High hopes for this. Hopefully the array of assets won’t be too bad. (weight, capacity combinations). Looks good, keep it up!
I forgot about this gem, I’m so happy to see it’s still being developed! I’m looking forward for more progress~
Heck yeah, always love seeing an update for this.
Finally update of this
Hey everyone, passing by just to quickly say, thanks for the encouraging comments. This sure was a year of all time. So hearing that folks are still looking forward to the project, really gives me motivation to keep up working on it late at night.
Anyways, not much to report, as the next big chunk of time I’m using is pretty much adding the leftover dialogue for the demo inside the game, along with all the music/sounds/sprite changes/images, etc. Here’s another screenshot, this time with more of my tools open on screen, as I’m debugging the game, just for those interested on the behind the scenes.
And here’s Two confirmed deadlines for updates to the build of the game that will be available to the public:
Update 1: Right before the year ends, (december 30 probably), I plan to release an update to the build of the game. This update will have all the new assets implemented, a new official cover art, and an update to the itch io page to make it a bit more accurate to the new assets, aka, new coat of paint for everyone.
It will also include some of the dialogue for the other paths of the demos, but most likely incomplete.
Update 2: The demo day is planned to be fully implemented by January 31th. With this, the pillars for the entire game should be ready so I can start concentrating on pumping out the content for the game (story and scenarios!) through the year.
A lot of scenarios are already planned, and a lot of assets are already in development for all of it. For example, 8 full background for where the story will take place are already finished.
But I digress, just wanted to update you all again, and thank you one more time for your patience, and also, your continued interest <3
If you have any questions, feel free to post and I’ll get back to you ASAP.
Only questions I won’t answer to, are questions about deadlines about future updates not mentioned on this post. But anything else is game (including possible content).
So glad to hear things are going well, really looking forward to the development of the great game.
Hello everyone! Happy new year! Its been a long year, hasn’t it?
As promised, right before the year ended, I have uploaded to itch a new update to the demo with all the new assets to the game.
Update 0.2 (this one).
The entire game got a new coat of paint! most if not all the art assets have been replaced with custom ones made specifically for the game. A huge thank you to the-furry-railfan for the sprite work, and DumbRadish for being the official background artist of the game. I am very happy with how things are looking, and I look forward to share with you all the assets they have made for the game in future updates!
And of course, some of you might have noticed already, we got an official cover for the game now. Thank you very much for Graphene for it. I hope it gives you all enough of a glimpse of what to expect in the game!
For those hoping for new story content that advances the plot (and the sizes): apologies, not yet, I ask you to give me a bit more time for that.
For update 0.21, coming at the end of January of 2026th, I plan to have the demo fully finished. and then focus on the normal path/start of the story. Most of the framework for the game has been coded now, so crossing my fingers that 2026 will come with quite a few fun updates to enjoy different scenarios!.
For those checking out this project for the first time: Welcome, for those that have been here from the beginning and are still interested: I hope to be able to prove myself this upcoming year. Thank you so much for your patience.
Feel free to give the “old” demo with the new assets a go. And remember to check the status menu if you want to appreciate the small body changes Winter Light goes through in the paths! ![]()
