P*kem*n Lard: A fatty centric P*kem*n region (QoL UPDATE!!!!!)

To be honest, not sure. Ive been editing it in parallels on my mac so I think it has to do with the compression system. I’m not touching it.

Will work on fixing this in the first bugfix patch, as well as changing Icexy’s sprite name so it actually works lol

So, where do the events and items happen? And where’s the forest?

The forest is between route 1 and the city. There’s a fatty event in the first town in the shack, if you explore a little, and in the city there are some things to check out in the factory and next to the gym.

You get items to make your trainer fatter from gym leaders.

Should be fixed now, download the new version if you encountered this issue and start a new save

It is a crazy idea the can be fun but design of the Pokémon are crazy like having elgyem be a dark and bug type with the ability alien blood.

Interesting game! Haven’t played much (like 60 mins maybe), as there isn’t much to do as of now, but it feels pretty faithful to the original games. Nice music and sounds, fitting dialouges and sprites.

Though I gta say, that the current pokemon roster isn’t really my thing, I think you did a good job with the sprites. In case you do plan on expanding the roster, I will throw in my suggestion of eeveelutions and drake type pokemon, as I am a big fan of them.

All in all though it’s a great game, allthough in an early game (duh, demo). Especially recommended if you are into fungoid appearances!

I’m not sure I follow, you like the game but think that elgyem is too broken/too weird?

One of the main things I’m looking to add in the future would be a standard lizard pokemon, Gholdengo kind of does that but not to the extent I’m pleased with. Maybe a resprite of hydriegon will catch your fancy. Take a look at the planning document with the full dex on it, if you haven’t. No eeveelutions planned (I really really don’t like their designs and I have no clue how to make fatty versions of them) but maybe a similar concept of a little fella that has a bunch of different fetish themed evolutions could definitely make it.

i have a potential idea for the game in the future if its possible

Pokemon or trainers can fatten you if you lose or if you “succumb” to them (like a give up or just willingly accept it)

and maybe a immobile situation if you become too fat

if you can of course

this could work, however, as you obtain badges the inmobile weight meter would increase. Like you could become inmobile if your character gains 300lbs at the start, but ,by the end of the game, (with all 8 badges) your character would have the weight limit of the blob in the home at the very beginning.

Interacting in this spot in the lab causes a crash with this error message:

Script ‘Interpreter’ line 177: EventScriptError occured.
EventScriptError

And idk if this pre-existed in the framework or something but “occured” is also misspelled, it should have 2 "r"s (occurred)

by default, arrow keys, enter, and shift are the main keys, with esc z, and x being also useable. Not my keybinds, but it’s the default for essentials.

Alright. After playing for a bit, and still unable to beat the first gym leader (and not wanting to reset the game after putting in a few hours worth of grinding trying to beat them), I think got my thoughts together.

The game is an interesting premise, for sure, but the grammar and spelling issues definitely take me out of it, some of the jokes don’t really land that well, and I feel more conveyance would help.

Normal battles feel fine, but some of the trainer battles feel just astronomically hard for the first chunk of the game. Getting my ass kicked by a level 12 Parasect (something I can’t even get) was a bit jarring… And especially the gym leader.

My first suggestion, gameplaywise, would be to include what types the starters are when you’re picking them, and the usual sort of ‘this gym uses X type’ sign or person around to help out with the conveyance. Like, if he’s a fire type or whatnot.

Also, I still, for the life of me, cannot find where this forest is. I feel I’ve went across all of Route 1 for grinding, and still couldn’t find an entrance to it.

If you got to the first gym, you already walked through it

Currently already have a build with a nerfed first gym, however not by much, just changed the maractus’ flamethrower to incinerate. Very few people had trouble with the trainer battles as far as I can tell, at least not since adding fighting type coverage to Wormice’s early learnset. I’m going to add type indications for the starters, since that’s something I missed, sorry. The forest is mosqwood, between the two towns. I’ll probably release a mini “difficulty reduction” update pretty soon, with the entrance to the next area offering higher level grinding targets and at least one water type pokemon, grimer. What grammar mistakes did you find? Gotta squash all those.
