Unnamed object/person inflation game (Dead)

Accidentally posted as a draft, should be fixed now!

Unfortunately, I have to declare this project dead.
I didn’t have a way to back up my system drive, and it blew up on me, taking with it all the progress I had made on the new update(s) of the game.
I had another version ready to go and was on my way to finishing the one after that, intending to set up a patreon.
I’m sorry to everyone who held high hopes for this project.

Incredibly unfortunate when shit like this happens

Don’t lose your will bro, can always start something new with fresh ideas

Yeah. It’s not exactly a fresh idea, but I’m toying with the idea of remaking it with either one or the other character aspect so I only have to think about one style of gameplay. (or possibly make a hands-off game like was the gain jam was)

Having had this happen to me in the past with a story I was writing, I know how demoralising this sort of thing can be.

It’s a hard way to learn a lesson - always ALWAYS back up anything you have on your computer that you even remotely care about. Sooner or later you’ll be glad you did.

When I was working on my game I had the current files that I was working with on my main hard disk, backups of every previous version on a second internal hard disk and an external drive that creates backups of any files that changed almost constantly (a bit like Time Machine on a Mac).

Current idea is to have the main drive, use Acronis to clone that drive every Saturday, and have a copy on a USB drive, intermittently on my laptop too.

Just updated the post, both with info on the cancellation, and, for those of you that might not have tried it due to paywall, instructions on not paying for it, because itch is VERY good at making people think they can’t get something for free because of how big the donate stuff is.
