Reality of Dating - an online date

I’ve been in the vicious cycle of starting a new project, realizing how big it is and pivoting to a new idea for a good while. This time however, I managed to salvage a little online date experience from what I had. I polished it enough to (in my opinion) be actually fun.

Without further ado, here’s a link to the itch.io page.

The idea of this project was to make a whole dating sim, but I pivoted in making it a stand-alone date. I’m going to treat it as an accurate representation of my current skill in writing, drawing and programming (although you probably won’t notice it, the message system is a semi-implemented scripting language and I would need to make it into a fully featured programming language if I would want to expand the game scope).

If you like what you see and want to help me stay afloat while polishing my skill, check out my Patreon. The first tier starts at only 1€.

Also, for some reason I can only add one “Platform” tag, despite it working on Linux, Windows and Mac.

I’d like it a bit more if every time I clicked the next button it would show the next line instead of arbitrarily making sure to give me enough time to read, because I can just read faster. Feels limiting to read a visual novel with a maximum reading speed.

That’s an easy fix. I’ve added “Chat Speed” slider to the “Preferences” menu.

when i download it and open it up i get this right away

Thanks for the bug report. I’ve apparently forgotten to remove the compiled *.rpyc file that is not really needed.

I’ve updated the build, please let me know, if it’s working now.
