Starbound Mod: Starpounds Big Fatties

There once was an order of enlightened Glitch, gathering under the power of lipomancy. Now their heretical keeps are abandoned, watched over by their faithful wisps.

Hello there! I have a question for the devs! The angel mod is gonna be updated soon and I was wondering if there would be an update to work alongside this update?

Been awhile huh?
Our second big dungeon, the Ponderous Keep is now here!
Alongside quite a few changes.

Someone told me this mod was just updated to work with this new skunk race mod. That’s pretty cool!

I can’t seem to get any starting perk with an XP bonus (i.e. Glutton) to actually distribute the experience out, does anyone else have the same problem?

Been playing the mod for some time now and I couldn’t find this “Priestess of Velhanu”
If it’s actually there, could anyone tell me where it is and what it actually does ?
Sorry in advance if the answer was already given somewhere else

Follow up to this, it seems to only be an issue with the custom species I’m using (Sylveoid), is there some reason for this or perhaps an incompatibility for custom species?

(Edit: Ok, I figured it out I seem, the perks that give you bonuses seem to be there as a “refund” for species that already have said perk, like Glutton or Pred or a Throg. It wasn’t the most well explained, admittedly.)

I did happen to notice another issue, the invisible armor pieces at the store can’t be bought

Edit: Had to buy them twice, like user below said.

Try buying them twice.

Not sure if it’s intentionally disabled or not. But they do exist in the files. For me at least; the lua of the priestess isn’t properly attached to it’s model; so it’s invisible. You can however spawn them in via commands; but again they are invisible.

Interacting with them will result in the same as the bird priest from the story campaign. You gain a random buff for about 5-10 minutes.

Then again it could also be a conflict of mods. But it does exist in the files.

I can’t get vore to work. I’ve got the skill in my inventory, and i’m trying to use it by clicking on animals and such but it’s not doing anything?

it depends on the trait you chose

with ruminant you can only eat small animals and with voracious you can eat up to people (you can upgrade both traits to eat people)

but it also depends on what slot you put it in as that is the mouse button you’ll need to click

R is the right mouse button and L is the left mouse button

I ran into a bug/glitch while I was in a Floran Feast Hall. I accidentally closed a door on myself at the bottom floor of the main room and my Skunk character fell into a cave. I was at the blob weight stage and standing directly in the center of the door. So, I went to repeat the bug at my base and it happened again on my ship (Level 7 human ship).

Since ships are surrounded by invisible solid blocks, I got sent upward into a spare room.
At my base, I was able to repeat the bug consistently with my character being sent the shortest distance directly up or down. Not sure if this is fixable, but it seems easy enough to avoid.

Is there a particularly easy way to farm meat in this mod? I’d love to turn one of my bases into a junk food factory.

It’s not automatic, but you can easily get meat with Betabound (It’s on the recommended list).
Duel-wield a pair of Hunting Knives (Foraging Table) and travel across a Forest planet at night.

Hunting knives increase drop-rate, Monsters spawn more frequently at night, and the forest has more unique monsters that drop meat compared to Lush planets.

By end of the night, you should have somewhere between 10-25 steak and a assortment of bacon, ribs, ham, and poultry depending on the monster generator. You might want to find a refrigerator beforehand.

Sidenotes: You can upgrade the knives at a tool table with a upgrade kits. The scavenger suit causes two items to drop sometimes, but you have to find that.

Huh, interesting. You know, I swore that the Meatberry would have something you can build to have it make meat for you, considering what’s said about it. Wonder if it’s possible to make it into a plant(s) that make meat, or unlock the ability to make seeds from it.

Well if you don’t mind using another mod you can use this to turn Boneboo into other types of meat.

You can make an AFK steak farm if you have access to at least 1 Mother Poptop like shown here https://imgur.com/pEQs7Gw its an early game solution and easy to make as NPCs in this game are extremely dumb.

I see, well thank you for that explanation, I was pretty confused !

There’s dungeons now?! I ought to do another playthrough soon. Last I played, there were only like three enemies.
