Are there male characters?
There will be support for adding custom characters, but I will not be adding any fat robots.
Yes.
Perfect. I will be watching and waiting for when itās released.
So I can put own species in this game like zefussian?
There will be support for adding custom characters.
iām rather curious to the writing myself. the first game was really well written in terms of humour, got a few chuckles out of me, not to mention some quotes are still stuck in my head to this day.
iām wondering how youāll tackle it this time, knowing for a fact this wonāt be the pilotās first rodeo as a walking battery
Is it possible to control 2 or multiple characters this sequel?
Like someone charging its battery while other guard this place.
ā¦How about settle in and colonize that planet?
The tone wonāt be all that different, pretty much going for the same vibe but expanded. Pilot will be a bit more resigned to the weight gain though.
Nah, thatās a bit more than I was planning for this one. Besides, youād miss all the in-between stages!
If thereās going to be multiple characters in this one, how will dialogue work? What I mean is for example:
Will the pilotās be exclusive, and never see one another, or will they both be stranded, with the player just controlling one?
Will the male pilot be there watching and commenting with Sen as the female piolet gains weight or vice versa? (also male piolet nice!)
Will the pilotās have different personalityās, or just be pronoun/genderswaps essentially?
Also unrelated, but do you have any plans for alternate endings, I.E. a alternate ending where instead of getting off planet, the slimes fill the pilot up, a alternate ending where Sen goes haywire, ect.
Characters will be unlocked with you being able to switch between them at a main base kind of area, with (hopefully, given time costs) different dialogue/interactions depending on who youāre playing. They will be totally different characters with different designs (heads pretty much, making the large sprites and the boobless sprites took a while already, I donāt want to get into different body shapes/suits for a loooong time).
As for different endings, Iām not sure Iād want to go that route. I have something a little less open-ended in mind.
I hope to see this actually be a thing some day. I enjoyed the last one, and I am curious as to what could be brought from a sequel.
hi chubberdy so I try 2 follow u in twitter but the twitter said I was ban by u, so can u check were u meant or accident ban me? my twitter name: @Thomasc14683762
Oh yeah, I probably did because your profile looks like a bot. Iāve unblocked you but you might want to get a profile pic since your handle is very similar to a botās.
Ring a ding ding itās time for an update! And this time with an actual alpha.
Iāve gotten the game in a mostly functioning state. No story or saving yet though, and there are still plenty of values to balance and tweaks to the map and the enemies that need to be made. Iāve included a changelog in the main post if youāre curious, as well as an FAQ.
Moving forward the next few major things to work on are:
- Increasing enemy variety
Iām planning on enemies a little more complex than the slime variants from the first game that will hopefully be a little more interesting to defend against. - Cutscene system
Gotta have story at some point. The outline is there but none of the dialogue has been written so far. - Adaptive music
Schei has written some new music, and it sounds great! I havenāt put it in yet, or started on the code for the different tracks based on weight, but thatāll be a returning feature.
Bug reports are as always greatly appreciated.
Iām feeling pretty stupid, but how do I build stuff? I got as far as āQā and clicking on the thing I want to build, but thatās it. Holding down W to vent doesnāt seem to do anything?
Is the blueprint of the building showing up, and if so is it red?
Enjoying this build a lot so far, didnāt really appreciate how much more ambitious this was until now. ^^ But I do have a question, was there any specific reason for moving the build menu to Q instead of down/s?
It was originally, but when I added the elevators it was annoying to keep moving down if I wanted to build while walking over one.
I just realized I missed a step, so Iām good now, haha.
Ahhh, gotcha, that makes sense.
