I’ve been using this website without an account for a few months now, but quite actively. I’ve played many games (mostly on the furry category), despite the little time I’ve been here. I’ve learned a lot, but mostly one thing:
Some people forget that they are partaking in making art.
Yes, this is a website for porn games and all that, but… Games are also considered art, you know? Art is made from passion. And even if you’re making it for a quick fap or for a friend, make it feel alive, but don’t forget to mix all the art with the hot stuff.
Some of you should also learn grammar. ANYWAYS. Here’s more stuff that I always evaluate:
The Excuse
The excuse is what I call the driving force behind what’s happening, for example: A character is going to get stuffed with food. Why? Well, for no actual reason. In this case, there is barely any excuse. This is usually not good if your intent is to make something that will be received well in the community.
Now, for an example with more excuse: Uh oh! You’re full of helium now! Why is that? Well, you’re partaking in a musical where you need to be like that! No other reason. This time, there’s excuse, but the excuse is not very… natural. Does that even happen to you in real life? No! And by natural, I don’t mean COMPLETELY natural. You can have some elements of fiction and still have a good excuse. coughing Surreal Network. louder coughing
Now, this is completely up to you. You can add an excuse if you want, or just play it sexy.
Appearance Of Characters From Anything For Kids
Again, you just want to bust a nut, but please… Don’t do it with any character that hasn’t had anything to do with this bullshit. I beg of you. I don’t want to see goddamn Skye from Paw Patrol getting her back blown out while fat as a whale. PLEASE.
Apart from all that, there’s some pretty good games here. I think that’s all I have to say for now. See you nevermore, Macklemore.
Have you played Some Bullshit - Stuffing Focused RPG Maker Game?
There are no furries but there is a shit ton of lore, story and reasons. Basically everything you mentioned. If i have to pick a game for the title “Art” this game is a masterpiece. I even shed a tear when Esse… (No spoilers) I even mentioned this game to a friend of mine who totally dont into this stuff and dont know nothing about our fetishes. I would pick this game to play it for the first time again rather than any AAA title.
You should play it if you havent already, but based on what you wrote you did not try it…
I understand the idea behind this, but the whole first and second section of your post feel very similar to a thread from not too long ago that demanded people make their game more than just “girl get fat.” Obviously you’ve been much more respectful and constructive about your advice here, but still.
Very recently, there was also a string of posts on the Avril’s Appetite page where a guy got really mad that the game was trying to be MORE than just “girl get fat,” and I honestly don’t really understand why people are making this argument on either side. The amount of ‘normal’ content vs. fetish content that you enjoy in a game is purely personal preference, and I don’t think it’s really that productive to say “this method is better, so people should do it if they want to make better games.”
Once again, you were very respectful in your suggestions, which I can appreciate. And though the points that you were making wasn’t perfectly in line with what I’m talking about, I still think that people should try to be more aware of the fact that this kind of thing is 100% subjective. I agree with the idea that games are art, but I think it’s important to understand how that’s just not true to some people, and that they’re perfectly free to think that way.
Yup, I got flashbacks to that too haha. And similar to what I said then (and to that other guy if I wouldn’t be beating a dead horse), the best I can sum it up is: not every game is going to be tailor made to your interests. Of course this clearly isn’t you demanding every game be that way, I’m just pointing out that some people, and more importantly some developers simply don’t want fully planned out stories or plot points for their games.
You want a 10 minute bust and go? There’s a game for that. You want a 1-2 hour story to invest in for the night? There’s a game for that. You want an extensive RPG with unique mechanics, an enjoyable character roster, a heart-warming (yet horny) storyline with dozens of hours of gameplay? There’s a game for that. Yes, making games is an art, but just like drawn art that can take many different forms, everyone has their own take on it.
Having a good reason behind a sequence is satisfying for a lot of people, but you’ve got to be mindful of the others who either don’t care either way, or simply aren’t interested in the backstory. So long as you can understand why other people might like one game, and you’ve found other games you enjoy (which it sounds like you have), then I don’t really see the issue here.
And now in defence of all the non-native English speakers here, I have to point out the irony:
Not incorrect per se, but present tense would make that a lot clearer
To this point: I love a good story and mechanics that are tightly wound to theme, so I sympathize with OP. My partner makes fun of “porn with a plot.” Different strokes.
Honestly, I completely agree with this, but then again, I’m also the sort of person who prefers mostly story with a bit of extra fetish content sprinkled on top. I almost exclusively play games on here for the story and tend to treat the fetish content as more of a bonus on top of that, but sometimes I do enjoy something short and quick. I’m also an artist and writer but I usually don’t publish anything to the public.
Typically, in my stuff, the fetish aspect is usually there most of the time but not really directly mentioned until it’s relevant (ex: Character A is really fat, but there is a serious conversation going on, so it isn’t referenced much …until she has trouble fitting through another door frame), with around 3/4 being proper story with mild fetish elements, and 1/4 being actual full on fetish content without much story relevance most of the time (ex: Random plant monster appears that defeats its victims by filling them until they explode …except Character B ends up draining the entire thing with ease). There’s also often a long overarching plot, which is typically entirely unrelated to the fetish side, and takes place across several smaller stories (ex: Two sisters were separated from their family when they were young and later go on a journey to find their parents, but discover that they are a part of something much greater). I also just generally tend to go crazy on the worldbuilding. Simple stereotypical fantasy or modern day scenarios can be fine, but what really stands out to me and tends to be the most fun are worlds with really deep and complex lore. I especially like stories where you slowly unravel the mystery of the world over the course of the story, only to realize that things are even more complex than you previously thought (ex: A world that’s already deep and interesting with its own unique gods, goddesses, magic systems, etc, but then you discover that once every X years, a huge calamity occurs, wiping out most of the world’s population and even most of the gods, resetting everything to zero, which also answers lots of unanswered questions from the very beginning of the story, while also leaving even more questions).
Well that ended up being a very long rant about my story preferences. Anyways, it would be nice seeing more of that type of stuff around, where the story is prioritized over the fetish aspect, with a proper deep and interesting story. I’ve only seen maybe one or two stories that tend to go that way. Of course, not everyone shares my preferences, and it takes a lot of time and effort to make something so complex, but I’m sure it would be really popular if done well.
Oh yeah, gameplay. Make it fun and interesting. Thanks.
(I actually have more to say on this but it’s too long already.)
