Seeds of Destiny

I don’t know why but whenever Valorie attacks it shows the animation for the Magical Egg Growth.

Strange, i’ll look into it. I would maybe try entering the demon nursery portal and then leaving it. That maybe should help.

Link for Android ? Please.

I don’t have an android version but there is an app called Joiplay that allows you to play rpg maker games on your phone I believe. Several people have mentioned that working for this game.

I’ve tried to make a specific .apk (android version) for phones but for some reason it doesn’t compress the game sound files correctly resulting in errors.

Enjoying the game a lot, you did good work.
Got bugged into a wall though, and have to reload an older save.
I was walking into the store in Cedar Town (the one run by an old man), and somehow clipped into the wall at the bottom left corner and got stuck.
Softlocked save is still there.

Honestly, for a first bug, it’s not too bad. I’d rather not lose a full hour of progress, but whatever. Still been a good time so far.

So to give everyone a heads up, most of my news for the game comes from my discord of deviantart so I may be a little late getting news here. Still continuing work on the game, looking at a possible release at the end of the month to maybe early March.

That said, I do a poll on my discord, deviantart, and patreon for monthly characters to be added to the game. Would you interested in having me post the monthly art here? I don’t want to clutter too much of the game discussion with my pictures but if it something that the community would be interested in, I can look to adding some here.

Here are a couple of art commission characters added to the game. The last two will be in the upcoming game build later this month.

Sooo, I’ve played through this and I think I got nearly everything done and had a lot of fun doing so. But I’ve got two questions:

  • Can you enter the pyramid in the current build?
  • Where do I get wings for the floating temple?( It says, the puzzle is solveable in chapter three, so please enlighten this blind soul  )
Anyway, really enjoyed the game so far and now eagerly waiting for the next update.^^

Neither the pyramid or the wings are accessible right now.

The upcoming build that should be out at the end of the month will include the fertility temple dungeon in the forest west of Royal City. The next update, which will likely be a month or two will have the pyramid.

The reason it has been a bit since the last update is that I took a break from the holidays as well as several new maps were added as well as map revamps. In the case of the wings, that will be dropped as the new map revamp of the floating temple will have a new layout.

Alright, that answers my questions. Thanks.

You can try to add another production level to the fairy village, so that the queen finally sends out the fairy blessing (new item), and the other fairies reach a higher production level, move at the slowest speed or simply not move? (I really think I can have this little easter egg because their dialogue is so interesting)
If you can add it, thank you very much, I believe someone will like it :kissing_heart:

With the new art for the fairy queen, (see above), I do plan on making some updates. I’ve pretty much gone as large as the fairies can get unless I do some custom sprite work, which I may look into. Also I am looking to adding in a small side zone to the fay forest where it will be easier to hunt monsters and “Bless corrupted fairies”. I can possibly look into it, Thanks!

Thank you very much and look forward to the next update.

I would like to report a bug. For some reason when I enter an old merchant’s building in Ceder Town I spawn in the box to the left.

Review Time~

I’m pretty sure I’ve achieved pretty much all you can do in SoD. It was an enjoyable experience from beginning up to the end of the build to say the least. If I could sum up this game in a single word it would be charming. SoD was an oddly unique type of RPG-maker fetish game that, while not mind blowing, was different from its contemporaries in a good way.

Characters:
The main three party members border between fairly ordinary and actually pretty investing. Each member definitely has their separate characteristics that make them stand out and, with how this game is going, I feel like we’re going to learn more about them as the longer the adventure goes on.

Leah - as the neutral good of the crew, is fairly substantial as a character when you look at everything else surrounding her besides her “plot”. Being that she is a Warrior class, I took as she was taught at an early age by her father whenever he got back home from adventuring and simply just uses whatever little training she got from him and makes the most of it. In regards to her personality, it matches up well with the basic protagonist template. Positive, always wants to do the right thing, and just a good person in general. Along with silent protags, it’s these protagonists’ that are usually influenced by the world and people around them and not themselves, which is not an exception for Leah. She’s like this close to being three-dimensional, but considering the game is still being developed, I look forward to whatever happens to her.

Valorie - as the lawful good of the crew, I think she is my favorite out of the three so far. Unlike her two other party members, she’s a round character, meaning that she has multifaceted personalities that give her depth. These two personalities in question are her horny/comedic personality and her noble duty personality. It’s not much, but it’s at least a personality. In terms of story, her involvement is perfectly justified and makes sense given both her character and her status as a captain in service of the King to fight against the demon army. I look forward to whatever is planned for her.

Sanura - because there hasn’t been that much progression in story since we got her, I’ll keep her section brief. As the true neutral of the party, is fairly likable from what we have of her. Her being an outsider to the conflict but still wishing to help out the party because Leah saved her and this is her form of thanks is a good way of getting her as a party member. I can’t wait for more Sanu in the future.

Combat:
Because you can make the game as difficult or as easy as you want thanks to the toggleable difficulty in the settings menu, I had more than enough fun playing on 150% difficulty. In terms of combat, it’s pretty rad for an RPG maker game. Unique sprites for the party characters is quite awesome indeed. Random encounters aren’t frustratingly frequent but they can get annoying when the specific enemies you fight are frustrating. The bats in the Haunted Mansion are my example as they have a hell of a lot of HP and there’s always three of them in an encounter. The party members themselves are also fairly distinct, but the implementation of the tomes is really broken. Because you can buy multiple tomes and give any of them to any party member, your entire party can share 90% of each others magic skills if you buy three of each tome you find. My recommendation to solve this small issue is to have any tome you buy from a tome vendor be purchasable once and unsellable. Besides the tomes, Special skills are quite interesting. Although I rarely used them as I wanted to save Power for more Divine Seeds, whenever I did use them they were game great. I only hope other party members get more Special skills besides Leah.

Story:
A frankly great story, especially for a fetish game. Lore is one of my favorite aspects of media (coming from a Vinesauce fan, I am very critical when it comes to lore) and even this game makes me think a bit. I also like how you portray the demons in the game too, with how not all demons are inherently evil and can have morals like a normal human. The concept of Divine Seeds is also really fresh idea in regards to fetish games. Overall, I like the concepts presented and the story itself is interesting. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I almost forgot this was a fetish game when reading the opening exposition.

Concluding Thoughts:
I thought the game was game was unique and had a lot of effort put into it. It was enjoyable almost the entire time I played and that was mostly thanks to all the cool events that occurred and the story that was unfolding. I say this a lot in my reviews for games on this forum but I truthfully liked playing this game to see the plot of the story. It’s these these types of RPG maker fetish games that I believe are the best mainly because you can just feel how much effort was put in just to everything to make certain things stand out. For comparison, Some Bullshit is fairly bare when it comes to things like combat but it makes up for it with it’s three-dimensional and memorable characters and the fantastic art that makes it come to life. In regards to your game, the mechanics (Divine Seeds) are in service to developing the story and characters, which are the things that make the game great for me at least. I can only hope that development for SoD is going smoothly, because I absolutely cannot wait for the next update to come.

Scoring: 50 Divine Seeds / 10

Thanks, its been quite the adventure making this game. I do want to give credit to my story writer “Erronwolf” who has helped build the story behind the characters and the lore. I believe he helped out with the story in “Some Bullshit” as well. Thanks for the review and look forward to seeing what people thing as the game gets ever closer to being finished.

Updated the game to a new build. I will have the build up shortly.

Quick refrence, after completing royal city content, you can now access the abandoned fertility temple dungeon, west of royal city. You will have climb up the temple, save dryads, as well as watch out for plants thay will try and force feed you life energy resulting in the seeds within you growing out of control.

Also updated the combat interface and combat sprites, this however means that you will have to start a new game since old saves are not compatible, I did add a debug room however that will allow you to skip content if you wish to jump straight into the new stuff.

Hope you all enjoy, there may be bugs so I might have to update the builds from time to time.
