So, will it be Kobold only, or do you have plans for other character types?
Some idea stuff would be something like an analog scale where you have to be in a certain range to get some reward or shortcut.
Maybe an indentation in a wall that you have to be in a certain weight range to fill the void correctly
Maybe a chest that is full of soup, too thick to dig through, but perfect for feasting on, gotta have enough available hunger to get to the bottom and get the reward.
Magic mirror that is a specific weight model of the player. Gotta match the weight and then it rewards you one way or another, maybe both the player and the reflection lose weight or the mirror bestows some blessing to the character
Would be funny if there was an enemy that was fat or something and if you were a similar size to them, they would register you as one of their own and not attack unless provoked
Sorry if this isn’t helpful, I can stop. I just like brainstorming stuffs
Looks cool, I’ve always loved the old FPS dungeon crawlers like Phantasy Star and Shining in the Darkness. I remember the seamless dungeons in those games started to affect me mentally after a while. So, I’d suggest to add outdoor areas/rooms and a little variation to the dungeon wall design.
Like, have the opening area be outside the dungeon or, say, a have a merchant’s room be decorated like a living space rather than a shop. Similarly, vines, cracks, and seeping water helps add a little variety to the walls and ceiling.
More character races is an option, but I can already feel the time it’ll take to properly make all kobold portraits (A face and belly sprite for each hunger and weight stage). I personally wouldn’t have the energy to draw the portraits of all the other races.
I suggest adding a mirror)
will we have choose male/female as well? Just curious.
I’d like to offer that option, however energy and time is what stops me from drawing sprite variants for each stage, race and male or female. So for now i’ll stick to a single kobold (I haven’t decided if male or female yet)
Understandable. Keep good work.
Question, will the main character have a choice of select-able classes at the start of the game, with different starting stats/and or gear for different play styles? Or will they be a “blank slate” type of character with the same starting stats and gear at the start?
No class selection, you build your character with equipment like in Terraria. If anything there could be a race selection but not in my list of priorities.
Will there be features that allow modding player sprite or smth like that?
Since I don’t have much experience with coding in general, I don’t really know how to implement mod support for the game, but is something I would really like to do.
A sneak-peak into the character movement in this game:
oh loving this a lot…
