I played this game a few months ago, but only just made an account here. Easily my favorite stuffing game that I’ve played. I wake up every day hoping there will be an update.
I also really loved the game so far, also easily my favorite stuffing game that I’ve ever played. The characters are so interesting with such fun dialogue and the art is absolutely on point. Humor is also right up my alley. Autumn just has such a perfect design and I’m really hoping this game won’t get abandoned and that development will continue even though it’s been a year since the last update.
@Buckets I know developing a game like this is a lot of work and I hope you’re doing okay.
Me, I did. I have a few accounts where I post my artwork, if you are interested. They should be linked on my account.
Okay. Important post time. First, let me start by thanking everyone who has played the game, offered feedback, shared it, and engaged with it in any other way. I truly appreciate the opportunity I’ve been given to share a piece of art like this.
However, due to a fierce case of burnout and a heavier load of schoolwork, I had unofficially put this project on an indefinite hiatus. In the time since, I have grown dissatisfied with numerous aspects of Archerquest, which range from not liking certain writing decisions or paths for characters to implementing certain gameplay mechanics which have scaled very poorly in terms of workload, as I had come to see in development of Chapter 2.
It is because of this that I have to disclose that Archerquest, in its current iteration, will not be continuing development. I'm really sorry to those who grew attached to this specific world but I am very thankful that it was able to make a lot of people happy and that it gave me so much experience on what it's like to undertake a project on a scale such as this.
However, I don't plan on shelfing the project just yet. I like these characters, this world, and a lot of parts of this story that I've cooked up, and so want to continue working with them. Do not consider this any official announcement just yet, but I have been planning on rebooting Archerquest into a newer experience that can take what I've learned from working on this project and allow me to continue telling a story that I've grown particularly attached to. It will still be an RPG Maker Project such as this and starring the same main cast. Whenever I plan on releasing it, I would like it to end up in roughly the same spot as Chapter 2 ended, with all three main party members established and ready to continue on their adventure. I don't want to divulge too many details about it now, but I have put far more effort into organization of the world and planning than I did with Archerquest, and I will try to be much more open about its development than I have been with Archerquest's.
That's all I have to say for now, but thank you guys a lot for supporting me. If you want to keep up with my work and would like to see where I will be posting any announcements for my future projects, you can find me on

Again, thank you all so much. I am willing to answer any questions you may have at this point, provided they are within reason. I'll even answer questions about the world of Archerquest, as long as I don't plan on answering them in the future story.
TLDR: Not working on Archerquest anymore, but have plans on soft rebooting the story and game.
RIP, may Merc’s gender reassignment surgery goes well.
Take your time, man. Hopefully you figure out everything.
Oh Mercs not going to be a male anymore? Huh, wasn’t expecting that
If you’re open to questions, but don’t wanna talk too much about the future stuff, what about the stuff you aren’t gonna be including in the next iteration? What kinds of development hurdles, story roadblocks, etc. were giving you issues, that you’ll be discarding?
Okay, so one of the things that I want to change right off the bat is the battle system. The old one was somewhat cool, but not something I found benefitted the fetish stuff, was too much work to implement, and wasn’t really fun enough to keep around. If anything, I still want to keep one around, but make it far more simple and still keep it unintrusive.
The camp system was a pretty cool idea, but I think it ended up being a whole lot of work and if I were to add even more, then it would be WAY more work. I think it’s a really cool concept, so maybe I’ll return it if everything else ends up taking a lot of the load off.
The animated busts were really cool, but I have to admit they were a lot of work. I’m still keeping them into the next project, because honestly the most annoying part was getting them to animate. I think simply implementing them was fine enough and achieved SUCH a cool effect.
Also, I think that gathering both Merc and Ingrid was very cool, but it came at the cost of some trouble with pacing and getting them to reasonably believe that they were going to stick with the party, especially Ingrid, who felt like she joined out of nowhere. The introduction to both of these characters will end up being much different in the next project.
The main villain and path going forward for Archerquest was a little weird, too. I think Pops was great, but Victor was one of those ideas I threw on the page without much thought, and the more I thought about it, the less it made sense for him to be the main antagonist of a fetish game. So the antagonist will probably see a major switch up, as well as subsequently Pops’s role in the story.
A couple minor things:
- I’m planning out the world a whole lot more than I did with Archerquest. I did things on improv with Archerquest, and that was cool, but it also led to a lotta problems too. This time, I’m making sure I have a rough world map and general story outline to guide me.
- Skip Crystals were a huge mistake. They really threw a notch into how I’d end up writing any serious encounter and I felt like I just had to toss 'em at some point.
Just out of curiosity, what was your favorite/least favorite part of Archerquest? - like, stuff you’re really proud of or wish you could’ve executed differently?
Favorite part of Archerquest was probably the animated busts and maybe writing Merc. My least favorite part was the combat and the party’s reasoning for joining together. I also, personally, didn’t like Autumn’s goal to find Pops since I felt that contradicted with her desire to indulge in exploration and adventure, and would make any scene not focused on finding him feel like a bit of a waste.
Thats fine with me! Take your time getting it done as well. A nice game doc helps out a lot tbh when doing something like this. Still, glad for the update and taken care of yourself while doing other work! Will be following you on the socials posted to see your art work and more!
Hello, if you want any suggestions to help with story, I would like to help as best as I can
Oh yes, a game doc is one of the first changes I made going into this new production, and it has been incredibly helpful!
1 - Fem Merc is hot.
2 - Fem Merc beer belly is even hotter.
3 - Good luck with the rework!
4 - Make sure to follow his new Twitter (previous got hacked) → https://twitter.com/BucketFA
it’d be pretty funny and kind of even sensical if you changed her motive from “oh i gotta find and save pops, but i’ll eat a ton for some reason i guess” to “i want to find the best high calorie cooking chef in the world!”
nice, thanks and I KNOW I’M LATE I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT WEIGHTGAMING SORRY SORRY
