The Weighting Game - WIP

Each time you post I get more excited for the future of this! The “How are we doing?” option seems great, but maybe there’s a more natural way to ask it - like just “how’s it going?”

“How are we doing?” seems more correct to me if the point is to find out how the relationship of Alice and the MC is currently. There’s already a " Talk about stuff?" option. Where the MC asks Alice how she is doing. Especially since the dialogue in @tiggertoo’s choice options is never a one for one exact match. It’s more of the point of what the option is, to make it easy for the player to understand what their choice of options might lead to. The MC for sure says something different then “How are we doing?” straight to Alice when she would answer.

That’s fair, although I’d hope that ‘talk about stuff’ is reworked a bit in the final version, I want to enjoy talking to Alice more and I feel like that option is truly dry and pointless as-is. Combining it with “how are we doing” would be a way to make it have some meaning and purpose, if you wanna keep the kink stuff out of it.

I think ‘Talk about stuff’ will probably get removed. It was originally intended as a conversational filler between meets with Alice, when the early game was much MUCH smaller, I don’t think there is a need for it now - even if I added a lot of extra text - and as such, it is indeed, pretty pointless

Man I love seeing this small little peeks into the game. Having this thread makes me feel connected with the game. I was shocked when I found out that my most “recent” playthrough was in 2021, because it always feels like I’ve just recently experienced it as I always think about the characters and the game. And keep on reading this thread

Yeah, I really need to get it finished! I am still working away on it though as and when I have time/motivation.

Four day weekend in the UK. I was going to spend it playing Starfield, but having played for maybe an hour, I refunded it (It’s a really poor game. I love Skyrim and Fallout, but this just feels lazy and empty), so looks like I may be spending most of the next four days on my own game instead

A lazy Bethesda game. Surely you jest. Bethesda is the game studio that came out with Fallout 76, Fallout 4, Skyrim, and also hasn’t seriously changed it’s game engine since before I was born.

edit: Jim sterling summarized it best.

Starfield is really good! At first. It seems like there’s a galaxy with almost limitless potential right at your fingertips with a nigh innumerable amount of things to see and do.

The facade falls away so fast…

I’ve read a lot of critical reviews about Starfield but wanted to form my own opinion. Sadly, most of the reviews hit the nail on the head.

@WankA12 Haha, hadn’t seen that vid before. Didn’t watch the full ten hours(!) but it is a pretty good summing up. Thing with Skyrim and the Fallout series was they didn’t have to try too hard. The stories were pretty good, and people will forgive poor engines and a ‘few’ bugs if a game is fun to play. Starfield just didn’t feel fun.

@ThePineappleKnight I didn’t even find the first part of the game particularly entertaining. Just felt as though they’d done the bare minimum rather than create a fully-fleshed game. It’s insane, given how long it’s taken them to produce it, but my overriding impression was how rushed it felt. Definitely a facade, and not even a particularly good one.

I was right about spending a lot of time on my game this weekend  Quite a bit more writing, quite a bit of testing and more images rendering away and we’re not even halfway through the four day weekend yet!

I’ll do you one better—a GT 730! (I have it paired with a 5950X haha, hilarious combo)

The perils of leaving a render queue running unattended… (no, he’s not supposed to be under the blanket!)

Bloody Daz physics :stuck_out_tongue:

Awww he looks kinda cute under that blanket!

That’s not a blanket… it’s a cape. He is a superhero now

He’d need to be a superhero to lift Alice :stuck_out_tongue:

A few people have said that they don’t like having to go to ‘work’ in the game. Personally, I think it’s pretty quick unless one of the characters pops up, but I’ve been working on a way to avoid this for those who’d prefer to do so.

I’ve had a fair bit of outside help on it, but it’s pretty much working now  The finished game will have an ATM where you can spend a small amount of real money to get a large sum of in-game money. There will be absolutely no need to use this if you don’t want to, of course!

2.50 for a thousand? That’s a 800% value, why I’d be losing money not buying it.

Will there be an option to buy outfits for Alice with real money?

This truly is the investment of the century! Watch the weighing game currency become the next Bitcoin…

Are you supposed to use all the letters for anagrams?
