Neon Fantasies is my attempt at recreating the beloved Tainted Elysium. I plan on implementing a lot more content, a small life sim system, basic combat (may evolve later), and much more. I have a working body system that’s comparable to TE’s body system, and I plan on doing more with it soon.
There is gas/burp/fart content, which for the most part can be disabled in the kink settings in the main menu for now. something might have slipped through the cracks but I think I caught it all.
I’d love to hear opinions on what’s there too!
It’s available to play on my website, as well as the itch.io page, and I’ve set up a page on the new WG wiki:

TL;DR at the bottom
Alright so first off, I think I need to explain where I went for like almost 3 years.
If you don’t know me, I was the guy creating the game NEON, which was supposed to be a successor to a good old game called Tainted Elysium. But, I kinda just dropped off the face of the planet back in mid 2023. Between life, undiagnosed ADHD and some other neurodivergent stuff made it insanely hard for me to motivate myself to do anything. I was also unemployed and had unknowingly surrounded myself with people who enabled that behavior.
Since then, I’ve been medicated for ADHD, made some healthy lifestyle changes, going back to college and working part time on the side. I’ve also been fully recreating NEON in my spare time, hoping to finally make the game I wanted to in the first place.
Enter Neon Fantasies.
I’ve learned a lot more about programming, specifically python and GDScript in Godot. I’m keeping feature creep in check this time around, and I’ve even found a Godot plugin that lets me draw and animate vector art. That part is super exciting since TE’s body system used shape tweening in flash, which until now I never found a proper way to recreate without immense amounts of work.
I decided this time around to recreate the core systems and interactions that TE had before I really go on to do the crazy stuff I have planned. I’m also focusing heavily on making systems scalable so that I don’t have to go retrofit my code later with more spaghetti.
What I have now isn’t an insane amount, but I’ve got more done than I ever did with the legacy version of NEON, which code wise was an absolute disaster. With the new version, I also have the ability to quickly add more of certain bits of content without causing any disruption to the rest of the systems.
I’m pretty proud of what I’ve got here, and I plan on adding more soon, but school work is piling up and I want to shift my focus to that for a little bit. I planned on having the initial version of this out last September, but I was unhappy with what I had and started fresh with a better knowledge of programming.
I even learned how to use Cloudflare so I could host it myself, letting me keep it off of Itch and hosted entirely on my own website. This also means I can add some kind of mobile support in the future too.
TL;DR if you don’t wanna read this (don’t worry I wouldn’t either lmfao):
Mental health issues can kick rocks, I’m now medicated, NEON is now Neon Fantasies, and I have the motivation to continue working on it once I catch up on college stuff.
ORIGINAL POST:
Oh hey there.
NEON is a 2D Sprite Based weight gain life sim with visual novel elements, all done in Unreal 4. At the moment, it’s super early on in development, but I’ve managed to get more than 2 lines of code written so I’m already winning in my books.
In it’s current state, It’s almost not just a glorified tech demo anymore. I just need to get around to building a few more systems and polish the game a little bit and it’ll feel like an actual game.
Planned Features
-Fleshed out weight gain system.
-Inflation system
-Combat system that involves using your weight to your advantage.
-Romanceable characters that can have their weight change throughout their story.
-Life simulator aspect (jobs, player home, etc.)
-Basic needs
-Transformations (horns, tails, cat ears etc.)
-Diverse customization.
-probably like 30 other things I’m forgetting lmao
V0.2 Changelog
Changelog
-Reworked entire dialogue and event system to be similar to the original 3d version (more of a Visual Novel style instead of the info dump)
-Modernised controls! (WASD and arrow key movement are now the way you move around.)
-Combat has been disabled for the time being (I’m going to put a lot more time into the backbone of the combat system this time around)
-Reworked the entire UI to make it consistent with pixel art style.
-Added new inventory system that doesn’t completely suck!
-Added music that changes depending on where you are on the map.
-Disabled the Tree event until next update.
-Added animation to the player character! (The sprite character will have some customization at some point)
-Added first face sprite for Himiko.
-Probably like 7 other things that I’m forgetting about
