WG/Inflation in Video Games

A bit surprised this didn’t make though I understand why, there is a game that features a slight part of the game with dealing with weight gain called Breath of Fire 2.
In the late half of the game you visit a place of flute speakers (yes I am not joking) where you learn their queen is very obese. After looking around you find the fat queen in bed with no end to her weight gain (though it never shows anything beyond the stage you are looking at). After getting a flute and learning more info about the situation you go to find an exiled diet doctor and bring him back so you can go into the queen and kill the fatty demons that have infected her (this is to turn her into a demon, probably something along the lines of gluttony considering the other demons also seemed related to a sin). However after cleansing her you did too much where she is now too skinny to even move, so much so that even the diet doctor can’t give enough fat to move again. After this you move on later in the story as the queen grants you a pillow to help a tree cure his nightmares.
If you are interested, I advised looking up the SNES version as that has better graphics and music (the Gameboy version to me butchered these two key things). Though it may hard for you to reach the point (the Gameboy version as made to be easier compared the SNES version).

wasn’t this game recently added to the switch snes library?

I don’t know, I don’t a Switch so I can’t confirm that. If it is I hope it is the original and not the other version.

Does a new reply 3 weeks later count as necroposting? Either way, this topic is interesting and I wanted to bring up a favorite of mine that hasn’t been mentioned yet: Dragon’s Dogma. It’s got a good character creator all around, but the ability to make fat characters is surprisingly nice. There are no mechanics revolving around weight gain, but your character’s physical build actually affects gameplay, as heavier characters can carry more weight, have larger but slower-regenerating stamina pools, move slower in general, and (I think?) weigh down large monsters more when you cling to them. Also interesting is that it’s one of the only games I can think of at all where you can actually make strongfat characters, because the fat and muscle sliders aren’t mutually exclusive.

My main character a cute shorty but I made my pawn tall and THICC.

Another MMO! I just remembered from WAY back in my past. Redstone. each character has 2 different skill trees they can swap between at will, and this female mage like girl had a skill on one of her trees where she turned herself into a large ball(like the expansion jutsu/human boulder technique of the akimichi clan from Naruto(though she resembled fat princess in appearance)), and… either rolled or bounced around to damage enemies. Would prob qualify as inflation, like that one little game we have on here where you play as an inflation witch?

Super Mario Maker 2 reintroduced the Power Balloon, and somehow upgraded its status to an actual power-up as of the 3.0.0 Update.

can anyone go a bit into more detail? these games seem cool and i know what some of them are talking about from a quick google search but others are vague

from the actual post not replies

Give me the rom I wanna try it

It looks like it might just be a cheat code judging by this link Chubby Mckee - Kabuki Rocks Easter Eggs for Super Nintendo but it’s also likely there’s a sequence where this occurs but I can’t pinpoint when. Though I did only skim a playthrough on youtube of it so it is possible I missed it.

I tried said code on BSNES with a Switch Pro Controller and my laptop’s keyboard, but no luck in getting it to work. All it did was not make a chime nor plump up Mckee…

More to the point, I know I posted a separate topic about it, but there is Super Mario Bros. Wonder and how it (technically) brought back the P-Balloon.

It would be nice we had context for the original entries rather than just the title, such as what kind of inflation, who gets inflated and where in the game this happens. I’m not gonna play through a 2+ hour game just to get 5 seconds of 1 dude puffing up with air or something.
