Sadly, it seems like most of the sprites are just lifted from either a sprite-maker program(think dress up dolls, but for sprites), or from different sample/default packs from the company behind RPG Maker.
The custom work seems to be just slapping a fat body in a mumu(although it looks more like negligee, I’m unsure if it’s suppose to be that or not) under the heads of the pre-existing models.
It’d be nice if they put effort into keeping the outfits of the characters in the fattened sprites, but given the sheer number of random people you can grab for your party, that would be asking for way too much.
Those games have 4 body types: Fairy, Man, Woman, and Child. There are lots of these children and other <18 characters in the games.
I mostly lurk here but I know that depictions of minors is a controversial topic.

IIRC, yeah, there’s at least one or more games where there’s a child character - pretty sure there’s a child as one of the main characters in one of those games.
