Project Atlas Update Character Quests Updated August 2025)

Thank you! Balancing all three Romonov’s introduction and Dawn’s own mini arc was a lot of work, but I think it came out fairly well! Hopefully people will enjoy this family’s side story through the game.

Glad the mutual is getting some love! I somewhat regret in hindsight not including any main male rebels for the game, so I wanted to start off Romonv’s gaining as quickly as I could!

Oh yeah, you can expect some more Slobby scenes from Dawn as Ava passes on her teachings!

Gains for Dawn will be identical on both routes.

Honestly a fair criticism and just a good idea. I don’t think I will be able to implement a map this dev cycle, but I’ll keep it in mind for later. Thanks!

If I could make a recommendation, maybe have the maps for each zone be in each train station. Would be a decent place to put them and having them separated by zone would avoid clutter. Side benefit is you could then also have all the maps progressively get worse material quality as you go ‘down’. Residential is a nice home registry, Uptown is a tourism guide with ads on the sides, Downtown is a bit rough and maybe has graffiti, and the Slums are straight up on a napkin someone threw up on a board.

If I make a weird complaint…
I don’t think I like the time scale being known in these sidequests.

I get why it is here, it helps the relationships grow naturally as with the weight gain. And being an alien planet, we don’t really need to worry about the passing of seasons or the like. Gaining 39 pounds in 3 weeks is fun~. But given the relative time-sensitivity of rescuing Amber’s brother, even with the pre-existing time skip that ensures he’ll be FUBAR’d for life, it still niggles at the back of my mind that we are wasting quite a lot of time on relaxation. There’s a lot to feel bad in this game, a healthy level of cognitive dissonance from the screwy morals of everyone, but skewed priorities always feel weird and hard to rationalize. By the time we finish these Act I sidequests, feels like we would have spent at least 3-4 whole months doing a lot of schmoozing.

Successful schmoozing of surprisingly high-level people for our rebels, but schmoozing nonetheless.

All that said, the sidequests have been fun to go through. It humanizes (lol) the main cast a lot. I even appreciate someone looking at Dawn and going “I can fix that” (in both senses). It’s always a little goofy that if they aren’t the cute little sister with the “incurable” illness who is the main hero’s raison d’etre, most series tend to treat someone with a limited timespan as “just let 'em die!”. Not even gonna bother healing them… It’s good to think Dawn isn’t as screwed as she is.

Can’t wait for the B.B. updatea.

Another great update! I’m really glad that Dawn is being put out of her comfort zone, and into someone else’s. The Romanov’s are such a wholesome family that even Dawn stood no chance, and that’s the way it should be. I somehow doubt that there would be any other way to get her to let her guard down. She might get fat for other reasons, but I bet that she wouldn’t be comfortable. I’m also glad that we are getting a nice mutual gain, especially since it comes with a budding romance as well. The slob aspects were well done as well.

Of course, I have to mention Kikomona as well. Not only does she have a top tier Milf design, but a doting personality as well. Its such a great combination! It might be just me, but I almost feel like her expression is a little sinister. When she is happy her face seems to be a little too intense for her personality. Like I said, its probably just me, but it makes me wonder if her species (the name escapes me) are manipulating humanity in the Outer Colonies to be fat and lazy as a way to blunt their capacity for violence/expansionism. Probably not, but its fun to speculate.

I’ll end this off with the obligatory but well earned praise of CJ. Good job!

What great suggestions! I love it, having the lower quality areas get worse and worse as you go. As for map placement I might want to put free versions in the train stations, but also have handheld ones for purchase.

Completely understandable complaint. Though to provide one explanation for it, Amber can’t really do much to find Jaden without Pythia’s help, and Pythia won’t help them until she’s been paid her tiny mountain of chips.

Also it is somewhat intended that all these quests are happening somewhat simultaneously, and that the gap between coming to Pythia’s and their first mission, is about 10-12 weeks total.

Thank you, so glad you liked it!

Haha, I didn’t even think of it like that, the fixing being two parts, but you are very right!

Thank you! I’m so glad people are finding Dawn’s first section so much fun! And I had a blast making the different members of the Romonov family, all with their own unique ways of fattening and/or getting fat with Dawn!

Dawn does have her other route coming later…but it is far less wholesome.

CJ did amazing work, top tier MILF designer should go on his resume! (Though I do think I demanded her ass fatter 2-3 times!)

Whhhhat, you crazy! I even named that expression “totally not evil smile”. See totally not evil!

Oooh, I do love a fun theory!

This is easily my favorite section of the game so far. I was already pretty sure that Dawn was the best character in the game, but this update cemented it.

Slob content was great, and the mutual gaining stuff is absolutely peak. Character development was extremely well done and surprisingly wholesome. I like how warm and cozy these side quests are in comparison to how dark the main story can get, it makes for a nice tonal contrast and keeps the game from feeling too one-note/depressing. (Even though the dark stuff is hot too.)

Really looking forward to seeing how big all these gals can get before the game is over, and what effect gaining so much weight is going to have on the narrative.

Amazing update all around!

Finished both Quest, per usual they were both great. And I’m lovin the CG for the girls
Thank you CJ !

Amber’s quest while the shorter of the 2 was a fun premise, being a training montage, which helped plump up the most malnutrition member of atlus to a l health weight, with eaching little training procedure having a present charm and creative approach (my personal favorite being the icecream mountain). It also introduced the mysterious Zoey who reveal at the end has me eagerly awaiting her return. Her and Ambers flirty relationship was also a highlight never expected Amber to be so forward.

Meanwhile Dawns upadate was a girthy one which work in it’s favour fleshing out all 3 new characters while leaving bit of mystery to explore later, while aslo exploring Dawn change in convictions as she goes from hating all humans, to falling for one. And becoming a part of his family. I thought the choice to have each family member contribute to Dawns weight gain was really intresting approach out of the 3, I’m torn between the slobby gains of Avas enabling and encouraging and exesive doting and forceful pampering of kikomona, on which I like the most.Other than this Dawn and Romans romance was excellent as the development of their relationship felt very natural and wholesome, with this side of Dawn being a pleasant surprise.

All I can say now is I’m thoughly excited for B.B to get her time in the spotlight.

I’m so so glad you liked it! I had a ton of fun putting this one together and felt proud of it by the end, so I’m glad people are loving it!

Woah, sounds like all the quest was a success on all cylinders! Don’t worry all future installments of the romonov quest will contain more slob, mutual, and wholesome content!

Happy to hear it! Though not all these sides quests will be quite so wholesome…as BB’s quest might soon show.

Here’s a spoiler on how big, BIIIIIIIIIIIIG.

I double this thanks to CJ, the games would not be nearly as awesome without him!

Thank you so much, I’m glad you liked it! I especially liked the excuse to put in a super catchy 80s training music score!

Oh trust Zoey will return…with ice cream!

It’s so good to hear how many people enjoyed the Dawn quest! Seems like the concept struck gold!

Don’t worry, you will get PLENTY more in the future!

This I am the most relieved to hear! It’s a delicate balance here, as if Dawn accepts Roman too quickly she seems like a huge hypocrite for how much she bashed humans before, but if she remains stubbornly against Roman’s obvious non-hostile intentions, she comes across as too stubborn and delusional.

Hopefully she came across as the perfect blend of initially aggressive but her distrust slowly melting away.

Thank you both (and everyone else showing their support) for the kind words and compliments it really means a lot!

I spent a few hours doing the new Dawn and Amber quests today. They were very good! I wasn’t expecting the Dawn one to be as involved as it ended up being. I felt Dawn’s story was more interesting than Amber’s, maybe because there are a lot of details in it and I think the relationship progresses at a more natural pace, where as the Amber one feels more sudden and a lot of the details are still a mystery. In addition, for Dawn I quite like familial drama, so having all the stuff with the Romanov family was nice.

I like Amber as a character more than Dawn, so it was a pleasant surprise to enjoy the Dawn story. The new characters (especially for the Dawn story), were a treat to see. I especially liked Roman.

As always, very nice art by CJ and writing by WaxerRed. The sprites were big, detailed, and a lot of times even animated. The full bust portrait art for the new characters were also very colorful, detailed, and expressive. Not to discredit the incredibly well-written dialogue and plot by WaxerRed!

I took screenshots of typos I noticed while reading, like I did before:

Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed them both, Dawn’s especially it sounds like! Not that I blame you, I think Dawn’s quest is one of the strongest in game, but I wouldn’t count the other’s out just yet!

Atlas is very much a team effort, I think CJ and I both know we couldn’t do it without each other!

Whew, thank you so much, this is super helpful I’ll get this fixed up by the time BBs update comes out.

And sorry to anyone reading this about the BB delay, I wanted Atlas done by the end of June and have Apostles started, but that hasn’t been in the cards, still have plenty of work left on BB to do before she’s ready. Sorry about that, we’ll keep at it until it’s done and make sure quality makes up for all delay!

After far too long, the BB update is ready! The release calendar being:

BB:
Executives: 7/31/2025

Groomed: 8/5/2025

Workers: 8/10/2025

Free: 8/20/2025

So sorry BB’s quest took so long to get together but the end result is quite substantial! Hope you all enjoy it when it comes!

After far to long it is finally here!

Once I again, I want to apologize for needing an extra month on this. While I do think the extra time did help to improve it I’m still a bit embarrassed to have so wildly missed the original deadline. Thank you to everyone for your support and understanding, I hope some big bellied BB content helps make the wait worth it!

Saves are already loaded in, 1 and 2 are right after Cowsons, 1 stole from the safe, 2 did not, and save 3 is after you leave Pythia for the first time.

To start BB’s quest, head to Uptown and go to the space ships! Check the notice board in Pythia’s room if you get lost.

Think that’s about it for now, enjoy!

Been a patron for a bit but wanted to review it when everyone had access to it, these are great starts to each of the character quests, I’ll review them to what I see is good to greatest

Amber, Get some Fries now: I enjoyed seeing her have the most blatantly sauce coated storyline with the eating contest and the way it remembers that she is a wanted criminal near the end, it’s only so low because it is the most straight forward of the quests so far, plus considering weight tiers (A Waxer C tiers is another games S tier) while overall Amber’s is just good, the fact that the lowest is just good should show why I think this is a great start to each of their stories(Plus, as a thick thighs man, the shorts were a great choice)

B.B, Girls just wanna have Funyuns: I really liked the fact that B.B got to let her hair down for her’s and the stuffing scene with the stomach expanding drug, the only three things that keep it from tying or surpassing Dawn’s story so far is 1. Kinda wished that when the scene with Taylor had him saying she shouldn’t be thanking him, wanted her to be like “Well I can do what I want, right?” have Taylor stammer but confirm and she says “Then I WANT to say thank you” as a show that she’s got a good heart and would be the type of person who would, hypothetically, break what’s expected of her to do what is right, allegedly :^) 2. The scene with the mech sitting in the dark garage kinda stang a little too much for the FIRST stage of her corruption correction, that gut punch really felt a little too early for my taste and I would have thought something like that should have been saved for stage 4-6 not when she is just starting to forget her roots and 3. I don’t like brattification or brat characters in general, and my guts telling me this is where it’s going, so hopefully I’m wrong but the highs of this quest made up for the low’s handily

Dawn, Can you feel the lard tonight: Cards on the table, in terms of why I like the weight gain kink, I love the feeling of having my partner so happy and content in my presence that she never even thinks about the fact she can’t walk anymore, even viewing walking as archaic cause of how well loved and happy I make her feel, I’m less of a degradationist “lard encrusted heart” type and more of a “Her soul is like her body, a warm marshmallow”. Dawn’s update doesn’t just hit my buttons, it lays it’s hands on the keyboard and presses down. I admittedly also liked learning that the Romanovs had claimed a piece in this dystopia(And the irony is not lost on me) and her character quest turned my least favorite character into my most favorite. Props to CJ since her blushy smile face melts steel beams with it’s charm. Admittedly another favorite trope of mine is taking in a starving girl from the streets and turning her into a plump pampered pet who worries for nothing, so the fact that that’s where her story seems to be going with the entire Romanov family seemingly wanting the best for her (Even if in their own ways) is dead on why I have a feeder kink in the first place, so I am extremely excited to see where Dawn goes in the future and always smile warmly whenever she brings up the Romanovs when talking, seeing the “Punch stuff or fuck off” catgirl who was the literal definition of racist have her heart grow three sizes that day and her prejudice challenged and annihilated, especially juxtaposed with a bitter cyberpunk world really makes the world of Project Atlas more of a place I would love to visit again soon (after the Apostles of course  )

Overall the character quests were great at laying the foundation of where the story is going and the interesting ways the revolution concept can be toyed with in a wg setting(Do they keep the fervor alive and overthrow their human oppressors or are they pampered aka the right side of history :^) I’d give Amber’s an 8/10, B.B’s a 9/10 and Dawn’s a 10/10 for sauce and story and I eagerly await the update

Tl;Dr: This face melts my heart like ice in the sahara

Thank you so much for your support both on patreon and here! Always glad to see your comments and reviews!

Amber:
Hey if the weakest is an 8/10 I must be on the right track! You are right though, I can admit in hindsight it is the weakest of the three. I think I went a bit too simplistic with her, as I wasn’t sure how I’d be doing these character quests. If I were to do it again, I would have had Amber and Zoey head around the city a bit more for the training.

I’ll be sure to make up for it next time Zoey and Amber’s story is continued!

B.B.: I may have to confirm your worst fears on this one, as B.B.'s story is going down a bit more of a brattification route. Amber, BB, and Dawn each have 2 separate quest routes, and for each one will be more ‘wholesome’ focused, while the other will be a bit more ‘corrupting’. Dawn’s was her wholesome route, while B.B.'s was her corruption. (Some people have been guessing if Zoey is a good or bad influence so I won’t reveal which route Amber had!)

Sorry if that makes BB’s route a bit less in your preferences, but BB’s still got a whole other route to weight gain that take a much more less corruptive approach. Even so I’m glad you enjoyed it especially the stuffing scene which was a last minute addition!

Dawn: I’ve seen most people say this was their favorite of the three, and to be honest I agree! The pieces just all really came together perfectly for that one. And I’m right there with you on loving the, “taking in a starving girl from the streets and turning her into a plump pampered pet who worries for nothing” as being one of the most fun tropes in the feeder space! It’ll be a fair bit with Apostles and all the other Atlas content, but I am eager to work on the Romonav plot again!

Thanks again for all your kind words and feedback! Always means a lot!

So BB’s update. I am extremely mixed on it for a few reasons.

  1. The character arc was extreme in a way that I really thought the twist was gonna be Taylor was using subliminal messaging or something. I get the idea, the change is so extreme because BB has some real big issues from her backstory, but it still felt like and insane switch. It makes BB seem like the most unstable of the group, which isn’t helped at the end when she calls out to Taylor. Again I get it, but it makes BB seem like an airhead at minimum.
  2. The flips between BB’s past and the present were jarring and went to far in the candy scene in particular. You have what is the most fetishy sequence of the route right after child BB is eating maggots in a rotten hamburger because she is hungry. What am I supposed to feel about that? I almost laughed honestly because it was just comedic how jarring it was.
  3. Taylor is just sad, and while I am glad he kind of doesn’t change (because that would feel double bad if BB actually got him to loosen up when that would get him killed with other masters) the intro does feel like BB is kicking a puppy sometimes. I wish that guilt would have played a part in her eventual want to let him do stuff for her, but it didn’t she just kind of gave in after a while.
  4. It was a drag to get through because the intro did not sell it at all, the fetish side is completely back loaded and the front side is incredible sad times from BB and Taylor.
  5. It probably still needed to be longer because the second half would have been a lot better with a proper middle.

I really think the proper criticism is that there needed to be a better middle section. One where BB was still working on her mech but also relaxing. Maybe have another theft section but have it be smaller than the first to show BB not really focusing on the credits as much as she was at the start, but still focusing a little unlike where she just lucked into the credits at the end. A third spa session would have also really helped. Just something to help bridge the gap between, because while some of it is there it kind of speed ran the ending especially because the intro felt so long.

Okay that said, I did like the sequence overall despite the problems.

  1. BB wanting praise because she has been alone and feeling like she is nonexistent is a great through line. She is essentially getting her wish but moving it from something she worked for (her mech building) to something she gets just from existing.
  2. The spa sessions were great scenes especially in contrast to each other.
  3. The ending with the gun is cool and a nice reward that actually makes it a tempting route
  4. Taylor is sad but the rapport he builds with BB is nice in the couple scenes before she go full brat
  5. Love bombing is a thing and a very interesting angle to come at this from, even if the people involved are not doing it intentionally.

Some side things, I really wish BB didn’t throw her friends under the bus as much as she does. Like instead of saying she can’t introduce them to Taylor maybe have her say she wishes she could. I get that this is part of her being a brat but it was a bit to consistent to where it feels like BB is a much worse person before the corruption. That’s another thing, base BB comes off much worse for this in contrast to Amber and Dawn. I kind of get the idea that she was supposed to be mega stressed and isolated to justify her having a bit of a break down but it did not sell it that well.

I would give it an 8 in terms of story. In terms of actual fetish goes, while I generally like the idea (bratification, spoiled rotten, whatever you want to call being pampered like this), it kind of falls into the trap of sad backstory ruining it for me. I had to shut it off and get into a different mind space at one point because it was resonating a bit. So kudos for successfully showing absolutely crushed self esteem.

Thank you for such detailed feedback!

Sorry it was such a mixed bag for you, you’ve made a lot of fair points, so I’ll keep it in mind as I go forward with the rest of BB’s arc here, and the other more ‘corruption’ based arcs.

Airhead wasn’t quite what I was going for, but she is the least ‘socially aware’ of the group, and the least against humans for the group, which is why she is more easily accepting of the swap after some time. Though for her calling out for Taylor, that was just force of habit after about a month of time spent at the hotel with him next to her 24/7.

Honestly I can agree with you 100%. I might have been too focused on the story beat of it, showing how different BB’s life is from before, fighting every day for just rotten crumbs, to now where she can have a room full of sweets given to her on a whim. But having the more graphic description there might have been too much and ruined an aspect of the fetish.

To be fair, Taylor doesn’t respond well to niceness, and BB’s one attempt at it almost gave him a panic attack!

Darn, I hoped the story and development of BB would help keep the front half engaging, but I apologize if the downer nature of it made it too much of a slog.

This is the only criticism I’m not sure I can fully agree with. BB’s quest is already the longest by far. Amber’s quest needed 1 new map, Dawn’s needed 3, and BB’s needed over 10 plus an extra month of development. While for overall pacing I probably could have reduced the MMMMM section, since it acts as sort of an unrelated intro, I think the hotel content was long enough.

With luck, when more of the game comes out, and BB develops further along this route, the overall pacing will even out a bit more.

A did try to have a bit of a middle, with BB going back to work on her mech again after some indulgences at the hotel, and growing to trust Taylor enough to let him hold a toolbox, not sure if adding another scene on top would help the pacing or make it feel even longer.

Thank you very much! Each corruption route will have something like that, a vice or bad habit in the girl’s that gets exploited and taken to extremes.

Yay! Look forward to more as you haven’t seen the last of the fruit girls!

I’ve wanted to have that kind of game mechanic in since the start! I think it can offer a lot of fun to playstyles, especially since the gun isn’t the only new equipment the player will get from the company. It can add an interesting balance, where you hobble one of the main members of your party, but have all the more extra money to buy the very best for everyone else.

Thank you! I like showing off different aspects of the world with these side quests, Citizen Cats, Prazin and skinny earth humans, and now the ‘peak’ of working cats. Ironically Taylor is probably near the low side on the moral scale, as you see tiny glimpses of like when he in full seriousness threatened to beat one of the fruit girls if they had offended BB. So it’s a bit of an interesting dynamic that one of the most evil characters, and one very representative of the system the girls fight against, is utterly loyal and devoted to BB’s happiness and comfort.

Oh dang, this is one I didn’t really intend. Sorry, which scene has BB throwing Dawn and Amber under the bus? For the comment of not wanting to introduce Taylor to Dawn and Amber it was more knowing they wouldn’t ever get along. Dawn would punch Taylor into the sun after hearing 2 minutes of his pro human propaganda, and Taylor would probably order Amber to massage BB’s feet, awkward all around!

Sorry it got a bit too heavy during it, if its any consolation next update for BB here will have less to none of the backstory, and will likely have some more self-reflection on BB as she realizes just how much she’s changing.

Thank you again for such long and detailed feedback, I’ll do my best to keep it in mind and use it to help the game be its best going forward!

Hello! I’ve been really intrested in this game ever since it’s announcement (to the point I’ve decided to finally make an account), and would like to share some thoughts on the most rescent release.

Amber: While I do think it was the weakest of the three, mostly due to how short it felt in comparsion, (all three quests take around one in game month) it was still really enjoyable. The relationship with Zoey was shortlived, but sweet and fun to watch, and the overall idea of beginning this questline with something small and simple like eating contest felt like a good place to start. I’m kind of split on having law enforcment show up this early though… not that I hate it or anything, I just can’t help but feel like Lesira showing up in person this quickly happened too soon i guess? Zoey being revealed as a citizen and also finding out about Amber’s identity as a rebel (whether she beleives the CPD accusations we’ll have to wait and see in later releases), does work as a solid wedge in her relationship with Amber. Can’t wait to see more of her both in the side questline and maybe even in the main one. 8/10 lowest score, BUT it’s the one I’m most exited to see what happens next.

Dawn: This one seems to be a fan favourite and I have to agree. It’s great. Everything from introducing a normal looking and acting human (even if clearly a very sheltered kind) in the person of Roman, establishing an unfortunate connection between him and Dawn due to the origins of her cyber implants, his loving if overwhelming (and as shown, very clever) mother and surprisingly reliable younger sister (something something, don’t judge the book by it’s cover…), having Dawn slowly let go of her anger and bloodlust and actually start caring for the family that welcomed her with open arms without prejudice. It’s all really good. i guess that one thing I’m not sure about is having Dawn and Roman show clear romantic interest in one another this early on? Roman I guess makes some sense due to how sheltered he is, but Dawn lived her entire life hating humanity and for her to start developing feelings for one of them just because he was rally nice and welcoming to her for a month seems a tad rushed (but maybe that’s just me) Overall a joy to watch/read and I can’t wait to see what happens next (hopefully she does end up bringing Amber and B.B. with her in the furue). Overall a solid 10/10.
I guess I do have one question for this questline. Is the choice on whether Roman should start gaining weight or not meant to affect all the future events of this questline? As in, change his personality, what events are going to transpire, the conclusion of his story etc.?

B.B.: The longest one of the three, and clearly the one that is meant to be “corrupting” the character. I kind of expected that seeing that while browing a bulletin board, her quest was the only one that was listed second, while Amber’s and Dawn’s were listed first. The short MMMMM section at the start was… ok. It worked as a showcase of how the rich view mechs and their pilots (which was already alluded in the mech shop if you visited it). That rich floating women whose name is escaping me at the moment and is trying to turn B.B. into a “star” just screams RED FLAG to me. I know rich eccentrics are a thing and she might geniualy believe that B.B. is special, but everytime she shows up and says something I have a feeling she’s about to pull a rug from under the girl. The highlight of this quest was definitly Taylor - the completly mindbroken into submission butler experiencing mental anguish whenever he’s not being worked to the bone. His mix of constant worship of B.B., spoiling her rotten with all the food and luxuries she could ever dream of, and his clear disdain for disloyal Catgirls including desire to severly punish them for making even the tiniest of mistakes paint him to be a very solid manipulating villain character directly responsible for turing B.B. into a prime example of a Groomed that the rebels so despise. The four girls woring in beauty saloon were also really nice and hopefully will keep showing up in the questline. The jumps between B.B.s past and present sometimes felt abrupt but I believe they did a solid job showing of her insecurities, desires and dreams, to the point it made sense why she acted the way she did at the start and how she ended up in the end. I guess the only part that felt off to me was the finale. B.B.'s first presentation as a star was super fast, I expected to see her talk with Taylor and the rich women at least one more time after it about how awesome she is, and how they can’t wait to have her do it again but even better. Instead it moved directly to their hideout where she continiued to act bossy towards her friends. I get that she ended up affected by the lifestyle she had for the past month, but id did feel jarring to me just how much she changed her attitude towards them in particular. But again, that’s a small issue and it doesn’t stop me from enjoying this quest. 9/10.
Oh, and one more positive, I really like how the clearly corrupting route ended up giving more than the other two (Amber’s and Dawn’s quests gave 4000 credits each, while B.B. gave out 6000 credits and a new weapon to top it off). Not sure if this is going to be a pattern in the game, but if so, It would be great imho.

So yeah, I typed lots of words here, and am very satisfied with what I saw. Thank to the dev @WaxeRed for creating this game (the more sci fi themed games here the better). I have one more question if that’s not a problem. I’m aware that the development is now going back to Apostles, so we won’t see anything new for Project Atlas for some time, but when the new release does come out, is it going to include the remaining side quests for all the part members (inclduing 99Lives) and than the next mainline quest, or will it only be the side quests (or it’s not yet decided).

Another example I was thinking of is when BB says none of her friends would give her a complement like the spa girls. It made me stop and think, because while I generally agree the rebels wouldn’t give her random complements it also feels like Dawn is causing the actual issues and the other two girls are being lumped with her (and even then Dawn seems to be perfectly willing to give BB complements on her lethality or similar). Even then though, the lead up to this is Dawn and Amber telling her no sweat after the MMMMM (Hopefully the right amount of Ms). So we have the intro to the session that is meant to set up the self esteem issues and both her friends have her back. Back to the complements point, its entirely a false equivalence because I can’t imagine 99 or Amber being unwilling to give a complement if it was something they thought BB wanted so it reads as BB having a much lower opinion of her friends (the thought being that if they were better friends they would complement her) or a fundamental misunderstanding of how complements work between different friends/people.
I think its trying to show that lack of social skills BB has but I don’t know if it hits that point home instead of accidently driving in another point.

I think I have another reason it didn’t gel from the explanation. From what it sounds like the route is trying to show multiple of BB’s weaknesses and turn that into why she is effected the way she is. It’s focusing on her lack of social skills, terrible self esteem, fear of loneliness, and her want to be important. I think it fundamentally works but the problem is corruption is very A to B so when you have a bad trait associated with the end product B be present before the corruption you unintentionally draw parallels between the before and after. Here this is the poor social skills. So when you have the Brat side have poor social skills due to selfishness stim from poor social skills due to isolation and ignorance the audience sees the same behavior but one is supposed to be understandable and forgivable and the other isn’t. Instead they blend together, so I am reading into BB being meaner than she is because the trait is present through the entire sequence.
Example if she says something wrong because of a mistake but then learns from it/apologizes then it looks like the problem comes of as ignorance. If she doesn’t learn and doesn’t feel guilt then it appears to be selfishness.

Idk maybe that makes sense maybe it doesn’t, trying to explain subconscious thought process is hard. Point I want to say is that I see where I read into the situation very differently and either way I have faith in the writing.

Edit: In terms of length going forward, I think this is a fine length I just thing some of the early scenes need to be shuffled to middle scenes if that makes sense. There was a lot of moving parts this update so I understand why it wasn’t done here.
Still like the update, I completely recommend. Making that clear because it feels like I am focusing on the issues I have.

Thank you! And welcome to the community! You’ve certainly made on heck of a first comment with your new account!

Glad you liked the eating contest start! I have a weakness for 80s training montages so I couldn’t help but have one in! And while it might have started with with a simple working catgirl eating contest but I think later stages will include even more grand contests!

Having Lesira show up (same with Miss Mittens) for that quest, was actually a last minute decision! While it might lower her overall “threat level” by having her so easily defeated, I did want to show off just how much power a citizen cat really has! Though for how/why Lesira can’t just find Amber again a little later the city is meant to be HUUUGE much larger then we actually see in game, so Lesira finding her once was a lucky needle in a haystack that likely won’t happen again anytime soon.

Thank you! Always good to know when I hit a home run out of the park! And I love it just as much! All the pieces came together for the perfect family of misfit characters, the skinny sheltered human, the fat slobby but genius sister, the caring perhaps TOO caring alien momma, and the rebel cyborg finding love! One big happy family!

It’s not love, and Dawn will punch anyone who says otherwise!!! (But kidding aside, there will be some more slow build as the two awkwardly work through the feelings and come to terms with what everyone else realized between them quite quickly.)

Fun fact! If you do the Romonov quest first, Roman will show up and interact with Amber for her eating contest.
I’ve tried to hide little tie ins like that where I can, though don’t worry they are all flavor tex, and there is no “right order.”

Good question! It won’t change any main events of the overall story, and it won’t change him off his overall personality of being gentle as a teddy bear. But the two routes will no doubt have some scene and dialogue differences as Roman falls into a feeder or feede role with Dawn. Though neither is wrong, players shouldn’t stress and just pick whichever they think will be more fun.

Good eye! You’re right on the money with that, with the bulletin board clue.

I do plan to return to the MMMMM later, so hopefully it provides a good contrast to BB her experiences as an independent and sponsored pilot.

Thank you, I had a ton of fun making this character! I always like the trope of a hyper competent character playing the servant role. And his corrupting of BB is fun as he genuinely doesn’t see it as “corrupting” and thinks he is helping her.

They will!

They were fun to play with, though I might have done 1 or 2 too many. Regardless I think I’ll probably do something similar with Dawn and Amber to show more of their past.

Yeah…part of that might have been a bit due to wanting to get the update done is a reasonable amount of time. But also I didn’t want to make it even longer than it already was! I’ll need to make up for it next update by having a bigger party on screen for BB!

For now her “bratty” behavior was just a bit of a temporary change, as she needed a moment to get back into the rhythm of being an Atlas rebel. She’ll be back to her usual self in future quests…unless you keep going back to Taylor and the sponsor, in which case changes may grow a bit more permanent.

Another good spot! And you are very much correct! Corruption routes pay out 6000 while the regular ones do 4000. Just an extra bit of temptation on top!

Credit to CJX4 too! He makes all the art in these games and I couldn’t do it without him! And credit to you and everyone else who shares such in depth feedback really helps me refine the work and is great motivation! So thank you!!!

Next Atlas update after Apostles will probably be the 4 remaining side quests and the first major story quest. Assuming it doesn’t take too long. While it couldn’t be avoided I am not thrilled I needed to put Apostles on ice for a full year!

Sorry, had to go back and check which line you were referencing. I think my original interion for that line is that Dawn and 99 would never compliment BB for her gained weight like the Fruit Girls did. I can see where you are coming from though, I’ll edit or remove it! Thanks!

I think I mostly understand what you are saying here! But for my approach I like for the corruption routes for each of the girls to take an already existing trait in them, and have it be exploited/grown into monstrous proportions. So while BB might have a bit of a bratty streak hidden under her usually shy demeanor (usually only seen when someone tries to mess with Li Shou ironically enough) players who don’t pursue the corruption route very far won’t see that trait manifested much.

While having it always there from the start might make BB seem a little bad, hopefully it will even out when we see the aspects of the other two girls get corrupted for their eventual routes.

I get you totally! Thank you for your help and making Atlas the best it can be!
