WG/inflation Simulator? VN?: set up

body_demo

Recently discovered some interesting compatibilities between shape keys, skeletons, and spring bones in Godot 4.4. More specifically, how easy and fast it was to set up hyper-specific customizations with minimal effort, which I’m hoping will pave the way for what may become something playable-ish.

I 100% do not consider myself as someone skilled with programming or 3D art, which is why I became so excited over the ideas proposed in this article-

-which I believe lays out a highly specific stylistic choice for flat-shaded, low-effort, low-poly base bodies able to switched out with more specific ones sculpted for their implementations (i.e. gender, fat, inflated, expanded, blueberry, etc…)

Clothing becomes customizable by simply switching out which meshes would be attached to the skeleton, but it becomes even more interesting when realizing that they can be applied to shape keys in the same fashion as the base mesh is- allowing for dynamic ripping, button popping, etc… without having to actually simulate it.

I’m sorry for the rant, I just never expected these tools to be so accessible. I’m not really sure what I’m planning on doing with this yet, but I’m more than open to ideas/feedback/help as I am but a plebian in the ways of game design…and if the opportunity arises would love to be able to collaborate.

cheers
