I know it won’t be popular with some people here, but if you need images for your game and can’t make them yourself or get permission from models, one (potentially temporary) workaround might be to use AI images
Going to throw out in the open that gojicks decided to charge $1.99 for the “blindfold edition” of their demo that’s posted in this thread while the problematic demo on their itch is still free.
I wish there was a way to report sketchy behavior to get threads likes these removed because at this point, it just feels predatory. Feels like this has happened one too many times now from developers like gojicks that make all these promises, touting their project like the greatest thing ever despite the problems with them, and squeezing money out of people however they can.

Extremely disappointing in members of this community that do not care about the putrid ethics of using someone’s image without their consent in this manner. Like, idc what yall think about Ai art or whatever, this is a picture of a real woman being used without her consent in fetish porn.
That’s vile, and it upsets me to see people saying “the game is good anyway” and to see that mods have reportedly reviewed this and deemed it okay.

If your initial response (before being flagged and removed) to my criticism is “I can charge the blindfold edition demo for whatever I want in a capitalist economy, get a job to afford a $1 demo,” you clearly missed the point of the message. You’re not beating the scammer and grifter allegations with both your actions and words. This isn’t even taking into account all the drama with using real people’s photos or how you steal images from the internet for your “masterpiece.”
For your sake, rather than respond immaturely to criticism, focus on providing evidence that you have a license or permission to using the photos and likeness of whoever had the misfortune to get put in a fetish game. Create your own photos to try and better capture what you want from a prop or environment than lazily grabbing it from google. Stop coming off as a grifter and scammer by actually showing progress on the game’s coding or licensing/permissions for photos to give Patreon members something worthwhile.
Instead, you’ve chosen to act like a disgruntled salesman who bullies people for their criticisms towards your product. You’ve taken out your pettiness against this community’s “acceptable-to-post blindfold edition” by charging a dollar to try a demo that you’ve oddly labeled as a 1.0 version.

@gojicks Please just step away from the computer for a while and think long and hard about what you’re doing here. The people replying to this thread are raising very legitimate criticisms of your work and behaviour. You may feel like everyone’s attacking you and that you’ve worked really hard on your project, but you need to understand that we’re raising serious moral and legal concerns with your work. Lashing out at the community that you’re courting for funding, is not an appropriate or normal response.
You’ve already irreparably damaged your reputation within this community, and continuing to act in this way is not going to make things any better for you. Now is the time to accept that what you did was wrong, take responsibility by completely removing the offending material from all sources, and publicly apologise to everyone you’ve hurt or offended with your behaviour. Pretending like nothing’s wrong or that we’ll all just forget what you’ve done, isn’t going to cut it.
Regardless of how much effort you put into this project, or any future endeavours, you’ll likely never be able to rid yourself of this huge stain on your reputation. However, you can at least try and salvage what you have left by doing the right thing and showing you’d like to change for the better. Until then, don’t expect to get much support from the people here.

Normally it’s exceptionally hard for a reply to a thread to receive more likes than the top post. Here, it’s happened 16 times (so far). That’s not a statistic to be proud of.
At this point, it’s clear that gojicks has no interest in taking any responsibility or accountability for their actions. Scorning any and all criticism, spiting the admins’ (rightful) restrictions on the original version of the game, even slapping away the multiple olive branches offered by the more forgiving members of the community. This person simply will not change.
And now the original version of the game is back on itch, stolen images of non-consenting women and all, publicly visible on gojicks’ account. On top of that, the “blindfolded” edition is privated on gojicks’ account, only accessible via the link in this thread, and paywalled. A more blatant demonstration of spite and disdain I simply cannot imagine.
I don’t care if the link in this thread doesn’t lead to the specific version of the game that contains the stolen images, the fact remains that it is still the same person who has created that game. I would even consider that to be ban evasion. This thread should be deleted, and permanently this time.
Also, if there’s anyone that doesn’t like non-consenting women being unknowingly added to a porn game (which, funnily enough, seems to be damn near everyone), itch has a report reason on their site for the uploader distributing unauthorized material. Handy, that.

Seems to be a comment towards my response, which I can see might read that way, but wasn’t really what I was going for. More, as the mods had already dealt with the non-consensual images, and I thought that was going to have a direction change that I needn’t pile on, so acknowledged it briefly and offered some positivity, now unsure with this blindfold edition stuff, but given all the comments were about that, I thought the writing itself was decent and was enjoying the fiat of a dating app/phone angle to a game. So was hoping it was a move on angle, and I wanted to provide a bit of positivity and not see someone totally lambasted for what may have been an error in judgement to the point they might quit. The AI art thing wasn’t a one to one comparison, just me pointing out a good project basically got killed by negativity but it’s definitely a different thing. The tone of arguing since, has been less than ideal. But I was never saying, ‘the game is good anyway’ so it’s fine as is.
My apologies if you felt targeted specifically, I was pulling from a few comments for what I was talking about, but I didn’t want to directly insinuate you or anyone specifically felt one way or another.
I appreciate your effort to make a positive/move forward moment, but I think much of the comments are still so upset because many feel an “unforgivable” act has been done, and the dev shows zero remorse for something so many of us find genuinely disturbing.
