Tips for making sprite weight gain progression easier?

Hey everyone!

I’m planning to develop a weight gain game (probably a visual novel, but still unsure) and was wondering if there are any tips for making the character progression easier to create. For example, in a VN, you already have sprite variations for emotions and poses. But for a weight gain game, you’d need to create those same variations for multiple body sizes. Are there any tricks or tools that can help with this, like starting with a base sprite and adjusting it for different sizes more easily?

PS: Also planning on rigging the sprites somehow, so im accepting any tips for that matter as well

Update: Oh. my. god. Gonna need those tips so bad. I made some planning for the sprites, and my guys… 41k variations total, approximately. (Counting with body size, food smears, emotions, special variations for some of the characters that doubles their emotions or even full sprites… its a heck of a lot.)

In most VNs, the sprites dont exist as unique variations, instead they’re built out of multiple parts as needed. The body will have a blank face, and then the expressions exist seperately and are layered on top by the game engine as needed. You can also do the same for minor cosmetic differences like clothes or mess. For a WG game that also means you can re-use expressions among multiple sizes
