This is my very first game and I am surprised I actually managed to ‘finish’ it before the deadline!
I wasted the whole first week with things I had to take out of the game last minute because I wouldn’t have made it in time otherwise. It’s a visual novel made with ren’py and Virt-a-mate.
When i needed to choose who cursed me, i got this error after choosing option homeless girl
Other options work fine though
Ps. It would be nice if you decreased amount of clicks needed to make a drink, just to 3-5 at most.
I want to enjoy other endings, but fact that i need to click so many times during making drinks, is just annoying. It does not help that i need to bruteforce through drinks choices because i’ve no idea about names of drinks.
I’m very sorry about that! Thank you for telling me about those issues! I added an updated version to the itch.io page. Thank you for playing the game and I hope you have fun!
really liked this/. Honestly I’d love to see a full game with these characters cuz there’s definitely a lot of room to expand on these characters and storylines. Great job
And that was actually kind of the plan! I wanted to see if people liked this and if they are, I’ll make a new game/ alternative story with these and more characters in the hometown of a certain girl who strikes up a conversation with you on day 2
I was able to get everything but 6, 9, and 10 on the play through. I tried as many combos that I could think of, so not sure what I had to do in order to get those.
It was a fun game and I definitely had a good time playing through some of the different branching storylines. The renderings are only okay, but they definitely work for a Game Jam game and are good enough to not take away from enjoying the different branching storylines. The characters themselves were very well done and I enjoyed their interactions. Nice work!
This is a nice story with more endings than I expected given the time frame. There’s definitely a lot to expand upon here, would love to see more.
You say there’s 10 endings but even when following the guide I can only assume that some of these are different paths that lead to the same ending scene. Also when I reached ending 7 (or 8? Memory is fuzzy) the game then moved straight into the next ending instead of returning to the main menu.
Not a bad first game at all! Plenty of content to chew through and the character models were impressive with their burgeoning shapes. A promising start with some takeaways to learn and refine. The lack of sounds was a shame as some sound effects could help ease through some of the transitions, but given the eye-watering game size I doubt much more could be squeezed into the files - note for the future to optimize and compress your images where possible!
.
You have the solid foundation to a good story and VN. Just needs more of a hook with either more personable characters and impactive personalities or within the premise itself, which sounds and visual effects can also help to cement the story within the reader’s mind.
An entertaining visual novel with plenty of endings to explore. I really enjoyed how much choices mattered and not only that, you have to make very specific choices to find out whats really going on. I did not see the outcome coming and thoroughly enjoyed all the different endings. I'm also impressed by the quality of the models and writing which really helped illustrate this entry brilliantly. All characters were unique and fun, even some you only saw for a single scene had their own intrigue to them. One thing that was prevailent was the lack of sound. Some simple music in the background and maybe a few more sound effects would have really been the icing on the cake. There were also a few technical issues like certain end screens not showing and an instance where for some reason it began reeling off a few other endings after ending 6. But for a very first game, very impressive.
