So like my idea is that there are enemies that can vore you, but each time you respawn the monster that ate you is fatter from the weight gain of digesting you, either resulting in the monster being too fat to hurt you after getting eaten too many times or the monster becoming a big fat friend that can accompany you. Got other ideas?

Between the point where the monster is made docile/friendly and it’s initial state, the monster will be sluggish and slow from eating you so often. At that point, the only way you’d get eaten is deliberately letting the monster get its attack on you. Or letting it do its grab move. Or however you’d want it to catch and eat you. The point is, you’re going to be seeing that monster often, and it will get slower and more tired the more you feed it… the only question is who’ll get more tired first. You from boredom (heavens forbid, this is a game) of doing it over and over, or the monster from having too much of a good thing (which is you, cause you’re the hero, and heroes are good)

what about tricking the monsters into eating others while they chase you? or sacrifice defeated monsters to the one your after also?

That’s actually a cool way of making a pity system in the game for people that are struggling to beat it.
fully on board with this. vore without weight gain is like an angel without wings. also pretty funny and interesting to imagine feeding yourself to something/someone so much they decide to be your friend, and the mindset of the creature or culture of the in-game world that that course of events implies.
Idea in a separate vein, for a more puzzle-y sort of game: imagining having a limited amount of lives to spend in order to do certain tasks before the world resets, and in order to make a bridge & cross a gap, you gotta feed yourself to someone until theyre fat enough to fill in the pit (with various hazards on the path to the Place You Feed Them that can waste lives in the meantime, of course)
Imagine if said enemy decides to hang out with you cause you taste good…
…“okay?” [You made(?) a friend! ****** joins the party!]
I can also imagine it from another angle, the monster now doesnt want to eat you, too stuffed and fat to want to anymore, and you have the option to stuff yourself down their throat.

And when you come back after doing said option the monster freaks out but is too fat to move and can only wobble like a pile of jello

Maybe if you get vored, all the food the monster eats goes into your belly and you respawn fatter.

A fascinating concept… So you’re essentially eating the food the monster eats before you get digested… not a bad idea, but maybe a bit too convoluted for others… if you’re going to get fat, it’d be easier just to eat food before you get eaten. And if you want the monster to be fat, just feed it yourself! Or with the food you have.
