I had the rope already when i went back, ill need to check on another save later
Can confirm you canāt cross the route 1 gap without a rope but can after you get the rope.
The game should now be working as intended!
Redownload the patch and go to the seafoam cavern after beating the Aria Island events to unlock all the new stuff. From my end it was working so I messed around with the events a bit so it should be working as intended.
Enjoy all, thanks for the heads up!
first off great game and you done a great job so far. Im really struggling with the rock blocking the temple (also im really dumb) any tips
This game is a delight! I made the mistake of not pacing myself with it and having caught up now, Iām only craving more, heh. But I love the character progression, the weight gain system is wonderful, and the bad endings are delicious. I canāt wait for more!
oh, and a brief sidenote on Bloatberries: Iāve gotten 19 of them so far and Iām guessing thereās at least one more - so Iām gonna have to keep an eye out for that last one.
This should help! I took the puzzle directly from here and itās the exact same solution.
Iām glad you enjoyed the game! And Iām surprised you found so many of them already, I thought I hid them pretty well so good job! I think I have 20 or 21 Bloatberries in the game right now, but in the next update I plan on having a ton more and plan on giving Laylith a ton more dialogue and stages!
Found a bug upon giving Lylith the 20th bloat berry she message loops to her new weight stage bugging the game out
Interesting⦠Thatās likely just some autorun event I forgot to switch. Iāll have that patched up and spiffy in no time.
can confirm 20th berry gets a dialogue loop
The dialogue is fixed! It was an auto-run event I just forgot to put a self switch on. Iāll wait until perhaps a couple more bugs revealed before throwing another update out right away. Thanks for the notice, everyone!
Can i get help with the door puzzle?
The answer is up above on the forum, a lot of people have had a trouble with it before. If you follow the steps inscribed on the wall you should be fine. I will say, as a hint, one of the questions for the answer you can find in a book in Aloewood.
We this game is a Delight and it its getting better and better just one thing when this map gets bigger it maybe time to add a Fast way to go to town to town.
I donāt know if theyāve already spoken or not, for some reason when I give bloatberrie number 20 to laylith the conversation is looping
Okay, replayed the entire game, since old save on old computer. Played through the content, kept a more open mind from my last rant on this game, always love to see improvement from developers, and really wanted to like this romp going in.
ā¦Eh? Iām just not feeling it.
Perhaps it was a mistake to binge through the content from start to finish, as I was reminded why I didnāt enjoy my time with Roundbound from last time, for the exact same reasons. But even then, the new content wasnāt really doing much for me either, and I think I just gotta accept that maybe this isnāt my jam and I donāt think much will change that.
Lengthy Review Underneath
Itās very technically competent, I only had a few bugs, no softlocks, and the minigames are really well implemented (well, Chicken Chase is, Fishing Frenzy isā¦unintuitive and not that fun, to say the least). I appreciate the new touches like the Inspect feature, the face changes on different sizes and having a bit more to do with them, all the new sidequests and how I can visually see who I need to talk to, and the new UI. The game feels nice to play, which is something I canāt even give games like Seeds of Destiny or Apostles that honor. This update really makes the game feel so much more complete, like its own product.
The problem is it still kind of struggles to justify itself as an RPG, even a fetish one.
Thereās still not really much of a plot, the girls donāt really choose to advertise themselves as Ariaās heroes. So it makes the āGo around and fatten everyoneā deal feelsā¦supplementary and not the main focus. The girls themselves donāt really have much character, thereās a lot of scenarios where its obvious they donāt have their own āvoiceā so to speak (similar dialects, behaviors, swears reactions to events, whether its beating a boss, celebrating, talking with each other, or woeing at how fat they got). I do appreciate the new mystery element, with Ariaās backstory, but its difficult to feel invested when we only get 2 scenes with her and the actual interactions Robin has with her are small and mostly expository. I do feel like Iām making more of an impact, now, even with how naturally gluttonous the people of Demarara are. So I do want to be her priestess, I just want to know more about the mission as a whole and why are these the heroes Aria has chosen (Especially given how they bitch about getting fat a lot. Itās like a Christian that loathes to read the Bible. And I normally like despairing over weight gain over becoming lustful over it. Sort of ties back into the voice issue).
Gameplay-wise, the structure of it basic and unrewarding. Given how sidequests and events are the main fuel for both the fetish and getting from point-to-point, itās hard to feel like its a fulfilling experience. I do the job, they eat a lot, quest complete. Thereās no effort to the fetch quests, no real event chain, and no build up. The most I struggled for was getting an egg to make the Caramel Cake for the belly dancer. And sure, its nice to keep things simple, it helps keeps things organized but this is all the sidequests amount to. Do the fetch quest thatās 2 minutes away from the start, see the sprite change, done. One of the two should change, either make the sidequests more involved as we move to area after area, or make the fetish sequence more involved. The sidequests are the core of the game, especially since the main adventure feels so ancillary. So treat them with more care (which also means give us a quest log. just sayinā¦)
Combat is still basic from last year, except now the enemyās damage isā¦really absurd. The Windy Plains encounters were doing more damage to me than the actual bosses! I would kind of like the overtuned damage, if it actually meant I had to change my strategy. But Rapid Slash and Spark says otherwise⦠They are just still too reliable, and now with the new Holy Earrings I can add Big Burp to the list of the boring rotation for bosses, who all except the dragon are pushovers who barely can scratch me at my thinnest. RPGMaker is hard to make engaging combat, I understand and I donāt expect too much. But I do feel like, when sidequests reward me with new skills, I should want to use them. There should be more interesting effects, interesting challenges, at least interesting events. You had it at the start with the slimes that stuff themselves in you, and the āwolvesā that double attack. But past that, thereās justā¦nothing to these encounters. They are easy, forgettable, and, again, basic.
Also if you gonna have getting fat cut into your agility, find some way to change the Escape chance formula. Kind of fucked that if you want to enjoy being big nā hefty, you have to deal with more trash mobs.
Ultimately, while I canāt say I didnāt have fun, I did had to push myself to see things to the end. The game is, if not better than it was when I played it last year, at least bigger and more ambitious, which I guess is all I can ask for from these games. You still have a good amount of work to do to get the game feeling more cohesive and focused, but the pieces are being built and being glued together bit by bit. You just have to ask yourself more what do you want this to do as an RPG?
Hey, I found a bug. Whenever you inspect Madeline, the game displays the description of her blob form regardless of her current weight.
Is this after the dungeon event? If so itās just a little switch I need to turn off.
I appreciate all the feedback! Iāll continue to try and make improvements to the things that you mentioned. With each update I feel myself getting better at making the game- Roundbound started out as my first ever project on RPG Maker game and Iām still trying to work with the bad coding/lazy writing I had from the start without rewriting everything.
With that said- I have a pretty good idea of what I need to do for the next update. Iāll try to make the story a lot more cohesive, the characterās personalities more specific, and the battles more enjoyable. There are a lot of good games on here and Iām determined to glue all the parts together to make a game that can stand among them
ty great game boss Round o7
Really great stuff @Round, I was not expecting all the new pixel art! I do love games with ābad endsā, I feel its the strong point for RPG games, and your execution is quite good!
Keep up the good work!
Yes, but Iāve overwritten my pre-dungeon saves so Iām not sure if it happens before the dungeon. I can replay the early stages to be sure, but I likely wonāt have time for this until saturday. Itād be faster if someone else who still has pre-dungeon saves test it.
