The Weighting Game - WIP

Nah, wait, Super variants are only a month or two out, price:performance should get a lot better. Then get a 4070 Ti Super if you want the best bang for your buck.

When it comes to getting a GPU for DAZ there is no better deal then getting a second hand 3090 or 3090ti.
You can get those for less then 600 euro.
The 24GB of VRAM in the 3090 and 3090ti is worth way more then anything that the 4000 series brings in that same price category.

I was actually contemplating upgrading my GPU until fairly recently. Unfortunately, I’ve had motherboard problems leading to a major hard drive failure, so that had to take priority!

Looks like I’ll be sticking with my 2080 for the forseeable future…

Ill swap you a 980ti for it

This thread has hit 1m views!

I’ve always wondered if that is the unofficial threshold at which the author will deign to release the next version.

Deign? Not like he’s got it done and hiding it. OR MAYBE… nah :joy: Pretty crazy amount of views though. Fair play. Tigger’s plan I believe was a full release basically whenever it is done, to avoid the leaks and hassle. First round of testing was a little while ago now, but involved a big overhaul so I’d (might be wrong), make peace with a pretty decent wait as it seemed like a big task. Without burning out, or the pressure of patreon updates, and balancing work, I imagine it’ll be quite some time before it’s all done and dusted.

Damn, 1 million views? That’s insane! With all the computer issues I’ve been having lately, I’ve been mainly looking at the site on my phone which doesn’t show the number of views, so had no idea it was that many.

And yeah, deign is a little harsh. If had the game ready, I’d release it, simple as that. To be honest, I’ve not done much on it the past few months. ‘Issues’ in late summer/autumn and winter is always a mega busy time for me at work. Once things quieten down in the new year, I’ll be able to get more done.

I hadn’t been keeping an eye on the number of views, but I have been noting the number of downloads. Just over 50K. Which is also insane. When I started work on this about 3 billion years ago, I figured maybe a couple of dozen people would play it!

Anyway, I was going to upload one of the patreon christmas sequences as a Christmas present, and to celebrate hitting 50K downloads, but now it’s a double celebration, I’ll maybe do something else…

Congratulations on 1 million views and 50k downloads! Insane numbers, all very deserved

Definitely insane! Nearly as nuts as I am.

Have decided what I’m going to do. Check out the first post

You did a fantastic job with the heavier weight models! They look fantastic even at such large sizes.

So, uh, these pants, are these the aeon soul dressing undressing clothing morphs? Or is this a custom dforce simulation you did on another pair of pants that didn’t come with a getting dressed or getting undressed morph in the asset pack?

TLDR: I love this effect! dazstudio is a great dollhouse for putting clothes on girls, but these sort of bbw-only scenes where clothes don’t fit are quite unique/hardtocomeby.

Hey so I was looking myself to download dazstudios/daz 3d . Is it a free download with in program purchases or a a subscription kinda download? Not sure how to describe what I’m saying but yeah .

Daz is free to use with free and lots of paid assets, programs, add on, etc.

@SexyFatGirlRenders It’s a good few months since I did those images, and to be honest, I can’t remember for sure how I created the effect. I think it involved de-parenting the jeans after setting up the pose and a lot of morphing, manipulation to get the clothes looking half-decent. And then the inevitable tidying up in Photoshop.

I do recall having to do quite a few takes of that scene to get it looking satisfactory. And swapping the outfit quite a few times. Some outfits morph a lot better than others :stuck_out_tongue:

@wilburntanner10 as @Krodmandoon says, Daz Studio is entirely free to use. They make their money by selling assets as the program only ships with a very basic collection of items to use (although more than enough to experiment and see if you like the program).

I’m not sure I’d really recommend Daz these days. It’s very easy to spend hundreds, if not thousands (many thousands in my case!) on assets and to be quite honest, it’s really poor at modelling fat girls. You can get some good results, but it takes a lot of effort, experimentation and hard work. And then you have to wait an eternity for the image to render… If I was starting out from scratch now, knowing what I do and what I want to achieve, I’d probably have gone down the AI route.

For what it is worth, I do think your renders are significantly higher quality than any I have seen on this site that are done with AI. Of course, whether that is worth the tradeoff in time is a completely different question.

Outside of like writing or characters one of my favorite things about the game is the almost comparison shots that each new weight stage brings for the same events, with a larger size but different clothing, etc. Even at times certain scenes leading into a “evolution” of the current event with different options or extending of the same scene which help showcase Alice’s changing behavior and the change within her and the MC’s relationship. This is helped along greatly by renders that can do some heavy lifting where the words or dialogue are meant to be more subtle at times.

With how poor AI is with consistency I think you lose the ability to pull off something like this in my opinion. No doubt would be the easier, cheaper, less time consuming route, but that also would be reflected in the quality of the final product. Taking an amazing or great game and turning it into a good or okay game. I don’t think this game would have had the impact it has with AI personally. Both to fans and all those it inspired to create something themselves.

I think vam is a decent alternative to dazstudio. The renders are faster. Also the culture is different. For some reason vam community websites are full of extremely high quality free products. There are still paid products but they’re not nessassarily better or more numerous than free ones. In daz almost nothing useful is free.

I’m sort of hopeful vam2 will come out in a year or two and just turn things on it’s heels by combining genesis8 tech with vam tech as well as revolutionizing things like real time soft body physics. The alpha tech demo videos for vam2 are impressive.

Damn, looks like the switch between genesis versions are giving wonderful results. You’ve been cooking eh tigger.
