blocks @Krodmandoon

Joking aside, I agree with @Demimonde4_Archives. I’d be willing to bet that nobody has been more helpful in this (and a lot of others too) thread than @Krodmandoon

@Randomkid00 nice guess, but nobody’s buying a pool.

I’m not pestering you to let me test it every day mostly because I know my ocd is going to result in me fixing all the bugs in my own copy of the game anyways, heh. I’ve actually learned a lot about python and coding just so that I can fix a bug in this game (then eventually other games) and not wait a day for the official fix.

Although once I learned how to peak in this game? I’ve been peaking at lots of other games too which can be fun.

Although the #1 thing that’s helped me is adding ren’py script files to the windows search index’er as files to be windows searched via plaintext (so I can find a code snippet like say a variable or event_title I know exists without having to know what file it’s inside, I reckon proper IDE’s handle this for the developer, but I don’t know how to do that yet, so I’m using windows search. after you tell windows it’s allowed to treat the files as plaintext and search their contains in a file explorer search.)

I wonder how does tigger, but also other devs on this site, keep such things straight? Is there a commonly used IDE for ren’py other than windowds search, your brain, and notepad?

how do i know i got the newesr version? is it still called 0.7?

First post of this thread is the newest version. If you have a version from anywhere but the first post of this thread it is an older version.

Ren’Py seems to favour GitHub’s Atom these days. It has syntax highlighting for Ren’Py/Python, some code completion (and GitHub integration, obviously), but it isn’t an IDE in the sense of tell-me-where-this-is-called-from/used or being able to summarise declarations, or quickly navigate.

I don’t trust Windows search: I’ve known it to miss things that are clearly present, that and being a massive resource hog that just cuts in randomly. As I’m old school, and have cygwin, I trust find and grep: it’s faster than supposedly pre-indexed Windows search (despite the way it forks) and always finds every match. It’s syntax is second nature to me, but isn’t for everyone though:

find . -name \*.rpy -exec grep "steveQte" {} \; -print

@graskalfje21 As ever, @Krodmandoon is 100% correct. If you got the game from the download link on this thread, you have the latest version. If you got it anywhere else, look at the info bottom right of the title screen. If it says test, you have an outdated version.

@namad I don’t use any form of IDE. I probably (okay, certainly!) should, but by the time I realised just how big this thing was getting, it was a bit too late to start :stuck_out_tongue:

@dingotush Yep, Windoze search definitely misses stuff!

@tiggertoo Alice didn’t realise things were gonna get this big either…

I think you could say that about most of the girls in the game

what happened to alice when it came to be continued?

0.7 is the latest version of the game. Every version of the game has had a to be continued screen that teases the next weight look and size of Alice as the game progresses (every event in game where Alice has gone up a size visually used to be an older to be continued screen that gets replaced with every new version). To find out what happens next after the to be continued screen for 0.7 you will have to play the full version of the game when that is released at a later date in the future.

Understand if you don’t want to divulge, but once Alice hits the top weight for this build can you progress any other of the story lines? I seemed to reach a point where all 3 of the side girls produce no further progress, but I assume they might just not be fully developed?

The other girls are tied to the main story once you have hit the to be continued screen you have seen all the main content for the girls in game.

It is possible to miss scenes or variation of different scenes as you progress through (Mostly applies to Alice with things like seeing the different pizza parlor scenes depending on how much she eats or the bowling scenes with who wins). But you have seen the main content and the game was designed with the expectation to not see all scene with a single play through.

Also anything after the to be continued screen is untested and bound to have bugs as it is not intended to have continued play (although it is possible to just keep playing even with no new content).

can you make alice immobile? (I know its weird )

The quick answer is it won’t happen. The rendering and 3D modeling software used for the game (Daz 3D) doesn’t work well with large models and the larger you go the worse it looks. It takes alot of editing and finessing to get models to look good at larger sizes (clipping, texture issues, etc).

(Also I’m a fan of immobile stuff so not that weird to me, however I know not everyone is.)

Alice doesn’t have to be immobile to use scooter, she can use it at 400-450 pounds to move around easier, for example at the mall.
And it would be really sexy to watch her on scooter, too lazy to just walk by herself.

What’re the chances of this thread getting a few different branches? Mainly a suggestion/dream folder and a Devlog?

I’m not sayin @tiggertoo doesn’t like/want the suggestions. I’m fairly confident he’s going to make Alice a vegan yoga instructor moving forward based on my ideas (joking). Just thinkin a separate thread for ideas would allow people to dream freely without adding to this thread.

And if that’s a bad idea, pretend it came from someone else…

@Krodmandoon Don’t you ever get fed up of being right all the time? :stuck_out_tongue:
Joking aside, thanks for answering those questions for me!

The ‘to be continued’ screen is the end of the current version of the game. You can carry on playing, but there’s no new content at all after that point and it hasn’t been tested at all so there will be bugs.

Immobility is very unlikely, at least from me. A faint possibility is once the game is finished, someone else writes a text only continuation of the game into the realms of immobility.

As for a scooter, if it’s ever on sale in the Daz store, I may buy it and experiment with what I can do. It’s currently (and has been every time I check it out) $20 which is too expensive for something that I’ll probably never use. Daz models are really hard to pose realistically at large sizes, especially when seated.

I’ve been asked a few times about doing a devlog, but as far as I can make out, most people prefer to find stuff out for themselves when playing rather than me say I’ve added such and such. Plus, that’d involve me actually keeping proper notes of what I’ve done :stuck_out_tongue:

I agree with that idea, especially since we’re nearly at 3K messages on this thread

To be fair, 40% of the posts are me spouting rubbish… and another 40% are @Krodmandoon answering questions for me!

And, in the interests of a slightly less rubbish post, oh look… it’s Alice!

Why is she in a swimsuit rather than one of her usual bikinis?

Is she trying to hide how big she’s getting, and if so, is black really a slimming colour?

Is this an image from a scene in the game?

Who knows :stuck_out_tongue:
