One Week in Mylgaarot Manor: A homebrew 5th-Edition (2014) adventure

Lady Zymandora has a problem. Her rivals in House Mylgaarot have undertaken a scheme to secure Lolth’s favour: rituals of gluttonous excess that please the Spider Queen’s Huntress-on-the-Web aspect. These rituals must be interrupted. Yet, worse than to see her enemies succeed would be for a failed attempt at sabotage to be traced back to her. Thus she seeks agents from further afield in the Underdark, even upon the surface, to whom she can contract this dangerous yet lucrative work. That’s where you come in.

Will include: Stuffing, belly inflation, mild-to-moderate weight gain, vore, mind control, & corruption. Belly-focused kinks will take precedence over outright weight gain, though the latter will of course be present. The game is run by a trans woman, and will include trans NPCs. Transphobes and chasers need not apply. Recruitment will remain open until the 1st of August or until a full party is assembled, whichever occurs sooner.

Sessions will take place on most Tuesdays each month until the adventure is complete, subject to my availability and beginning no earlier than the 4th of August. Each will take place from approximately 6pm-10pm EDT (GMT-4) to accommodate the slower pace of text-only online play. Reasonable considerations will be made for missed sessions, but players consistently unable to attend will be replaced to maintain the game flow and balance. The adventure will be played through roll20 with a dedicated discord server for out-of-character matters.

Mylgaarot Manor is a mini-megadungeon. A living environment with its own internal factions and politics. Where care must be taken not to bring down too much attention at any one time. Where the problems presented are not mere puzzles with correct solutions, rather obstacles players are left to resolve using their own wits, the quirks of their character builds, and by taking advantage of elements in the environment around them. Forward intelligence will be provided on prime targets and other key figures within the Manor.

The dungeon (indeed, the whole adventure!) reacts and adapts to players’ choices and the characters’ actions. Players must be proactive and imaginative, both willing & able to think outside the box. Straightforward room-clearing dungeoneering is not the correct approach. Rather, the party must investigate the environment, play NPCs off of one another, and choose their outright battles most carefully. The mercenary nature of the party and the adventure make it trivial to replace individual problem characters or players as needed. The adventure will last for no more than 7 adventuring days.

Just as your characters must prove themselves to Zymandora to earn this contract, so must players demonstrate their suitability through an application process. This will require the following:

  • A feature-complete 9th-level character build. This includes class, subclass, ancestry & background, as well as fighting style, choice of weapons, and a shortlist of signature spells, as appropriate. Bonus equipment options and other elements of customization will be addressed upon character approval.

  • An in-character pitch to Zymandora to illustrate their suitability for the mission. This should touch on several past adventures suitable to an adventurer of 5th-9th level, as well a the core skills they bring to the mission. Approach this with the style, voice, and effort you will bring to the adventure.

  • A summary of the player’s previous tabletop experience. Those new to tabletop games or to D&D 5E will NOT be considered. Familiarity with a variety of tabletop systems is an asset.

To reiterate, this game will be run in 5th Edition (2014). The complete list of approved source books is as follows: PHB, VGM, TCE, XGE. Spells from other 5E sourcebooks MAY be approved on a case-by-case basis. Simple custom rules will be used for stuffing, weight gain, and vore, modelled on status conditions rather than adding tons of new math.

(Note: Applications must be submitted through the link provided here. Applications received in any other way will NOT be considered.)

Color me interested - submitted an application on the google form.

submitted something - looks fun!

Due to the time-limited nature of the adventure (being seven full adventuring days at the most), short rests are not a decision to be taken lightly. Similarly, the entire party will long rest together when a long rest is taken. Anyone seeking to play a coffeelock may wish to keep these things in mind.

Contemplating this, but I’ll be having a guest over for most of August. Although I would like to teach her how DnD works. IDK

There are probably better ways to teach her that, than to have her sit in on 9th-level online game which already presumes familiarity with the system.

IIRC, isn’t the coffeelock strat disproven by official sources being like, you only regain Warlock spell slots on your short rest and you can’t use those spell slots to refill Sorcery Points/Slots?

Fair enough. Either way, I hope you all have fun!

Uncertain what any official rulings say. That kind of exploit would not work in this game, regardless.

This looks interesting. I’ll be writing up my in-character pitch.

Hmm. Hmm…

I will look into making/adapting a character for this. Sounds interesting, and I have quite a library of designs from as far back as the late '00s.

ETA: This build has way too many Cantrips.

Second ETA: Alright, I submitted something.

Just finished my submission, Underdark megadungeon shenanigans sounds like a blast

This adventure sounds like fun, I’ll send my post over.

By the way, sorry for forgetting the tools proficiencies, would it be okay for me to resubmit to fix that mistake or no?

No need! The finer points of character creation will be hammered out once players are selected.

Truth be told, most submissions have thus far been of the same three classes. So there will be no small amount of changes made before the party is all locked in.

Non-combat-focused Role-Playing shenanigans have a tendency to target two fairly specific classes = P

And there’s nothing super wrong with that, because they can both be extremely flexible in play style.

Thanks for letting me know!

Tempted to apply, but I’m worried about that mention of the same three classes. I’ll still submit a form, but I apologize in advance if I just end up being another duplicate lol.

Class duplicates are not an issue! The adventure is flexible in how much the party leans on social/exploration/combat. As well: boons and custom backgrounds offered in character creation will help to differentiate further, and consumable items around the dungeon can help cover such omissions as a dedicated healer.

Worst comes to worst, a promising applicant with an insufficiently distinct role in the party will simply be asked to iterate on their character concept, or else submit one that fits another role in the party.

Tangentially, I will be reaching out to a few prospective players to hammer out a little more about their characters, and such. Final decisions on party members Have Not yet been made, so don’t worry if you don’t hear from be before the deadline.

I have high hopes to get in! I put in Dani, but I have other ideas for characters if the party doesn’t need a healer.

Sent one just in case you needed fillers/extras
