We’ve reached over 600 comments—let’s go for more and surpass 1,000.
This was my thought process as well. A LOT of the optional vore was added throughout the game near the end of SB’s development. Hell, the only canon vore moments outside of ETV were all post game. If anything, we’re actually getting more than we previously did thanks to the one character.
I do agree that it feels like we’re getting way less, but that’s because we’re playing the game during the initial development instead of near the end like the one you’re responding to probably did for SB. We are objectively getting more. And it’s canon, which is even better.
I have heard this complaint before and I understand where it is coming from. I’ve tagged the game with Vore, but there isn’t as much compared to the other stuffing/ burping content. It does not appear to be the focus even though its tagged. I can see that being very frustrating, but you have to understand what vore is for non-vore enjoyers.
To step back, I did a survey back for SB when I was making it asking if people would like to see vore and if they were interested. There were four options:
- I like vore and want more
- I like vore and am indifferent
- I don’t like vore and am indifferent
- I don’t like vore and want less
Funnily, each option was about equal with votes, but in the comments the non-vore people repeated over and over how it was a massive deal breaker. Friends of mine in the stuffing community told me that couldn’t touch my tagged stuffing game because there was vore in it. To them, vore is Snuff. Its a death fetish. It instantly kills any enjoyment they have of a scene and makes them see the characters doing it as psychotic. I can see their points, I find it extremely hard to write a bubbly, hero character who kills (via tummy) hundreds of people. Even morally questionable characters are tough. Clinko and I have an idea of having Luci eat a town of mice people or something like that. But Luci eating 50 little people, while potentially a very hot scene, completely changes how she is viewed in the long running story. Right now she is a thief with a heart of gold, but if I put in that vore scene she’s a mass murderer. Its fine in a comic or a pinup where it resets with the next art piece, but we need to compare Luci’s character over many, many hours. In my writing, I struggle to make the bad guys who get eaten deserve it and even then, its not always consistent with goblins suffering the brunt of it and I’ve been called out for weak attempts in the past and I don’t blame people.
Long story short, if you have even a single vore scene in your game, I think its a courtesy to make sure it’s clear and stated up front. That way somebody does not have to worry about investing 5-10 hours into my game and suddenly be massively turned off by surprise. Additionally, having it be stated up front means I can actually include it in the story. It was really annoying having to carefully wall off scenes that would have been canon otherwise. And other people have correctly pointed out, you need to build up to vore! You can’t have a girl get full from a cake and then easily devour a person, that doesn’t work in a linear story.
So there will be more vore, from other characters and maybe with existing characters. Stay tuned to see! I am a vore enjoyer and definitely will be adding more in the future, like the next content drop.
Huh. The main dev responding to me, and with something that makes actual sense to boot? Color me surprised. Another dev got very upset with me, so you have my respect for that.
It makes a lot more sense when it’s coming from the context of a stuffing focused game for non-vore enjoyers. Now it makes sense that it’s a bit of a catch 22 trying to satisfy both. But with confirmation of more vore to come in the next update and the quality of the last update a lot of people could probably wait very patiently.
If I were to make a selfish suggestion, it would be this. The SB games got several spinoffs that more or less had more implied vore than in the main game. If that’s possible with this series, perhaps some spinoffs with much more explicit vore could be in order? Considering the amount of views the clips of SB vore scenes get on YouTube, totaling in the millions combined, there’s certainly a demand for it.
Thanks a lot for the clarification, bro. I apologize if we’ve been a bit impatient about getting more vore content; I hope it’s not a bother. A huge thank you for creating this game.
What you’re saying makes a lot of sense and is completely understandable; creating vore scenes that align with the story, narrative, and character development is undoubtedly a challenging task. I was thinking about your post, and a possible solution and suggestion for that problem occurred to me: having the main cast engage in vore accidentally or without realizing it. I think accidental vore could be useful, as it would avoid the issues of going against established character development.
That Luci idea sounds like it was inspired by a certain classic vore comic…
As for accidental vore, I feel like, while helpful for staying in line with the character’s morals, is still not very gratifying? Eloa for example has one piece of official vore content, and that’s both accidental and with a small prey, so the payoff of the 8 foot tall woman never really happens (woah the Chuck guy likes Eloa big shocker there)
My personal favorite Clara moments are her voring the Gemuse, and her being completely unaware in the festival vore scene added to second helping made it a bit less enjoyable (still a great scene of course)
Overall, my personal opinion is that CFC has a chance to be something fresh, without being bogged down by self imposed (albeit reasonable) restrictions from SB. Basically I’m letting my inner Esse speak for me and I’m saying “morals be damned, hot bitches eat bitches!” but, you know, pretend I found a more nuanced way to say it? It’s 2:A.M. over here!
It came from Lantrum was vore focused. It was a really good game and still hope one day it will continue.
Its a classic comic for a reason. Im sure I’ll be able to narratively justify it eventually. I always find a way to inject some tummy stuff in, so I’ve gotten used to contrived scenarios, hah.
That’s the other part of vore that’s funny, some people want the Dom/ power play aspect. Some people like “cute dangerous woman, but nice to me” thing, others just want a huge tummy and people are just a size up from regular food. Its impossible to do it all, especially if you dont like suffering like me. Unaware pred lets me do a lot but it does miss out on some aspects.
Building on what Shuck said, I also have a few suggestions regarding the inclusion of vore involving the main characters, so that those scenes feel consistent with their established personalities rather than contradicting their character development.
-
Have certain villains that can only be defeated through vore. For example, enemies that are effectively immortal, have extremely fast regeneration, or are immune to conventional physical and/or magical attacks.
-
Include scenarios where the characters are possessed, mind-controlled, or otherwise acting under the influence of an external force.
-
Include some vore scenes involving monstrous or semi-humanoid villains.
-
If the main characters are going to perform vore, have them become accustomed to it gradually over the course of the story
The chat/forum right now be like:
It’s awesome seeing so many people sharing their ideas and opinions!
People of culture, we have gathered!
I agree that accidental does take something away from the whole thing, but my favorite vore moments were Clara eating Duquesne in Second Helping (2nd favorite), and Emmie eating Mr. Black, Mr. Gray and Mr. Green in Cheat Day (top moment for me). Both of these weren’t done intentionally, but the dialogue suggested the characters very much enjoyed it, which is my personal favorite kind of vore. When they love it.
The only surprise to me was it seemed like Eloa was being set up to eat Emmie’s maid in Now You See Me, only for that to not happen or even be implied. Not a complaint, mind you. It just surprised me.
I said before that the ladies in CFC seem more willing than the ones in SB, but I’m looking forward to it either way!
does anyone have a save file for right when you have to go up the waterfall and Sami has to swallow Luci for it to work? I wanna see that
that first idea is amazing, because currently, having Sami eat one enemy, and be unable to use that move again until the next screen, when you could have just attacked that enemy as normal, feels unecessary. it would be awesome to have special enemy types like that, or bulkier enemies to justify finishing them off in one move rather than striking them over and over
I’m here primarily for vore stuff and I have to agree that even for me Luci eating a town full of people would drastically change how I view her in a way that doesn’t work with her established character for me; I don’t know that the story is set up for cruel pred protagonists (Sami kind of gets a pass as someone who doesn’t think about most things). I actually think accidental vore can be kind of sad too–I mean, I like cruel pred stuff so accidental scenes are no problem, but it changes the tone of a work a little bit away from lighthearted and fun for me. However, I don’t think that’s the only way to do it!
Some other vore ideas you could explore if you want in addition to the other ones people already mentioned:
- Animated objects etc that aren’t actually sentient or want to be eaten
- More nonlethal vore with reasons™ it’s Totally Necessary, like currently exists (both for friendly reasons and for detaining someone/interrogating them/whatever)
- Building on the “villain who does vore” idea, it would probably be in-character for most of the characters to eat someone or a faction of people like that in retaliation, kind of a taste of their own medicine thing. I mean, they’re killing bandits, etc. anyway.
Anyway, thanks for all your work on the game!
That first idea sounds similar to how Evoria does some enemies, although that game is a more traditional turn based combat type of game.
As long as we’re all voicing opinions. I like vore as long as the pred isn’t overly cruel. I guess similar to Nerds I don’t like suffering. Bonus points for comedy.
You’re right. Vore is much more satisfying when the character doing it is fully aware of what they’re doing. That said, accidental vore could still work as a sort of introduction or appetizer, providing players with some vore content early on before moving into the more intentional scenarios
In any case, I’ll be patiently and excitedly looking forward to the next update. I’m honestly really curious to see how the developers will introduce vore content throughout future updates. I’m especially excited to see what approach they’ll take and how they’ll gradually build and develop it over time.
I have to agree that the current implementation does feel a little strange. There’s nothing really wrong with it, it just feels kind of… sterile and mechanically detached not just from vore, but from any kind of belly stuff? Even if vore isn’t introduced as a required way to kill enemies and making it detached from fetish content is purposeful, it would be better to me if it had some kind of purpose–maybe it could be a slow short-range attack that heals you if it kills an enemy?
