I got the recepie now but it dose not show in the oven. Am i doing somthing wron?

The KEy Item is called “The Ultimate Stew” but it hase no icon

Thanks for this game! I have played it through to the queen’s boss battle a few times and enjoyed it quite a bit.

I did find a number of bugs and small errors that I thought I would mention. There are… a lot of them… so I sorted them roughly by severity and grouped them by type.

I hope at least some of these will be helpful and not just an annoyance. They are certainly not complaints; I do really like the game!

Game breaking bugs

  1. When in the Jello Plains after accepting the quest for anna, the only option after conquering a jello slime is to capture. But my net broke while fighting them, and after conquering a jello slime with the net broken, an empty menu came up. When walking away with the empty menu still displaying, the game crashed with error “cannot set property bitmap of undefined”

  2. When I intentionally succumbed to the virus to get the ending, the ending played on loop, forcing a reload.

Exploitables

  1. Since it doesn’t require an action, the Jigglers bar is essentially a cheat to infinite weight and fullness, even if the win conditions were set correctly (see #7). Because it costs only 500G, and wins 1000G, you can play it forever if you guess conservatively and have minimal belly space. It can be spammed for infinite gains.

  2. The cake contest may not be working according to your intentions. Mindy’s (?) fullness seems to carry over between contests, so it is trivial to defeat her in one day, and without needing to eat any cake.

Errors in conditions

  1. In battle, consuming a roast pig gives HP, but zero fullness.

  2. Using the Digest skill gives HP even on a completely empty stomach

  3. The win conditions in Jiggler’s bar seem to be switched. If I drink more than I guessed, I lose; drinking less wins. So guessing 999 drinks wins every time.

  4. The gym still only consumes 250 pounds, even after I was told it was upped to 500 pounds. Not sure which number is used when initially checking player weight.

  5. I did not investigate this one much, but Tiffany’s potion gave me less stats after it “improved.”

  6. When attempting to consume a slimeball, an option appeared for Isabelle to consume it, even when she is not present.

  7. I had aces counted as ten and twelve sometimes during blackjack. Not sure what the conditions were.

  8. Blackjack does not give an option to double if 8, 9, or 10 is reached on the third card.

  9. The eating contest took no actions when I first won. I didn’t double-check this, though.

  10. Paying for the buffet expansion took an extra action

  11. Eating Lady G’s maid or the goddess statue person takes one action, though eating anyone else I tried did not.

Visual Glitches

  1. At Jigglers, if you try to enter without payment and the woman at the counter (Adriana?) stops you, her sprite remains on the screen until you speak to her again.

  2. Aria can be walked into from the sides. Talking to her from behind causes her sprite to disappear.

  3. In the eating contest, Tiana appears underneath the door.

  4. After Anna gains weight, her husband’s sprite is duplicated. The old one stays in its old place and is not interactable.

  5. During the extermination mission, Lady G’s dialog head sprite is fat, even when she is thin.

  6. In the castle kitchen, when trying to go upstairs either when there are maids still present, or when everything is already eaten, the Alicia’s head sprite shows as the thinnest one, even when fat.

  7. One can get behind Jigglers’ bar through the sides.

  8. When the Candy Lovers’ Association representative comes to the house, her sprite comes farther into the house than probably intended; Alicia walks past her and talks to nobody, and when the rep leaves, she doesn’t make it to the front door before leaving

Gameplay Annoyances

  1. Even on the hard level, the virus never affected my gameplay. Its effects are simply negligible since it can be counteracted by eating to fullness three or four times, which is really trivial. Further, the forest monsters were all beatable by day four or five for me on hard. Not sure if others have had this issue, but more challenging gameplay would be a positive for me.

  2. Feeding Alice several items is quite time-consuming. For some reason, apples alone allow multiples to be used in succession by simply clicking repeatedly on Alicia after selecting the apple item. Everything else requires three clicks each time: Item, Cooke, Alicia for instance.

  3. Not having normal NPC interaction options available when a quest was active was annoying. E.g. after you’ve promised to get elixir, you can’t work for the farmer until you’ve gotten it.

  4. Holding the spacebar down, which I do often, can sometimes cause UI elements not to appear, such as the arrows for gambling amounts and for the Jigglers bar contest. Keyboard inputs still get you through, though.

  5. When hunting jello slimes for Anna, Alicia says that she needs to capture 5 both when entering and when leaving; at least when leaving without all five.

  6. When hunting the orc for Anna, her husband is still blocking the path when you leave, and needs to be interacted with to move (he says the same thing, too).

Debug Room glitches

  1. When viewing the Goddess ending, Alicia’s dialog head sprite was the thinnest of all, though in-game and in the ending she was a blob. I’m not sure if this applies to the actual ending if achieved in-game.

  2. After viewing the neutral ending, my sprite speed was set to the fastest.

I Am the Grammar Police

  1. When bringing the cook fairy wings, the cook asks, “Did you bring me…” and the response is “I sure do,” which doesn’t agree.

  2. When voring an orc, it is said to become “apart of you,” which should be “a part of you”

  3. “1 cookies left to go!” – ‘cookies’ is still in the plural form.

  4. Somewhere in the script is “so turns around” when there should have been “she turns around.” My notes here are badly vague.

Thank you again for producing this game, and sorry for the endless list of small-fry issues! When I get around to completing the game, I suppose I may have another list, though…

Ooof, that’s alot to unpack. I appreciate the searching though. I’ll slowly go through and fix them all up and repost the fixed version.

The game breaking Anna bug is quite annoying however, definitely thought I fixed that when it came up a while ago (your meant to be given another Net if it does break)…

You can use the oven by giving fairy wings to the girl in the slums a few times. She will cook for you and eventually leave and let you use the oven. OR upgrade the lab once you recruit enough party members and you’ll have a functioning oven then as well.

  1. As above, it should be fixed, so not sure what’s happening there honestly.

  2. Odd…? It’s set to give a game over and then load the title screen. Not quite game breaking since at that point you’ve lost anyways so you have to restart regardless… But annoying that it is happening at all…

  3. Fuck. I’m guessing instead of using > , I used < and thus it broke the whole thing…

  4. It’s listed in the daily reset variables to go back to 0 each day. Although there may be the issue of there being 2 variables for it (1 for thin Mindy and 1 for fat Mindy depending on if you gave her the Special Cake first…)

  5. The whole fullness mechanic unfortunately broke far too often and I want to fix it but it would require an entire overhaul of the game most likely…

  6. Same as above

  7. Highlighted in point 3.

  8. Hmmm. I’ll check that branch out. It’s a giant heaping mess of branches there, so it’s possible I simply forgot to edit the number.

  9. That’s very weird… Again, probably a mistyped number on my end…

  10. Damn it… Forgot the conditional check there.

  11. I’m guessing since I have it treated as 1 and 11, it just went and added the two numbers together and gave it 12 (or subtracted and made it 10)

  12. Technically, you can only double on 9, 10 or 11. and you can only ever double on the first two cards (never the third - well my local casino doesn’t…)

  13. It should take the actions once you leave through the front door. (Using the i’m stuck skill will obviously bypass this, but it should be disabled until you leave)

  14. Odd… It should just take money… Although paying for stuff is exhausting!

  15. Ah! Those are some older events, I was meant to remove that but a few must have slipped under the radar.

  16. Easy fix, just needs a remove picture event.

  17. Need to lock that picture into the direction to fix that.

  18. Yeah, that one is just a visual mess cause there’s no real layer system in MV. Since the door is a higher number event, it gets drawn on top (and I don’t want to change the number order of events as it took 12 years to get the contest hall semi-working…)

  19. Ah, that one is meant to disappear (if you could let me know which branch you took for her, that would help heaps!)

  20. Oops… :stuck_out_tongue:

  21. As above

  22. What do you mean through the sides? Like you can walk through a wall?

  23. That’s just a shitty movement route by me honestly. One of those extremely old events that I haven’t looked at in probably 2 years…

  24. I did have to nerf a lot of the monsters as a large consensus of people said they literally couldn’t fight them at all… I didn’t want to make it a super grind fest so I opted for easier enemies (also having no level system present makes balancing hard since you can be at a whole range of stats at any given time)

  25. That’s mainly for the fullness stat to be able to update to maintain balance between fullness and the variable itself (the change to MP was done far later in the game and I didn’t want to go back and change everything to account for it, so I opted for a lazier solution. It’s annoying but without going back and doing it all it somewhat keeps it together…)

  26. Again, slight laziness on my part. Conditional branches are not user friendly in MV. You can’t enlarge the window or scroll down without it behaving oddly and cramming too many into one event causes weird glitches in the editor (and crashes after a certain point…) so I just went for the easier option for my own sanity more or less (that and after losing half the game to a crash and having to reload older files…)

  27. That’s an engine issue. It’s not meant to be sped up, and because it is, it can cause syncing issues with events using normal movement routes.

  28. Hmmm… That IS annoying…

  29. Same as above… The bum should just go home already…

  30. I think it’s mostly because I didn’t quite change the dialogue properly (originally you were at a guaranteed size when that event triggered so i must not have set it to be adjustable as it is normally)

  31. Good catch… I’ll make sure to reduce that speed down to normal again…

  32. That is a good catch…

  33. … I need to proof read more…

  34. Mostly because I would need an additional conditional branch there to check if Cookies is less than 2 and then change the text to accommodate.

  35. Hmmm… I’m definitely going to need more info on that one…

I’m glad you enjoyed it. The buggy mess that it is. I’d love to fix up the fullness system one day… But it’s going to take me a lot of energy to want to tackle that mess…

Wow, I never expected you to go through all of these so quickly!

Maybe I’ll replicate it later and post a screenshot.

The issue is that since it doesn’t reset during the day, performing consecutive cake contests during the same day fills Mindy up quite fast.

I’m not entirely sure, as I was randomly selecting options for a while, but I think I ended up on the corrupt route (ditch the husband dialog option)? He did go out to get an ogre for her later.

The front of the bar is solid and cannot be walked through, but I can get right up next to the bartender walking through either side of the bar.

Yeah, like I said, I was lazy and vague taking my notes.

Thanks for reading the whole shebang I posted. Take or leave whatever, as you feel fit!

Holy molly that’s alot of things you found wrong with the current version, are you a QA Tester or something?

and i have been meaning to go back to the game again and finally finish an actual play through of it myself though i might wait a bit longer now

Most of them are mere typos or visual glitches that don’t really affect playability or enjoyment. But, as you may be able to tell, I tend towards perfectionism…

To be fair, they were always there…. We just sweep things under the rug. Only two game-breaking things is kinda nice (technically one - since the game over one is always a game over…)

Okay, if you needed to get an ogre, that’s Anna’s neutral path. The jigglers things is weird. Must be an odd tile set collision there.

Ohhh and with Mindy, you should only be able to do the challenge once per day…. That’s probably why if didn’t reason -.-

Once per day would solve that problem.

I’d also recommend making the Jiggler’s bar contest once per day as well, since with repetitive conservative guessing it is essentially an infinite gold and drink source.

Yeah good call. Although they were supposed to be once per day. I must have just forgotten to add the clause in when I made them…

is there any new spirits coming in the future (for the main character of course :upside_down_face:)

sorry im really confused do i fight jello slime to get a supercharged ball?

Sadly no, the current ones may be fixed up slightly (mostly to remove some lines that float around and such) but there won’t be any larger sprites coming.

So to get supercharged slime you need to get Joe to show you Aria (his giant slime). To trigger it, you either need to help him with his work 5 times or eat him and check the control panel in his house. Then capture Jello Slimes and bring them back to Aria to feed to her.

just noticed a glitch when feeding the blue slime i see Isabelle as a option but shes not in it still

Yeah, that’s just an oversight on my part. It’s on the to do list :stuck_out_tongue:

I hope I didn’t eat any character too soon. It’s so awesome to come back later and see them larger!

Damn, those Bodyguards beating up the Slime Queen are unbeatable. And now I can’t complete the quests on the noble district because the event trigger as soon as I step on it. Did I trigger this questline way too early? Because they one-shot Lucia, and there are THREE of them!

Any tip to deal with those fuckers?

They are definitely beatable. You just need to keep raising stats steadily. Thankfully its located in the noble district which means you have access to everything else in town. Accessories make a big difference (Especially the ninja ring for bonus attacks)

For anyone who has trouble with beating enemies (works perfectly in 1.8.5):

1 or 2 days finish the delivery quest for some money and get stats from eloise shop, farm fullness and lab machines.
After that rush for machine codes in the forest apart from the guarded one. Get this one when you can.
Spend 2 AP on stats at the shop and farm, 2 to get in the forest and complete the repeatable quests that give you stat growth items, last one can be used at the contest hall to get some easy food and contest tickest to get more growth items.
Later replace 2 AP for farm and shop to 2 AP for the gym.
Also you should get to Icycull to finish “brothers in arms quest” so that one of them can upgrade lab machines.
Spend money on ninjutsu rings, contest tickets on def or atk items.
Rinse and repeat until you have enough stats to defeat anyone.

Okay, I just beat the Queen in the final battle but there are several things I wasn’t able to accomplish and I have no idea how to do it. I also wonder if that’s the only ending, or if I screwed things up big time at some point. (I miiight have accidentally eaten 1 or 2 characters here and there)
So, any help would be much appreciated. (I’ll blur it for spoilers)

  1. I never managed to get Isabelle as a companion. I fought her 3 times (last time in front of the castle), and she never showed up again.
  2. I read here that there is a Succubus Village, and I never stumbled upon anything like that.
  3. I got the 2 Slime girls and fed them Slime Balls till they grew big, but they demand something else to be fed to them so they can progress further, which I have no clue what is. So far, I can’t recruit them to follow me at all :frowning:
  4. I can’t find the Ultimate Stew (or its recipe). I read here I should talk to someone recruited to repopulate Icycull. I don’t know if I did something wrong or ate someone I shouldn’t eat, but there are empty houses in Icycull and no one there gave me any quest aside from the merchant brothers and the Elder himself.
  5. I feel like there is more to Lady G and Esmeralda than their initial quests to start fattening them up, but none of them progresses past those first quests. (Eggs for Lady G and Pill for Esmeralda)
  6. Is there anything in the casino past that VIP stair?
  7. I ate the Cake girl and the Sumo fighter girl early in the game. Was that what screwed me up?
  8. I lost the first battle against the Queen. I thought it was scripted to be a loss, since it triggered me to go to Icycull. Was I supposed to win it?
