stories vs. action (games)

Yeah I get where you’re coming from. Gaming for me is escapism. Its not dealing with real life for a little bit at the end of the day. So making my own arbitrary “end goal” is just a bit too much like real life for me - even if the game world is populated with dragons and pixies - its asking me derive meaning and purpose instead of handing me something to get my mind away from technical solutions, squabbling children and financial budgeting. That being said, I do like a good RPG. It might seem contrary to some of what I’ve just said - but its pure escapism to me and usually has the most interesting characters and or stories. I pick things about my character - but I’m not asked to build a whole life for them, and there’s quests to keep me invested, keep me motivated to keep moving to see what’s over the next hill, and who or what I might meet there.

If you’ll forgive me for blowing my own trumpet - if you like animal girls and decent stories (well, I think it is anyway) you might be interested in my VN Weightcraft Chronicles: New Dawn if you’ve not played it already. Currently, only one animal girl actually in the game but there will be others.
