This is my first game, and I want to make something where simply adding more content with a bit of a twist can go a long way. I’m learning everything as I go, but the art side of things has been the biggest struggle. I’ll be using AI to help with that, though even with assistance, I might still need help… because somehow, I manage to make everything I touch look awful.
As for the premise of the game (hopefully I don’t go into too much detail): you’ve been in an accident, and after recovering, you move to a faraway city to look for a new job as a recent college grad. Fast forward through the plot armor of “irresistible charm,” and you find yourself just there wandering into opportunities. You’re kind of looking for them, but they mostly just happen. Life is moving for everyone around you, and somehow, you go from being a stranger… to a friend… to someone who gets people to pack on the pounds and enjoy life with you.
The tone is meant to be mostly realistic. If anything stretches the bounds of reality, it’ll be framed as a dream, fantasy, or fainting spell. I want the characters to have personality and romance, with real relationships that evolve over time.
I wouldn’t call myself a master storyteller, but I can pull something together. For me, it’s not about the ending, it’s about how the characters get there. The different personalities interacting is the part I’m excited about. And, sure tight clothes are part of the fun—but mainly, it’s about the story.
I’ve played quite a few games in this genre, and I won’t pretend I won’t be influenced by them. It’s impossible not to be. But I’ll do my best to keep things original. If you have any tool recommendations or software I should look into, I’d appreciate it. I can learn most things, ideally nothing that requires a lot of drawing.
The current plan is to use AI as much as possible for visuals, start writing and developing the story for a mini demo, and if that goes well release something by the end of the month. If that also goes well, I’ll start looking into what tools I’ll need next and maybe try to scrounge up some funds for better equipment. Unfortunately, I’m on an AMD GPU… and NVIDIA CUDA still rules the world.
For picture samples and stuff and things I am going to work on that later on and make that more or less a future problem once work flow is figured out.
For now please give me feedback or anything basically and then I will slide out more details as everything is hashed out and I will look here about every couple of days.
