The year is 2592, and mankind has extended its reach far into the cosmos. At the forefront of this great leap into the stars are a number of growing megacorporations, each hoping to find their own big break to spearhead a new era of innovation.

World Genesis Investment Group is one such corporation, with the goal of expanding man’s horizons through the power of various scientific discoveries, such as anomalous biomaterials, artifacts, etc. which have a variety of effects that can alter the bodies and minds of sentient beings and the world around them.

Their most recent discovery, gainium, is a bizarre crystalline structure that exhibits several strange phenomena, the most valuable of which being its ability to convert electric energy to caloric energy and vice versa. Recently however, workers under exposure to the strange material have experienced a variety of odd symptoms, including appetite stimulation and weight gain.

Now, in the rush to harvest and study this valuable material. World Genesis needs all the workers it can get! How will you make your mark on our company’s history?

WG13 is a server for the cult-classic sci-fi job simulator Space Station 13, with its own unique mechanics revolving around weight gain and expansion. Whether you’re an experienced fry cook keen on feeding the hungry masses, or an engineer with intimate knowledge of double-wide airlocks, we’re sure there’s a job for you on our humble space station.

Enjoy a laid-back and quality RP environment with long shifts and plenty of interesting characters. Get immersed in the corporate dystopia of WG13, and perhaps pack on a few pounds while doing so!

Events

Waddle away while you’re still able! There’s evil afoot!

Not every shift is quiet on our station, and lots can go wrong at the hands of antagonists, who may arrive announced or without prior warning. Use the skills you’ve learned to keep the station in one piece!

Staff and community members are welcome to host events for all to enjoy! From impromptu community member creations during a shift to coordination with admins by normal players, WG13 welcomes creativity and community input toward fostering memories and fun ideas!

Open Source

Making your station a better place!

WG13, like most Space Station 13 servers, is open source, meaning anyone can contribute to the project and show their support.

Anyone with expertise, passion, or an idea is welcome to throw them out there. We try our best to incorporate ideas that fit within the universe and help rework anything that may not fit in at first. With future additions such as;

• New enemy types based around gainium and weight gain mechanics

• New crafting recipes, technology research nodes, and food

• New biomes to explore

• More modular clothing that adapts to a player’s size

How to Join

In space, no one can hear you fill out a job application!

WG13 is an 18+ whitelisted server, meaning players may submit applications using the provided link in the final section of this post under “Relevant Links”. Please be aware that all accepted applicants will be required to present a form of legal ID (DOB visible, the rest obscured/omitted) before joining the server. Server staff reserve the right to verify a user’s ID at any point should they be suspected of circumventing age verification.

Verification will take place over our community discord once an application has been approved. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received by server staff.

New Hire Training Events will be announced in the discord server periodically to help introduce new players to SS13 as a whole and WG station’s unique features!

Is it possible the unverified chat is currently locked for unverified members? I’d imagine the purpose of said channel is to communicate with unverified people, but we can’t see the messages in the channel either.

Honestly, I would love to try this server out, but the last time I saw an advertisement for this server, you needed to give over your ID to get it, and that personally puts me off. I don’t trust Discord themselves to have my identification (and seeing as how a few months ago they had a massive breach, that was a good idea), let alone a Discord server. There’s nothing stopping an admin or whoever is behind the verification from saving IDs and then claiming that they were deleted. Plus, no matter how well someone redacts or censors the image, AI can just undo it. No hate towards the dev team, but it’s a big hurdle for people who are paranoid about their privacy like myself. I hope the server continues to grow though!

AI isn’t magic. If you cover your entire ID in a black rectangle, save for your DOB, AI can’t just magically pull out your data out of full black pixels.

This would be the first time this server has been posted.

1. There’s literally no reason for us to save a blacked out ID with a DOB visible, nor do we have any desire to, nor is there anything we would even be able to do with said image. Any proof of age provided will be deleted once it’s confirmed, and we encourage anyone submitting verification to do so as well.
2. AI can’t “just undo it”. Whatever AI uncensors is entirely made up/hallucinated by the AI.

This is my ID. If you can use AI to “undo it” I’ll paypal you a $100.

Additionally, this is all we’re asking for in terms of age verification. We’re not a government agency or a big corporation looking to harvest your personal data and build a file on you, we’re a handful of degenerates who are just trying to make sure we’re doing our due diligence and keeping people honest. If we can see a birthday that’d make you 18 or older, that’s all we need. If showing this, privately, to one moderator approving your application is too big of a hurdle for you, then there’s little more I can do to convince you.

Employee Training Day!

We’ll be doing an employee training day tomorrow (Feb. 7th) at 7:00PM CST. The systems for SS13 can be a little confusing to newcomers. You’ll often see new people asking questions like:

• In engineering, what is the supermatter, and why am I hallucinating?
• In medical, why is my patient suffering liver failure after I made him chug a bucket of libital?
• In science, why can’t I build my big cool ass mecha?
• In cargo, why shouldn’t I just blow our entire budget on pizza crates?
• In mining, who is Bubblegum and where is his skin?
• In service, how cook food more fast and lots and big for big fat crew mmm fat???/?
• In security, why does my baton make people bleed when I hit them, and why don’t people respect my authoritah?

As a new player, every job can feel as though it’s overwhelming at first. Thankfully, our lower population comes with the benefit of a pressure-free environment to learn in, and we have a number of knowledgeable players who are happy to share what they know!

For the record, these events will be a semi-regular thing as the server grows, so don’t worry too much if you miss one. And even if you can’t quite make it to them, we have a help channel in our discord for any game-related questions you might have!
