"Oh Deer, Someone's Home" (fatfur horror game)

screen1

“Oh Deer, Someone’s Home” is a horror game created by us at Fractured Sleep, intended to be a simple “first game.” In it, you play as an obese doe named Plaine Belle as she hides from a stalker who broke into her house. The game is extremely freeform, allowing you to choose how you want to tackle hiding from the stalker, with the only things holding you back being your own knowledge of Plaine’s house.

Loved it! Managed to win after figuring out how noise affects the chance of a game over. Is there only one ending?

There is a second secret ending, but it requires both being as stealthy as possible and being a little bit gutsy.

How stealthy are we talking, if you don’t mind me asking? I managed to get it without the floor creaking and it was the same old ending.

I did the same thing except I forgot to lock the door I was hiding behind. It got me a picture of her hiding behind a wall holding a gun. Apparently that’s what FracturedSleep meant by “gutsy”.

I got it! I’ve noticed its a bit random if you’re found or not but I think I got lucky one run, really cool

I just wanna say, holy crap, the sheer tension that this game provides, where you are at a huge(badum-tiss) disadvantage against your stalker, and having to figure out how to best go about hiding yourself, it’s nuts how tense this is. Especially if you don’t lock the doors behind you.
Just pure dread as everything comes to a standstill, ears perking up for any sign of noise as the stalker roams around the house, distracted by your own traps, until time either runs out, or those peering eyes in the dark seal your fate…
Also the fact that they’ve already IN YOUR HOUSE is terrifying.
Awesome tiny experience.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to post an update, and thank everyone for how great the reception to “Oh Deer, Someone’s Home” has been! It has gotten to over 1,000 downloads, and it isn’t even fully finished yet. That said, I do intend to continue working on it, since I still don’t have the finalized music yet and I feel that there are some things that could be added into the game in a future update. I have another game that I’m starting to put together too, but I think that I’ll just go with something small-scale like how working on “Oh Deer, Someone’s Home” was.

Work has been stressful, and it was probably for the best that I published “Oh Deer, Someone’s Home” when I did. Having to work 10 hour days during the week is extremely rough, and I don’t think that I could have finished the music over this weekend. That said, I’m still working on providing the best quality game that I can provide, so look forward to the eventual 1.1 update that includes all of the music. Thanks to everyone who has donated as well, since I’m going to try and get Ableton when I get paid this Friday.

Version 2.1 is now live! (I skipped announcing 2.0 because of a small bug that I had to patch) This update changes the basement to be a laundry room that you can access on the same floor, as well as spawning the stalker in the laundry room, so check it out if you want a (slightly) different experience!

Oh also there’s another full-screen image that you can see by interacting with Plaine’s patio door in her kitchen.
