Terlium Chronicles - Another World (Demo Build)

A slight update - with a LOT of help from AimiIsFat - We’ve prettied up the page for Terlium Chronicles (with their designwork as the new title logo), reposting the new thumbnail here (and going to edit the front to include the new logo) - and a slight announcement that soon, I may make a Patreon for donations and such. Just need to figure what would be good prices and rewards.

Hey I’m been playing this game for a while now and I enjoy it but when do the characters start gaining weight

Howdy there! As stated above, the first bit happens after Chapter 7, after you beat Fake Gregorio, return to Ethelburg and do Arla’s sidequests, then go to Karla’s house.

There is also a possession sidequest, that has expansion and height growth - after defeating Fake Gregorio, continue into the north half of Altheim, and west of Kaninsia/South of Altheim there is a lone mansion.

As for the actual WG side quest I have in mind - it’s not complete yet. While I have the bones for it started, I’ve been waiting to get more portraits done like the prior examples before I complete it.

There is a beta build on the Patreon for the applicable paid tiers - while it doesn’t have the quest in its entirety, it does have the fat sprites and the building blocks for the event itself, if one is curious.

As someone who primarily uses Linux, including for the development of multiple RPG Maker titles, I appreciate that you’re going out of the way for Mac/Linux builds… but unfortunately RPG Maker MV’s Linux support is pretty close to completely broken, and while it’s fixable it might or might not be worth the effort.

  • RPG Maker MV/MZ games run in nwjs, an offline Chromium-based browser package. The version shipped with MV for Linux hasn’t been updated since 2018 and I think the Linux deployment option was removed from MZ altogether. This just kinda breaks on a lot of systems - most Ubuntu Linux builds at least up until 2024 will only generate non-fatal fontconfig errors, but other stuff like SteamOS, Fedora, Arch Linux, etc. might just crash immediately. This can be solved by getting a newer Linux 64-bit version of nwjs and replacing the contents of the RPG Maker MV editor’s nwjs-lnx folder with the contents from the download, although this might also cause (harmless) nwjs profile error popups when starting the game.

  • Unlike Windows, most Linux filesystems are case-sensitive by default. This means that, where Windows would treat $Mulao.png and $MuLao.png as the same file, the Linux version will error out when starting a new game, as tit tries to find $MuLao.png but the file shipped with the game is $Mulao.png (or, well, $Mulao.rpgmvp). Running the WIndows version on Linux via compatibility tools like Wine or Proton works around this issue altogether.

  • The age and lack of updates for RPG Maker MV also presents some problems for macOS users: MV and MZ only ship nwjs files for Intel-based Mac systems. When I was testing games I built on MZ, I couldn’t get those exports to run on ARM64-based Macs (anything with an Apple M1 chip or newer, so basically any Mac post-2020), though the same might not be true for the older nwjs versions MV exports games with. My M1 Macbook is being loaned out indefinitely so I can’t really check at the moment. You can use a newer Mac OS X ARM64 build of nwjs to create a build of the game that works natively on Apple Silicon Macs, but that wouldn’t be backwards-compatible with Intel Macs, so it’s a pain in the ass all around.

All the girls will be fat in the future, but does the fat side quest require all the girls to join the party?

By the time you will be able to access the quest, all of the mandatory characters will have joined you.

The portraits? I am adding them in as I am getting them done, but I have not updated a build just yet.
