Project F.A.T. v1.8.6 - Completion

Oh those will be coming back. Just need to make the contest functioned in the first place

But the lady G thing was weird…She won’t accept chicken eggs even after beating her?
Hmm… I must have used the wrong switch…

That and the bat quest being busted are the only progress barriers right now, otherwise it’s pretty squeaky clean outside the castle interior interactions being weird.
Oh and speaking of the castle interior, you left that key to the castle on the edge of the pond in the upper left of the western forest. Maybe hide it somewhere else, it was fun being able to get in there almost right away like in previous versions.

OH LAWD SHE COMIN’

If you can’t see your prey, that means they can’t see you, everyone knows that

Okay. 2 things so far isn’t bad. Go team!

Ah that was a failsafe incase the slime village quest bugged again…
which was likely given the track record with the guard hall and contest hall

far out…
IT’S HALLS!!! HALLS ARE THE PROBLEM.

Clearly once Lucia gets too fat for halls your problems will be solved

I’ve already blocked out the last couple sprites, she is about to be too fat for halls. She’s already too fat for all the stairs!

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz I used the wrong switch for when you beat Lady G. Imma fix it and repost the fix and the fix for the contest hall (same thing happens with blotted out choices. choosing change your mind takes you to the next option…)

Weird. I couldn’t see any errors with the bat quest other than I wrote Fairy Problem instead of Bat Problem.

That’s all I changed. I went to the forest, killed 5 bats and came back. No softlocking…

Either way, this folder contains the fixes for the contest hall, guard hall and fixes the lady g egg problem

Bit of sprite feedback for when you make things in the future.

You’re running into an issue that I actually used to run into before, that being perspective. In RPG maker, sprites are not at a perfect 1:1 perspective (looking directly at the sprite), rather, the sprites are drawn so that they are viewed from above at an angle.

Therefore, with a belly that size, it should go way farther forward than it does in the sprite you drew. Of course, with how RPG maker works at base, this would cause collision issues, but that can be fixed with smart use of plugins.

That said, this game is already pretty… rough looking, so it won’t be a big issue here, and I think this already looks better than a lot of what’s available in this game, but again, it’s just something to keep in mind in the future.

I’m not actually any kind of sprite artist, man, but I recognize all that, and it was either be consistent with the perspective of every other character sprite in the game or be consistent with the perspective of the ground, I chose the former.
Top down games always look weird anyway, I can’t even think of any that have their sprites oriented to actually match the terrain except for more isometric ones, so I reason that if Link to the Past can have it’s pink-haired protag look directly at the screen when facing south, it’s good enough for this one.
Except she’s the size of a house.

Some more feedback after another round of testing the latest fixes!

Bugs:

  1. There are only 4 r2 quests, but you need 5 to advance to r3, and now you cannot repeat any q…
  2. Defeating the 4 thiefs in their den locked up the game, couldn’t do anything at all, no menu, nada. Had to restart the game.
  3. Black screen when zoning out from the slime village.
  4. Slime-wife’s husband randomly respawned at some point after getting the slime in their basement.
  5. Hero of the Village “breaks” the guild hall, sort of… Without accepting new quests I can keep completing the Hero of the Village one.
  6. Edible succubi seems to have vacated Jigglers, on purpose?
  7. Casino VIP-card does nothing? Or maybe I just couldn’t get past the guard.

Feedback:

  1. Eating Contest is way smoother! Though it really sucks that increasing Lucia’s max fullness really doesn’t help. Why does everything else in the game have a set amount of fullness but the contest doesn’t? Feels counter-intuitive to me.
  2. Might be a good idea to add a barrier of entry to the casino of some sorts. With save-scumming I could easily aquire hundreds of thousands of gold by betting my max amount on blackjack over and over and reloading if I lost. Maybe a entry-pass or something needs to be purchased with like 1500g before you could play? That way you can at least not enter on the very first couple of days.
Alternatively, remove blackjack since it is too easy to win.
  3. I realize the game is still in-dev, but apart from the Thieves Den q, the r5 are all easier to complete than the r4 hehe.
  4. Bellyslam is waaay OP. Doing basically Lucia’s weight in damage without any cost is insane. Making sure Lucia is at least 500+ makes the r4 quests a pushover, since all the mobs die from a single bellyslam.
  1. Love the game so far, keep up the amazing work!

Slime-wife’s husband randomly respawned at some point after getting the slime in their basement.

That sounds like a feature, not a bug! haha

I wasn’t trying to lay into you man, just giving you advice for the future. I understand that the sprites in the game are already inconsistent as they are, so it isn’t a big deal.

Also, Link in LttP isn’t facing directly towards the screen either. It’s also at an angle. It’s just not as obvious 'cause of how small the sprite is.

  1. Oh my god. I forgot I did that… I’ll have to add more quests then.

  2. Oh really? That’s really weird… I changed nothing with that event. Odd that it broke…

  3. Hmm, was it just as you were leaving? Or part of an event?

  4. Odd. Can you tell me what day you were on?

  5. That quest is becoming a pain :stuck_out_tongue: might remove it and make it something else. And you just visit the slime village normally.

  6. The edible ones are meant to reappear after you finish esmerelda’s quest.

  7. Nothing yet, I haven’t made the room for it. Not sure what to include in there just yet, so I’ve left it blank.

  8. Yeah, I didn’t think that through to be honest. Although making food give set amounts is easy peasy. I was thinking about doing the basic fights as set foods and the boss have something a bit more exotic. And then upgrading them as the ranks increase.

  9. Yeah save-scumming is a thing. Although with the entry pass, you could do the same thing. I just hope people don’t I guess.

  10. Well, originally my idea was the rank 5 quests are mostly story based ones. They are meant to be easy cause they need to be completed. For instance, the farm thief unlocks Isabelle. Delivery unlocks Esmerelda’s second size.

  11. Yeah it being directly tied to weight is an issue. Trying to work out a nice formula for it.

Okay. So I’m changing the rank up to be lower for every rank, so you don’t need to do as many quests overall.

I tested the bandit one and couldn’t replicate it at all. So not sure what happened there. Did the screen freeze? If so, that’s an RPG maker speciality.

The jigglers girls reappear after you turn in the quest.

The slime one was my mistake. Forgot to turn off the initial event when you enter.

All should be fixed in the next update. Which will come with some other stuff…
Once my assignments are done

In my opinion since there have been and there will be updates that require restarting the game all over again I suggest that maybe there could be some kind of “cheats” to make it faster because at least in my case I love the game, but I think that playing it all over again to see the new changes each time can be kind of tedious, It’s ok if my idea is considered bad or wrong, its only that maybe the first hours of the game can get repetitive if you don’t know perfectly what to do and in which point do it.

Ah like something in the lab that activates a bunch of switches and completes some stuff?

That’s a good idea.

Although my issue is Deciding what stuff to turn on…

I’ll have to make a list and suss it out.

Maybe something to modify or just set a specific weight, or one that reduces the amount of days needed for each sidequest ( Like the one of the wife and the slimegirl instead of being like 18 days being less than that or the maid quest too ), infinite actions, a vending machine that gives any item of the game (except of key items that can break the game probably), infinite money and actions per day, etc

Another thing could be that you can repeat certain mini quests (like the old farmer one or the slime killing one indefinetly the same day.

The Lady G egg problem is still happening for me
