I appear to have gotten stuck in making progress, as I can’t afford 2700 energy for suit/building research, and I don’t have access to any suit max capacity upgrades. Also, I noticed waiting for crystals for upgrades does start to get tedious with how long it takes.
This is how future content is handled. She’s not done growing yet, but later sizes aren’t implemented yet, so there’s no size-up option.
There’s a change this update where you can sit on a Level 3 miner and transfer energy into it to increase its productivity. It’s still tedious, but it’s less tedious than if you don’t know the feature exists.
Damn, I was gonna reply with this but it looks like you did my job for me!
I enjoyed it! Kinda has a light Factorio vibe to it. Looking forward to see where this leads!
I can understand that, but there are images on this channel showing much bigger sizes than what I was able to achieve, with one for an upgrade for over 12k energy, where as I couldn’t even afford 2,700 energy, which makes me wonder if I found some kind of glitch or am missing something.
Did you build a Suit Upgrade Center? That’s what threw me when I thought I was capped. The game could probably use a “New Building(s) Unlocked” notification prompt to inform the player.
Also slight bug found: when loading up the game, it launches you straight into a new game with the initial dialogue; whilst you can interrupt it and load up a save, it’ll still play out that starting dialogue in your loaded game.
Yeah, I already had the suit upgrade center, but after buying the suit capacity increase a few times it went away and never came back. And I just played again now with the same thing happening.
Do you have fusion power? It’s hard to tell if things are gated off and unlocked by other research options.
If you’ve exhausted everything in both the upgrade center and research station, as well as built and upgraded what you can, could just be a bug I’m afraid.
Yes, I have not just fusion reactor, but fusion reactor Mk2. And I can’t afford fusion reactor Mk3. All the other buildings are max level and I can’t afford any suit upgrades that cost 2700 energy or more. I’ve also tried destroying and rebuilding the suit upgrade center to see if that brings back the max capacity upgrade, but it didn’t work.
I played one of the earlier versions but only the latest just today. Gotta say I like where this is heading, the sprite size changing, movement speed, etc gives a real nice sense of heft to the character, and the banter between them and the robot is nice. Definitely will be looking forward to seeing where this goes (and grows).
I did notice one bug though, in that slimes already attacking a wall seem like they can continue attacking while dialogue is happening, but turrets can’t attack back.
I think I just had an epiphany as to why I find this game particularly appealing - the sprite size! After playing so many games with miniature chibi sprites, it’s refreshing to play a game with a decently large and detailed character sprite. One where you can really visualise the gain as the character fills up more of the visual space. Kudos to @Chubberdy for the great character design as well!
how do I save ?, i tried clicking everything but nothing happens
It says there is a pause menu so I’d assume it would be there, but I don’t remember seeing a pause menu.
there is no indication that a save occurs when you use the menu to save in a slot but you are able to load that slot after saving.
Where are you seeing this images? The only place where there are sprites bigger than the ones in the latest release are with me, and I haven’t posted them here.
Thought I squashed that one, I’ll have to take a look at it again.
There are no mouse controls, so in the menus you’ll have to use arrows and space to save. There’s no indication that it’s happened yet though.
It looks like you haven’t added 0.4.0 to the thread header, so maybe they’re using 0.3.0.
This was with 4.0, it’s getting a bit late so I’ll try to reproduce it tomorrow
I was referring to Super_Tails issue, sorry for not being clear about that.
Oh shoot, you’re right, I forgot to update the main post. Fixed.
Oh wow, im so far loving the direction that this little game is taking. ^^ I already love how the character you play as waddles around at the hugest size you can get to currently, but am i to understand that there might be even bigger sizes that the character can achieve still that are not in the game as of yet? If so, then that is a very nice surprise to an already well put together experience that i cant wait to see and have them waddle around at even bigger sizes to come. ^^
