Happy Halloween everyone! I recently got the privilege to work with a little over 20 amazing artists on this fun Buckshot Roulette clone for Halloween and I am happy to finally get to share it with everyone! The game over all is fairly simple, play the odds, don’t drink the red potions, and make sure you are (literally) the last one standing!
And here are some screenshots showing off the wonderful work some of the contributors did for this game!
Just played through it and LOVE that you can choose your character from the cast as well! Loved the sound effect at the end when the loser falls to the floor. Hoping for a gallery to show the sizes without the table in the way in the future!
(Also Valencia is probably my favorite, so many goodies in the choosable characters)
Pretty fun game! great art too!
Just wondering though, does the AI opponent just make random moves? I ask this because I’ve noticed that it will often make moves that put it at a disadvantage, even if it uses the potion that tells whether or not the potion is fattening, either giving itself the fattening potion or giving the player a non-fattening potion. In a similar way, it also doesn’t really seem to keep track of how many fattening/non-fattening potions there are.
this game seems like itd be fun but even the open gl version does not want to open. as someone inexperienced with computers i have zero clue how one opens this with those command prompts and in what order. i really hope the game is made more stable and easier to run before it starts getting updates that adds more features.
Also, i tried opening it through my command prompt and got a ton of errors, saying it failed to load, parse, decode or etc some resource. its a long list but i could send it in a msg text if so desired
Ya, the AI is actually really dumb. With the exception of using items most of its actions are generally just a coin flip. I debated maybe doing something more complex but due to the short turn around time I chose to focus on other features and polishing it up instead.
That being said I know a few people have been asking for some better AI so may see if I can squeeze that in in one of the planned updates.
Unfortunately, if you are running one of the apps that end with -opengl its very possible your PC doesn’t even support opengl and can not run the game. This is common if you have an older Intel CPU and no GPU. If you want, feel free to message me directly and I can look over those errors and your comp specs and let you know for sure.
Hey! I absolutely love the game. It reminds me of Don’t Fear the Jester, one of my all-time faves on the platform. Since I love POVs when playing these kind of games, I listed every female character that has a POV, in case anyone’s interested.
Calabra
Juna
Roxanne
Samantha Haine
Valencia
With this said, I still recommend checking all of the art by battling every character. Some of them are seriously cool.
i noticed that the smoke effect seems to be a common issue amongst all platforms, however it seems to get increasingly worse the bigger the game window is as when i full screen the game and it attempts to reveal the potion, it immediately crashes.
other then that pretty fire game, i hope to possibly see it continued in the future."
if any more mac builds are pushed out ill gladly inform of any changes/issues. (macOS Tahoe Version 26.0.1)

Ya It hit me a bit on occasion but was not as frequent on my PC so going to try to take some time to look into optimizing the particle system a bit better as well as add some options to help adjust/disable it.
