The Weighting Game - WIP

@jcc309 Yeah, at the moment, renders are generally better than AI images, but given how far AI has progressed in the past couple of years, I have a feeling that one or two years - three at the most - from now, AI will be every bit as good, if not better than rendered images. No spending hours setting up and posing a scene. No buying expensive assets only to realise that they simply won’t work on an overweight character. No waiting 20 minutes or more for a complex physics simulation to run, only to have the clothing explode 3/4 of the way through. No running a four hour render only to realise afterwards that a hand is clipping through clothing. Etc, etc :stuck_out_tongue:

@Krodmandoon I decided very early on to use different clothing in almost every scene. And it’s been a two-edged sword. On the one hand, as you say, it helps keep otherwise similar looking scenes fresher, but on the other, it’s cost me a bloody fortune in clothing. I have close to 500 G3 outfits and well over 1,000 G8. Daz should make me a partner :stuck_out_tongue: Sounds like overkill, I know, but SO many of them don’t work on larger characters, or if they do then they need a LOT of tweaking.

@SexyFatGirlRenders I tried VAM when it came out and I have to say it was pretty damn good considering the G3 (or was it G2? Was a long time ago) limitations. When it’s got G8 stuff inbuilt, it’ll be even better. I’m keeping half an eye on it, even though my PC is used for pretty much nothing other than renders these days.

@Mark-627 I switched from Genesis 3 to 8 quite a while ago. All the early scenes - pretty much everything up to the first Janet visit - are G3. Almost everything after that is G8. No plans to move to G9 just yet though!

@Condenser you’re welcome! Must admit I enjoyed working on that story

And now, back to working on the Patreon Christmas stuff! I was hoping I’d have it ready a few days ago, but it’s got way bigger (in more ways than one) than I anticipated! Almost finished now though
Merry humbug!

It’s noticed and appreciated. Since having a model “outgrow” a set of clothes takes a lot of custom work to sell it the way we would expect it to look in real life. The clothing just normally increases in size as the character model does, I think having new sets of clothes helps both keep it fresh and give the idea of increasing of weight and size where there are limitations with predone assets. And since there are still outfits that are used for multiple stages you get a nice mix of both until it’s addressed the character has outgrown within the narrative. I think it’s really easy to overlook the importance of clothing in these types of games and since realistically depicting the idea of outgrowing clothing is not easy to do with something like Daz, this seems like a good alternative.

Yep, it’s nigh on impossible to have ‘outgrown’ clothes in Daz. I’ve spent countless hours experimenting and 98-99% of the results are utter garbage. It’s sort of doable with a few outfits, but most are simply designed to conform to the bodyshape of the model, whatever that shape may be :stuck_out_tongue:

If anyone hasn’t yet downloaded the Christmas freebie in the first post, it won’t be there much beyond Christmas, so grab it now  And for those who enjoyed it, I’ve finally got the Christmas stuff up on Patreon and it’s a similar sort of thing. A fully scripted story with a lot of images.

Okay, it definitely wasn’t the Aeon Soul morphs. I’ve only just come across them! Not sure how I’ve missed them in the past, but they look quite good, so I may well get them next time I’m on one of my Daz spending sprees.

I enjoy supporting you on Patreon, but I never really look at the posts because I’m afraid it’ll spoil weight stages I haven’t seen the characters in yet. I don’t really know if thats really the case so thats why I’m commenting this I guess haha! I’m following this forum eagerly! And I really enjoyed the surprise those weight stage events create!

To be honest, there’s very little on patreon in the way of spoilers and they’re clearly labelled as such. Most of the patreon stuff is non-canon; polishing the models and seeing just how big i can make them. The christmas story i posted on there recently is a good example of this

I really want more like this!

Haha if I ever finish the current game, perhaps I should do a medieval prequel :stuck_out_tongue:

I’d kill for it, hell make it its own game instead of a prequel, fantasy genre, choice is yours, I’d play it.

Maybe one day. But ive got to finish the first game first! :stuck_out_tongue:

Good! But a prequel eventually would be much appreciated! Just hope I live long enough…

I’m almost certainly older than you, so if I live long enough, you will too :stuck_out_tongue:

Nothing wrong with having a few fantasies now and then…

edit uploaded the wrong idiot because I’m an image :stuck_out_tongue:

Amazing! I love all the gravity effects! The breasts and belly both look like they’re hanging down due to gravity. It’s tough to get this effect. dazstudio doesn’t have any soft bodies physics. So, all you’re left with is trying to get shape morphs to match the viewers imagined gravity and heavy weight of those fat filled bodyparts.

It feels like you’re learning so many new skills and techniques since version 0.7

I hate it when I’m an image lol

@GrimRyu I wouldn’t worry about it. I’ve been a total image for as long as I can remember…

@SexyFatGirlRenders Yep, I was quite pleased with how that one came out. The only physics in it is the hair and that took a few attempts to get it to spread properly. And you’re right. I have learned a lot. I’m getting more and more tempted to re-render some of the original images, espcially the very old ones where I knew naff all.

So I lost the ability to call Alice after the event with Hannah WTF do I do?

Known problem. Your save is 90% borked (some people can get the phone back by passing a lot of time, most can’t/don’t). If you have a save from before then (check your autosaves), you should be fine.

I think it has something to do with Alice’s self-esteem, so doing less wg and more mushy stuff should help.

It’s a rare bug that I believe happens due to pushing Alice’s weight too fast at stage 0 and Hannah’s events not triggering correctly as a result (although I’m not certain.) It’s not super easy to replicate and a new save is normally recommended. Passing in game time can make the call Alice menu come back but it normally disappears again. I have a walkthrough linked in the first post that should allow you to avoid what causes the bug when followed.
