Side Game: The Architects Dungeon

Hey, if you all saw my post on Runic Growth then you know about how that game will be put on hold until I can get my self out of the financial situation that I am in. In the mean time I didn’t want to leave people hanging so I got to work on a project that is relatively smaller in scope.

It’s called the Dungeons Architect: It is a game where you run an inn that adventures will rest at while they get ready to enter the local dungeon. That dungeon happens to be your player character. If they get to your core it is game over. Instead of killing the adventures and having your dungeon gain attention the goal is to fatten them up until they give up on diving into your dungeon.

Synthesize ingredients together to cook food that secretly gives them debuffs set up rooms to weaken their self control, and create dungeons that will confuse and feed them into submission.

As of right now there is a demo up on my patreon but as soon as I set up the game with the Item Synthetization and Dungeon Building I will give a proper public demo release but as of now there is only the restaurant portion of the game active.

I already have the dungeon build code ready it just needs the adventures and the Item Synth system to come together.

the game will work as a mixture of Recettear with the Atelier series, and for those that know it the Dungeon build system of the PSP game Dungeon Maker Haunting Ground.

Again once I have the Inn management portion put together with the synth system I will release the game with a public demo, but if you want to see what I have made so far you can go to my patreon and play it there. The assets currently being used are merely placeholders but there are currently I believe 9 weight classes in the game.

Recettear and Atelier are great influences to follow! Are you saying the innkeeper is the same character as the dungeon core?

Either way, the character sketch is very promising. Love the expressions!

Yes, she’s the dungeon core keeper the core acts as her heart.

Updated the game!

Now Adventures can come in and request lodging. There’s nothing much you can do with them now other than feed them but that will soon change, now that I have created them I can set up the Craft system and have the intended food effects take place. I already have a mock up planed so stay tuned for that. After I do all that I can then finally put in the dungeon creation code I’ve been sitting on and have a public demo for everyone to play.

I’ve Done IT! the crafting system along with the item traits system has been Implemented!

With this the dungeon build system can finally be put in! I’ve been sitting on the dungeon build code for quite some time now so I’m happy that I can put it in.

If you have played the Atelier series you can get an understanding if what to do for this system is a mix of Sofie with the freedom of Ryza.
