//ABOUT:
After chewing on some mysterious gum, Trisā body starts to behave unnaturally, as well as the world around her. Will she ever find a way to get back to normal? Will anyone help her? Or will she [TOPIC NOT FOUND]
Itās definitely a different direction from my usual content, but donāt worry cause I am still adding in fun homages to my tradition styles. For example, THE will be playing with glitches (or breaking the 4th wall) so there will be some minigames and fun additions as new versions are added. Also, Voluptuous Fantasy is being developed too and has my signature style to it!
In every renpy game or really visual novel in general I play the first thing I do is open the settings and set text speed to maximum, aka, I prefer instant text.
I donāt like to see text appearing bit by bit, I find a guideline for reading distracting (I already know how to read )
If itās too complicated to add a setting for text speed to the game, any chance it could just default to instant instead of scrolling slowly (moderately fast but still slow compared to instant?)
slash is there anyone out there who enjoys watching the text scroll onto the screen?
Iād get it if it was a visual novel about a magical pen or a magical book and there was like a plot reason to have to read in this manner, but if iām just reading a story, why arenāt the words on the screen when I start reading a section?
Edit: Oh also the textbox does cover the renders sometimes in a way that makes me want to hide the textbox for a better look at some pants, it might be nice there was a hide ui hotkey, TLDR: sorry for whining about renpy features Iām addicted to
Edit2: If you manage to add a hideUI button, instant text, AND a screenshot hotkey that you put in the next patreon only build, thatād definitely get a sub out of me Otherwise I am not sure I am in a huge rush to enjoy 0.2 when QoL might in my imagination be around the corner making fall 2024 a better time to play more of the game, or whatnot.
The Heft Effect uses my own visual novel generator through Unity instead of Renpy since I am more comfortable with it and have more control over things. (For example: in V0.2 there are āglitch effectsā and minigames.)
All of your recommended additions are great! And I can definitely add them in for some quality of life. (The āscreenshotā option may be a bit more difficult since I have never done that before, but Iām sure itās easier than I think it is.)
Also, on a side note, V0.2 does include a Gallery where you can revisit moments in the story. I do plan on releasing new versions each month for Patrons, and the first few versions will be available on Itch for free over time as well (I plan on releasing a full build like Savoring Sword for Itch and Steam later in the future) Patreon allows me to make full games and gives Patrons updates throughout the progress, among other things. I like to try test my skills as a game developer by making all of my games unique, fun, and original from each other
Again, thank you so much for the feedback! Itās my first time attempting to make a visual novel, as well as 3D model designing and posing, so itās refreshing to hear that itās turning out well!
@namad I was able to easily add instant text, as well as hiding the UI by clicking Tab. So those will be added to V0.3 (In V0.1, you can fast forward through text by holding Shift) I am having some difficulties adding screenshots tho
