Okay, I’m stuck on the same part. Good to know there’s more.
I’m caught to the same part most people seemed to get stuck on, so I’ll give my review so far.
The animated character portraits are nice. Conversations feel more alive than they did in SB, which is a feat I didn’t see coming. Having more characters with original designs is also nice. The art is overall fantastic.
The gameplay is faster, which is nice. I greatly enjoyed the RPG aspect from SB, so while the gameplay here doesn’t feel as nice, it’s easier to get to the story, which I greatly appreciate.
I’m in the boat of wanting more vore as well, so you know who my favorite character of this game is. lol Would love to see some Mina or Luci vore too, though I know that’ll be a bit harder to implement with their established character traits.
To Chuck, maybe it’s a “Resource” Demon? We have hunger for gluttony, glory for pride, and comfort for sloth. A demon powered by having more resources would fit the greed motif well and fit the current narrative. Though, since the first game had three almost sins, I’d theorize this game might have two instead of one, even if one isn’t antagonistic.
Edit: Alright! I just reached the end of what’s currently released. The only real complaint I have is how irritating it is to navigate the cookbook. Outside of that, loved what’s available so far!
Classically speaking, Gluttony IS greed for resources, while Greed is for currency. What comes to mind for me as a title is “Demon of Desire”.
Also fun fact, Laus actually mentions two other demons in SB! When Hygge shows up, he laments that Ira (latin for anger, is referred to as male and as the demon of Wrath in the 2nd QNA) or Invidia (latin for envy) didn’t show up. Esse also mentions “Libido”, who is later mentioned again as “Lust” instead in the 2nd QNA. There is of course also Exhaustion and Terror/Fear (named Terrorem), two of the big four alongside Esse and Lust.
Now, another interesting thing about the second QNA….Esse brings up a male demon named Varice, from the word avarice, the word for extreme greed for material gain. Considering he’s given a name unlike Lust/Libido, and his description is…well
I think Varice is a genuinely good candidate for being Cause For Concern’s antagonist.
It’s said that there is no demon of Envy, but other demons make up parts of it, which is where Varice is brought up. To this extent, we can either point and laugh at Nerds for forgetting about Invidia, or just go with “Invidia isn’t envy exactly, but is instead just jealousy”.
There has also been the mention of Eureka and Deja Vu.
TLDR:
Wrath/Anger, male named Ira, mentioned by Laus.
Envy/Jealousy, named Invidia, mentioned by Laus, isn’t actually Envy.
Lust/Libido, Big four, mentioned under two different titles
Fear/Terror, Terrorem, big four, presumably second strongest overall.
Exhaustion, big four.
Greed/Desire, Varice, male demon who is mentioned in QNA 2 that is a very likely candidate for CFC’s antagonist.
Eureka and Deja Vu: Lesser demons mentioned by Esse in QNA 1 and 2 (Eureka is mentioned in both, Deja Vu is just in 2.)
I actually love this, but would correct that Gluttony in indulgence of the self, whereas Greed is the desire to have everything. Using money as an example, Gluttony would want to have as much money as they could get, uncaring about how much others have, while Greed wants everyone’s money. This lines up with the stripping of resources in foreign lands instead of just their own, or even instead of their own at all.
Greed is also, for whatever reason, generally given an electric motif by many works over the years (possibly due to Greed wanting “Power”), like Infamous, Bioshock, Livewire, etc. Mix that with industrialization themes in the “metal men” invading and you have a large foreshadowing for Greed being the main villain.
Tl;dr: We agree on Varice being the most likely potential main antagonist. Everything seems to point to that. IF this theory is correct though, I wonder how he was summoned.
Also, I think the libido demon is showing up and I base that on absolutely nothing.
something i thought it would be cool for a future update would be like every girls weapons look diferent? they all share the same sword sprite but mina is described to handle a hammer adn the shark girl (whos name i forgot :/) feels wird for her to wield a sword so i think it would be neat for every girls weapon that fits for them (Mina has the hammer and shark girl uses her claws)
this idea is just a astetic change
