Project F.A.T. v1.8.6 - Completion

If I’m correct the slime wife quest is you have to get the slime girl after beating the red slime and not eat her

Hi again! Tried the 0.73 update out briefly! I used the “boost” option at the start.

  1. Danielle’s maid never seems to progress? Constantly stuck in the first “phase”.
  2. Tried both the Flaming Orc and the Golden Slime quest, couldn’t complete either since the mobs refused to enter combat.
  3. Home Delivery still acts out :(. If I return to Esmeralda on the day after I turned in the quests she plays the completion dialogue again. And I can turn in the quest again.
  4. Cannot escape the quest selection menu.
  5. Contest Hall Competitors can go to negative fullness if they burp? Seems a bit unfair haha
  6. Using the pill that increases max fullness can make you go above max capacity? I only think I did it once and now I’m not sure if I remember it correctly, but eating more than max capacity caused a “ate too much” event even tho I had more max fullness. Sorry, weird explanation…

I also couldn’t figure out how to advance my rank in the contest hall, maybe I’m just dumb.

Either way, great game and great update! Not having %-fullness in the Contest Hall made it more interesting to play!

Handful of observations.

Seconding the bug with Danielle’s maid not progressing.

I beat the rank 1 boss for the contest hall, didn’t progress to round 2

Unsure if this was actually intended, but in the forest where in the room you find the doctors skeleton (guarded by a minotaur) there’s a hole in the wall on the right that lets you into a seemingly unfinished sewer area. The upper left of this map leads into what appears to be the new WIP castle, which you can partially explore (although some doors are one way)

Enjoying the update so far though

Whoops! Least that isn’t a horrid one.

The hero of the village needs the green slime.
Once you accept the quest, talk to her. (It doesn’t matter the size she is at)
Then head to the forest and go west, there was a path blocked by vines which should have disappeared.
You’ll need to fight an enemy and then report back to the slime girl.

So the slime wife quest goes in two paths:

  • if you beat the red slime her husband will say he has a key for the back door. If you pay for it, the “Feeder Husband” route unlocks.
  • if you don’t beat the red slime, the wife takes matters into her own hands and eats the slime. This is the “Goodbye Husband” path.

I will be adding a quick makeshift guide in the next update.

  1. Really? How long has it been? Each phase lasts 5 days. I definitely broke something with the boost.
  2. Oh! I know why that is… thought I double checked everything
  3. I still don’t understand why. I checked that like 10 times and it worked.
  4. Oops. That’s my bad :stuck_out_tongue:
  5. Yeah, they shouldn’t be using it if they are below a certain fullness, I probably fudged my math somewhere. Which contestants did that?
  6. Yup, to save on having literally 10 running parallel events per map, the max capacity will update after you sleep. With it upgrading to a higher % once you pass 70 max fullness

Round 2 should be unlocked after the boss… that’s weird… I bet I forgot to add “increase contest rank by 1” it sounds like something I’d do.

Oh Shi-
Okay, imma change that to be somewhere totally different now. Forgot I added that :frowning:

I think that this game is a great game but it would be cool if there was expanded art for weights such as 5,000 and up

Maybe one day. Problem is that a lot of stuff on the map would appear inside you, since the large sizes take up more space than the 1x1.
Although I may tinker with it to change it. Meaning you may be too big to enter some places

If it is something as simple as forgetting to add 1 to a variable, would it be possible to get a simple fix?

This folder contains the files to fix the contest hall. (Had it setting to 1 rather than adding 1…)

Also fixed the four boss quests since i shuffled some common events around.

Just download the whole lot and paste over the top.

Hello, recent un-lurker here. The game is great (if understandably plagued with bugs, being developed by a single person as a passion project), and I look forward to each update (especially with the addition of Sidesalad00’s MC sprites - which I sincerely hope continue, and which I hope continue to have the breasts keep up, as they’re oddly so often ignored/forgotten in so many weight gain games and other media).

I figured I’d throw in some bug reports and input:

  • I’ve encountered quest-spawned enemies not reacting or engaging in fights even beyond the ones mentioned (I’ve tried the Fairy Queen, the Burning Orc, and the Golden [still green?] Slime, all with them merely twitching when I try to pick a fight with them.
  • I can add my name to the pile of people who cannot get beyond level 1 of the contest (despite your post saying you’re supposed to start at level 2 when ‘boosted’), even after beating every single level 1 opponent at least once (and the boss probably about 8 times). By the time I gave up on trying, I was already into my final size class (admittedly, I go cheat some things, to help me jump ahead to discover new content and try out missed content on updates).
  • I do not know how to access/have been unable to access this aforementioned ‘slime village,’ despite having fed both the green and red slime until they reached what I assumed was their final stage (they stopped letting me feed them). I have also never seen anything relating to this ‘hero[ine] of the town’ quest, but I assume that’s because I haven’t been able to progress my quest rank high enough to get the quest; I likewise assume the same for this quest for Esmerelda.
  • When entering the castle through the route another mentioned (the cave, through the sewer, into the castle), I ended up in the one-way trip to the kitchen. Once I got into the supply room I saw a door in the far wall, but could not reach it before being prompted to eat the stored food. Resisting temptation just made me leave, and giving in (the more fun option, to be sure) saw the wall spotless once more. Is this a misplaced tile, or something being worked on that isn’t finished?
  • It feels like the woman in the pointy hat near the ‘up town’ goddess statue never moves from the front of it now, or I somehow had the misfortune of never seeing her move away. As such, now I have to praise that divine rear end to seek greater depths of gluttony (and atonement for my unrestrained ravening ravenous behavior).
  • There’s still a small artifact left over from the above spite on one of the MC’s size sprite (I believe the next-to-largest, and I think when moving right).
  • A number of clipping issues with the larger sizes might be fixed by just playing around with collision and what shows up on top (like making it so the pillars outside Jigglers are always under the PC’s sprite, but the PC cannot move directly behind them - since, alas, it would be too much to hope to see her girth squashing between them as she tied to wedge herself into the even smaller entrance).
  • If you wanted to have increases in max capacity better keep up with the future ‘max’ capacity, you could maybe have it update when changing maps, instead of only when sleeping. If that’s too much (or too fast), I think the current way is still workable…so long as people can figure it out, to avoid accidentally over-stuffing after chugging hunger stimulants like food at the contest.
  • Speaking of the contest, I wonder if it might not help with increasing levels if the three types of food had bigger steps between their fullness/point values. A little parenthetical annotation of their value in the menu where you pick which to eat might also help people plan better.
  • Is the shed on the farm (‘there’s no reason to go in here…yet’) something that’s planned for a future installment, or something I’ve just managed to miss the trigger for?
  • When you comment on how nice the visit from the cookie girl was, it plays twice - once for your current face, and once for your original one. I’m guessing the trigger to clear/override the dialogue image for the original one isn’t active, so it just plays both instead of only the most up-to-date one?
  • There’s still clipping on some of the building in the noble quarter. Some things (pillars, I think) look like they’re overlapping tiles they should maybe be behind (as best I remember).
  • Speaking of clipping, I feel like…I think her name was Mary, the one you give yogurt to…her clothes clip or aren’t properly on her sprite right. She clearly gets a big belly to go with her dominant rear, but the front view of her spite makes it look like she has only the means to drive Sir Mixalot wild. I also think she appears in level 1 of the contest twice - as small and big - if I recall?
  • Many of the NPCs still do not comment on the highest sizes of the PC - some even cutting off their commentary earlier than others.
  • Does bat wing woman actually do anything, besides offer a way to make a little money? Could she - and the cookie fiend, for that matter - perhaps be possible targets of fattening up in the future?
  • Is there, or will there ever be, a difference between the food items sold by the twin NPCs - or even between their items and the one made by the woman who wants fairy wings/sold by the suspect gentleman who visits your lab sometimes? They all seem to give a random possible result from the same 3-4 possible results.

All that is what I can recall for now, and I hope it came off as more helpful than overly-critical… Aside from that, I also wanted to say that I would argue for not worrying about things like save-scumming and the like. Some people (like me) use it merely to keep from having our enjoyment dragged down when trying to get the the newest features, etc. Even beyond that, it’s just the way that playing the game is fun for some. It’s probably always better to just worry about how to make the story and challenges appealing to participate in, instead of whether you’ve slowed down the player enough to make them take it in (which I don’t think you have been doing, but I feel worrying about preventing something like save-scumming is basically just in service of).

Thank you for all the work you put into this project, and for making it (even with the bugs, which I think bother you more than a lot of those playing) so much fun. Honestly, this is definitely one of my absolute favorite games I found through this site, and by a large margin.

((Edit: please disregard the points you literally just fixed while I was typing this up. Always impressive.))

I’m glad you enjoy the game! Now this is a meaty post. Let me see if I can answer some questions.

  1. Yup, you saw it, that should be fixed and working fine now
  2. Same as 1.
  3. So the Slime Village is a quest. When you hit Guard Hall rank 5, a Quest called “Hero of the Village” will show up. Talk to the slime girl in the lab (the Green One) to begin. This will remove the vines in the western part of the Forest. Beat the goblin and you can then complete the quest. (There’s not much else to do there really. Well not yet anyways…)
  4. Well that hole wasn’t supposed to be there, I was testing and then forgot to remove it… There will be a plethora of broken pathways in the Castle currently. Use the “Im Stuck” to get ot.
  5. She leaves at night time. Although the statue in the first part of town does exactly the same thing.
  6. I’ll have to investigate that and talk to sidesalad about it.
  7. Yup, I’m currently looking into a plugin that will alter the player hitbox, this may restrict the player from going into places, but that may actually happen in future. Cause let’s face it, she too damn big for those tiny doors…
  8. I had it running parallel and constantly updating BUT it causes insane amounts of lag issues. Since it’s constantly re-running the code and updating it. So I moved it to when you sleep so the game doesn’t freeze.
  9. The annotation is a good idea. Will include that. Balancing the numbers was tricky. Mostly I need feedback from everyone so I can workout a nice balance for them.
  10. I believe sidesalad is working on those as we speak. I’m rubbish at that stuff so they all look rather silly
  11. She just gives money. The cookie girl teaches you a skill as her primary goal. Other than that, no, they don’t do anything else. (and maybe…)
  12. I did actually change them. They both do something different (which is chosen at random). They are all actually totally different events. The mystery food has 5 options (Gives max fullness, sets fullness to 0 but increases attack and defense by 1, weight -3, attack -1 and HP - 3, weight +4)
The sisters only have 2 options each. Sister 1 special will either drain your fullness entirely or make your fullness hit maximum and give you -2 agility. The Sister 2 special will either increase weight by 3 and fullness by 10 OR fullness becomes 0 and weight -5.
They are mostly gimmicky and to fill in some of the space in the Uptown area.

Overly critical is good. Cause that way I can try fix the issues and usually work out a compromise for others (I.E the original contest sucked, then the revamped one was unwinnable… so here we are :D)
Save scumming is something anyone can do. I’ve done it myself in games when I’ve played through content already and I want to see new stuff.
The original idea of the game was to be a sandbox experience. There’s a loose story you can follow but for the most part its “do what you want”.
Making a game challenging while still being fun is the hard part. I’m still a novice at game-balance. So i’m always tweaking monster stats and events to try find the perfect amounts. That’s why posts like this help. I can see what needs to be done and where I need to adjust.

Again, thanks alot for the comments! They are super helpful and I’m glad your enjoying the game

Ooh, so I should probably avoid the sisters’ food items. Good to know. That aside, did you address the farm shed, or the double-playing reaction to the little girl who gives you free cookies?

If I might throw wishes/suggestions:

  • I wouldn’t mind seeing the one who asks for cookies (I’ll call her ‘fullness beam lady,’ because my memory is terrible when I need it, but amazing when it’s meaningless) and the bat wing buyer eventually get ways of being fattened up. This is especially true if the good ol’ Fullness Beam can just be fed until her trick start failing her, and she basically gets overwhelmed and over-fed as she asks you to stop (or maybe start trying to protest, but starts losing self control). Both that event and embiggening Wing Wallet could in theory be done with quest items (or even quests, which would maybe work better for Wingy). Maybe addictive cookie boxes from the shop (so you’re buying something more expensive, but not as pricey as dozens or hundreds of single cookies), and something connected to why the other wants the wings?
  • It might be nice to see other little things around the town, like the woman obsessed with the goddess statue slowly chunking up from her own prayers.
  • Is it possible to have a permanent benefit/effect from clearing out the pantry in the castle? Considering the end result, you’d think it’d do something a lot more significant than just slap on a few extra pounds (and fill your fullness).

I can’t think of other suggestions, but I did remember a few other bugs/things to bring attention to:

  • When you’re being ‘remade’ in the opening cutscene, it might be a good idea to move the model down at the same time as scaling up the size, so it looks like she’s grown while still on the bed - instead of suddenly hanging half off the top.
  • When I entered the dining hall in the upper district, I got not only no choices of what to do (which may have been due to corruption, I’m not sure), I didn’t even get the part before turning on the guy behind the counter. I literally entered the door, then was talking to the lone proprietor as I had him backed against the wall behind his counter.
  • Is ogre meat a thing yet? The Drow(?) who makes cocktails wants it for the next recipe, and I don’t remember seeing ogres anywhere.
  • Is the pampered princess back behind a ‘no vore this one’ wall, or is that connected to the contest? I just wondered, because I didn’t expect her to ‘seem like a bad idea right now’ when I was at 1500 lbs, had almost 400 max fullness, and stats almost as fat as the PC’s sprite. :stuck_out_tongue:
  • Last thing I’ll add for the moment: the critters in the woods might be a little too strong for lower levels - even with the boost, I had a lot of trouble with the slimes (before being Cheater McCheatypantsu). Actually, that might even have been after some stat edits to attack. I could kill them and win if I hit first, but I was down in one hit if they swung first. If that was after adding attack, then I could see them being unwinnable until you’d somehow cranked up your strength for a while (I don’t even remember if size alone does that, at this point…).

Sorry for going from hungry ghost in the shadows to force-feeding you feedback.

Haha, they have some benefits… if you feel like gambling :stuck_out_tongue:
The farm shed? You mean how Isabelle wouldn’t disappear? Yes that should be fixed. As for the double reaction, thats the first I’ve heard of that… I think I know why. I added in the conditionals to show the correct face graphic and then forgot to delete the original text. So that’s an easy fix at least.

  1. Oh that’s an idea. More than likely as I add new areas they will have some items that will end up correlating with people you’ve met before.
  2. That’s a great idea. I have a few in the works actually along those lines. It’s mostly a sprite issue really. Since she’s wearing a full outfit, the clipping will be intense. So it’s not quite high priority. Although I’m writing it down so I can do that in future.
  3. It actually does… It affects the Queen fight. If you don’t eat the food, she is double the size and has much higher stats. The dialogue also slightly changes. (only slightly though)

Fixes:

  1. Yeah, I’m going to actually change up the intro a bit. Add a bit more lore and story to it. Few extra cutscenes etc.
  2. That’s really weird. I checked on it and that shouldn’t happen without the first part working first. It’s not tied to corruption at all so I’ve got idea how that one happened.
  3. Ogre Meat is technically a thing and technically not a thing… It’s in the game, BUT, there is no Ogre enemies. So you can’t get it. That was an oversight on my part at first, then I couldn’t really find somewhere to put them until I expand some areas a bit more.
  4. She is part of the contests yes, but, her eating should be behind a wall. you can then eat the maids on the ground floor. This triggers a scene. If you eat both her dad and the security, if you haven’t beaten her fat form in the contest yet, you won’t be able to go upstairs and talk to her. If you have, then you can go up and play the scene normally. I should add a gate that stops you from interacting with the maids until you beat her first form though. Since there is a possibility to eat the maids and not fatten Tiana at all.
  5. Yeah, that goes with my initial post of saying balancing enemies is hard. I have no idea what kind of values people have when they go into the forest. Making it tricky to balance the enemies to reflect that. The idea is that it is essentially free food, but is much harder than just eating food in town. I might up the rewards in the chest to make it a little more rewarding to actually travel there. Or nerf them again. I dunno :stuck_out_tongue:

I see that there’s been another update since I played version 0.72 a couple days ago. I actually came here to ask for help because I couldn’t get the “Hero of the Village” quest started, but looking over the discussion about the requirements, it seems like they should have already been fulfilled for me? I had both slime girls at the lab and I’d reached Rank 5 in quests, but the game still insisted that the quest wasn’t available yet. Even completing all the other quests at every rank didn’t help. (If anything, it just made it possible to softlock, as the quest lists for Ranks 2-4 don’t seem to have an option to back out–hopefully that got fixed in 0.73?) If it matters, I recruited the green slime girl by losing to her 4 times, as opposed to repeatedly beating her.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing the changes to the contest hall. I gave up on the 0.72 version pretty quickly because the percentage-based filling left me at the mercy of the RNG, as others discussed. Also, the “strategy” seemed to boil down to “If you have enough room, eat. If not, rub belly.” (The same could be said of the cake-eating minigame, I think.) Really hope there’s a bit more depth to the new version.

With regard to the combat, I know it’s probably not your top priority right now, but it could really use some more options. As it is now, you don’t even get to heal up with items or escape (at least in most fights? Not sure why escaping is banned when fighting normal enemies), so all you can really do is spam your basic attack or, if you have it, Belly Slam. Guarding is pointless when you have only 1 party member and no way of predicting when the enemies will use strong attacks, and Energy Blast is too situational to be relevant most of the time. I would love to see some more skills that are powered by your weight or fullness. Some ideas off the top of my head:

  • Belly Block: Catch an attack with your belly to reduce/negate damage and possibly lower the enemy’s attack (just imagine that their weapon gets stuck in your rolls).
  • Big Burp: Disorient enemies with a loud sound and reduce fullness by a bit. Use could be restricted based on fullness (e.g. needing at least 80-90% fullness to use it).
  • Distracting Dance: Strut your stuff to make the enemies forget that they’re supposed to be fighting you. Dancing at Jigglers would be a natural fit as the unlock/powering-up condition.
  • Rest and Digest: Convert some of your fullness into HP. (We could really use some healing options in general.)
  • Sumo Stomp: Slam your weight on the ground to cause an earthquake, damaging all enemies and/or stunning them. Probably should have a high weight requirement to learn.

Oh yeah, and having more battles against multiple enemies could also go a long way toward making combat more engaging. (And having an excuse to eat a whole bunch of things instead of just one could be neat too. :stuck_out_tongue:)

I know I’ve been harping on about the combat for a while already, but there’s one more thing I’d like to mention: It feels like defensive stats have too much impact on how much damage you take. It doesn’t take very many additional points to go from being one-shot by enemies to being practically invincible. Granted, this kind of ends up working in your favor, since the lack of healing aside from sleeping means you can’t afford to fight a string of enemies that can actually hit back, but I’d rather have some healing options and more competitive battles.

Sorry if this is a lot of criticism to take in… I actually really like what you’ve done with the game so far. The way that the main character’s interactions with NPCs change as she grows is super neat, and I admire your dedication to the concept of being able to eat (almost) anyone. I’m also impressed that your sanity is still intact despite having to deal with all these bugs we keep reporting. I look forward to playing version 0.73 and any others that may follow!

Bah. I just looked over my event again as to why it couldn’t be accepted and it’s cause the conditional branch is checking for the switch to be off… not On… Which is counter intuitive since the slime girl has to join before you can actually start the damn thing. The back out option no, but you can just accept a rank 2-4 one and quit it by interacting with the board. I will edit the menu to include a quit option.

Well, you have options in what to eat this time and skills that unlock by participating in contests themselves. This requires a much higher maximum fullness though, although it can be done by being lower than your opponent. Values may need to be tweaked in future, but they should be winnable… I hope…

Yeah combat is rather lacking. Escaping will be added and some items that heal might be an idea.
There is a burp skill that is unlocked through the contest hall. The other 4 sound cool though. I wanted a Stuffing Skill to work and it to consume random amounts of food in your inventory, but trying to code that when there’s a lot of random food was a bit tricky, so I may set it up similar to Vale City’s stuffing where if you consume a particular amount of food enough, you unlock a skill to eat a bunch in quick succession.

The multiple one was opted against due to the lack of any depth in the combat. But with the new skills, I can easily make multiple enemy battles. and since they are all common events I may set it to be random. So you can either fight 1 or 2 at once.

That’s mostly with the balancing. My fear is overbuffing the enemies to the point where combat is awful and since stat gain happens every day, it’s very easy to just turtle in town for a while until you have high stats and one shot everything in the game.

Criticism is good. I can always improve things and having feedback from others gives me a direction to go in.
Hunger is non-specific. If you hunger, you eat.

My sanity is on a small thread with 2 things in particular. Both end in Hall… But that’s something for another time… :stuck_out_tongue:

How easy a fix would this be, as if you can hotfix it I’d love to be able to do the quest.
