The Weighting Game - WIP

Regarding money, it might be a good idea to get rid of the rent. It doesn’t really serve a purpose beyond encouraging you to work more (people should be doing this anyway to be able to afford to pay for things) and makes it harder to save money. Sometimes it leads to Alice having to pay for things, if rent ends up taking the last of your money.

I’ve found no issue with the rent system, and it balances the speed of the game quite well! I never even ran out of money on my first play-through, it keeps you pacing yourself!

It serves its purpose then. It’s meant to make you work so you don’t miss out on Becca content. And it goes higher as Alice’s weight does. If you are ever doing stuff with no money that Alice pays. Well… you don’t have to be and shouldn’t. If you don’t have money you just have to go work and wait to do things until you have money.

Without seeing Becca’s scenes there are narrative sequence breaks that wouldn’t make sense to the player and are required to progress anyway so removing rent with how the game is currently structured would still mean you have to go to work but maybe not know that you need to. Rent at least helps push the player in that direction.

I definitely won’t be removing the rent. As @Krodmandoon (he’s right as usual!) points out, it’s a way of gently pushing the player towards having to go to work.

To clarify Alice having to pay for stuff, if it’s once in a blue moon, it won’t cause any problems as it’ll only drop the counter by a tiny amount, especially if she’s only having to pick up a tiny shortfall. And if she doesn’t have to pay for anything in a complete day cycle, the counter will rise again slightly.

Without going into too many detaills, if she says ‘don’t worry about it’, then don’t worry about it

In what version can i have Alice be my sugar-mama?

That’ll be the super duper, ultra deluxe digital deluxe version featuring a cassette tape of the entire game soundtrack and microtransactions galore. A bargain at only £15,000.

That sounds like a bargain, that’s what, only $8 American dollars, right?

Or, do I have that reversed?

No, no. You’re thinking of Rubles.

Is the To Be Continued screen the end of the game?

Yes. You have seen all main content if you have hit the to be continued screen.

Coo, didn’t realise that you can review your payment history in Patreon *checks* :kissing:

… Neat. Turns out I had supported Tiggertoo for 16 months.

@tiggertoo, just want to thank you for the amazing work so far. I have gotten hooked on the story, to the point were it almost broke me at a certain point (I have never related to a fictional character more in my life, so it hit hard).
I kept going though and was rewarded for the pain. Keep up the great work.

I just got to the to be continued page. Shattered I missed a scene apparently. I worked 4 times a day, but still didn’t get the Becca scene that Alice mentions. Oh well. 9 out of 10 becuase it’s still in production. Would throw money at someone to keep it going.

Did you reject Becca at any point? When you the boss asked you to stop by Becca’s house and check in on her what choice did you make?

I think it might have been because I told her joining her for drinks after her bad date was a bad idea…
I probably also paid waaaay too much time spending time with Alice anyway. Might have to restart when the next update comes along. (Fingers crossed Alice gets absolutely massive)

the only fork at all in the game is reject becca or don’t reject becca which controls aproximately one or two scenes but they’re mvp scenes.

becca can be rejected at 2or3 points in the story, and it sounds like you rejected becca’s advances.

Well of course, I’m a devoted partner and would never stray.
I also finally managed to get Hannah to stop making advances, but that choice actually told me it would end that storyline.

Yeah there’s your issue. I would personally give it a chance for both. I won’t spoil anything just don’t reject the advances and see how the story plays out and then make the choice for yourself on which is the right move. It adds to the story in my opinion.

Well at least the next time I play through I won’t have to do an all nighter and will also be prepared for the absolute gut punch that almost reduced me to tears. Really pumped for more (pun partially intended).

@Morganism glad you liked it  I do seem to have lucked on a story that most people seem to enjoy.

There were originally going to be a few more forks in the game, but it got so SO much bigger than I ever envisaged that I never got round to implementing them. Maybe one day…
