A mix of reasons, mainly a lack of motivation. But also the design itself is just not easy to build on. It was my first game and I didn’t actually map out how it should go before making it which in hindsight was very dumb.
Ultimately continuing to make that game would just be more trouble than it would be worth. Might make something else though.
I’ve definitely thought about it, its been something I have debated. Ultimately I’d have to figure out how the setting would go, if I’d include choices, and how I’d do renders going forward.
Also, and this is apropos of nothing but not enough people appreciate my Tanuki City joke as a play on Raccoon City. To the point that I completely forgot I named it that until 5 minutes ago.
Heh, doesn’t any project ever always have dumb stuff that later on people wish they’d done differently?
Anyway you made something cool and learned stuff from it so that’s a pretty successful project to me.
There has been some new interest in this project recently and plenty of people that are first time players. It had been awhile since I had played myself, and with some of the questions coming up pushing the limits of my memory. I decided to do another playthrough and that got me thinking, “Why not make a walkthrough for this?”
So, with @moonslashx’s permission, that is exactly what I decided to do. There are some scenes and content that I feel a new player would easily miss. Feel free to check it out and hopefully helps anyone that might be stuck or missing some scenes.
I wonder if someone will ever add a fan added stuff, the art style and gaining was really neat. Maybe im just a degen but i will say it was well made despite some hiccups. Hope the creator is okay where ever they are…
I have a walkthrough if you need it. But to salvage metal you just walk up to one of the metal spawns and click on it (when it’s glowing which indicates that it’s available to be picked up.)
