Thank you! I will try to improve the map more and bring new artwork to the game in the next update!
JUDGES’ VERDICTS:
A pretty cozy and casual game compared to other potionmaking entries in this contest. Much simpler in its gameplay design, verging on the point of being busy work, I still enjoyed when the understated twist kicked off the fun events with a pleasing ending.
.
A note to the developer: do please heed the site and competition rules and guidelines when it comes to content involving and including minors. I couldn’t in good faith let this entry proceed further in the contest as a result. This could have been avoided by referring to the MC as an “apprentice”, “witch-in-training” etc rather than overtly referring to her as a kid.
An interesting premise, I do enjoy the mixing of ingrediants to make specific potions, I do however feel that the actual gameplay of it doesn’t quite find itself hitting the satisfaction level you’d hope from that kind of premise. Repetitive clicking on boxes just to get enough ingrediants to make a handful of potions, rinse, repeat until you unlock a few more. Would have perhaps been made easier with the option to choose how many of a certain ingrediant to take at once as well as choosing how many potions to make at once. Instead the gameplay loop is made quite tedious. It would have been nice to have a stronger use of the theme but the art at the end was very nice.
