbound mods on git if the source can be viewed anyway]

I really don’t care at all if anything is broken or not, some stuff contains drafts and stuff so have fun.
I also removed the binaries for the race support tool, compile it yourself, I don’t want to maintain a Windows compiler just for this stupid thing.
There is one mod missing in the repository, I am not certain if I can bring up the motivation to upload it, but it was something useless anyway.

I’m just gonna throw in the changelog now.

Changelog

GUTF Update

  • Bug fixes

    • Fixed a bug where the time for a comfort increase isn’t applied correctly
  • Items

    • A tracksuit set has been added, which increases comfort gain if the full set is worn
      • For the effects to work, equip it through Big Fatties menu, please make sure that the sub-menu accessible through the wrench icon (that is, if there even is one) stays clear, as it overrides your clothing options
  • Others

    • Cleaned up a bit of the code
    • Merged the drug add-on into the main mod
      • This makes the mod a requirement for servers now, if you plan on using it (unless you settle on not touching any of the items GUTF adds)!
    • Released the Frackin’ Universe patch

This is probably my worst and most stupid project I’ve ever done, I am not sure if I’ll ever pick this up again, probably when I’m really bored I’ll touch it again.
Now, time for me to go away, again.

Okay, so… seeing what I posted the past few months I can tell that I am insane and had lost my mind.

Taking a break for like 2 months definitely helped me restore my mind and common sense and I can tell that somewhere starting at when I opened the discord server I was turning into an insane asshole, to put it simply.

I’m definitely not that kind of person that writes long texts, but I want to say sorry for what there happened. I’m looking forward to getting back on track and restoring things to what they used to be, including closing the discord server and likely the repository too. To not have things loop all over again and leading to me acting like shit, I’ll go and be a bit less active on here, but I will look forward to developing mods again. Again, I’m sorry for what happened there, I’ll try to make things right.

Yeah, I’ve seen a fair few examples of Discord servers becoming Echo chambers where good people become rather self-absorbed. Good to see you’re coming back though, Mods for BF are always a treat

Hey Myantha, if you see this, I’m curious as to why you decided to remove the download links when you decided you were done. If you don’t want to answer, that’s fine by me, but I did really want to use this mod.

Do ya still have the mods available for download somewhere? I’d like to try out GUTF, if you don’t mind linking.

I’ll be honest with y’all, I’ve been unable to run Steam for the last couple of months so there’s not any significant progress

But… did you at least figure out why you cant start steam?

Well yes that was clear to me from the very beginning
If I don’t run Windows, macOS or even Linux it’s quite obvious where the issue is

While the update for GUTF is still being worked on, I’ve decided to rewrite the Race Support Generator in another language (Rust) yesterday, it even has a GUI now which for some people might be easier to work with.
There have been a few changes in the generation process, mostly just fixing some typos.
The whole application has also been renamed to Species Support Generator.
This release doesn’t have a Linux version, there shouldn’t be any issues running this with Wine however. If people want a native version for Linux they should just tell me.

The download link can be found here or at the top of this topic

EDIT: Removed the .ico file, now there’s only one file to download.

Stupid question, but how does one use the Species Support Generator?

From the screenshot, I believe we write the name we want to go on the mod, then type in the name the game directory recognizes as the name of the species, and then what the species’ name actually is. You would have to either hope the internal name is easy to guess, or take a look under Starbound’s hood to see the name of it.

Exactly like that, the name that is put under “Author” will appear in the author section of the mod, the most important thing is to just get “Species (Internal)” right, please note that it is case-sensitive.

The PNG files it creates are just dummy files, however I am working on image generation.

Also the rewrite is actually untested in-game, so if there are any crashes please report them as I don’t have time to check it for myself at the moment.

EDIT: Sorry, brain fart, I meant “Species (Internal)” not “Species (In-Game)”, I’ve corrected it.

Thank you for this tool, it’s extremely helpful. For whatever reason, Windows can’t mass rename portions of file names according to logic like a Mac can, leading to having to edit all of the files one by one instead of all at once. This save a LOT of time.
