Sounds like a great Idea. Started a personal project recently took me like 2 days to make a vending machine that wouldn’t let you go into negtive money.

Somebody who knows how to make that sort of stuff work would be a big help to first time devs

Until I get this up and going you are welcome to shoot me a message if you need any help

Thanks I’ll reach out if I get hard stuck somewhere
So far I’ve been able to fix issues as they come up with several hours of banging my head off the wall until something clicks.

That’s how I did it. I also learnt to reject any advice on the net and find my own way of doing things. To me the solutions often feels simpler, if a little mroe labour intensive, when I do it that way.

Yeah that’s been my experience so far I tried the default shop system they teach in the tutorial and hated how it worked so I built the vending machine from scratch. equal parts rewarding and annoying but for somebody who has never touched coding before it taught me how to research and make something mostly “original” instead of just ctrl c + ctrl v the whole way to the end

Good. If you need a snippet of code for a store with several items you know where to find me

I have started making a kit for those wanting to start coding in quest. I think it will include a base file, several notes of useful code and a beginner’s guide. It will not be done anytime soon, but it is something I will be working on when I have a bit of time and want to give back to the community. When I have something to upload I will put it on my itch page.

Help me focus on the parts you’d like to see first.

A lot of you guys already had some wishes fulfilled with my new release yesterday. I have updated the questionnaire to add new code, items and rooms you may want to see in the finished product. Give it a whirl, and I will do my best for 0.3

The how to document is coming along. It’s currently at about 16 pages with more or less useful how-tos, hints, tips and code. More to come, but already (at least I think so) a useful piece of documentation. Give me some feedback if something is unclear.

New rooms and items you can vote for have been added, so reposting this! https://forms.gle/NQ2Cy56NZP6v59YWA
