Crusader Kings 3: Weight Gain and Consequences

Not even minutes after making my last post, I was somehow able to get a game working on the current version. Events, traits, and body mods seem to all be working…

Yeah I don’t know where it broke in my mod set up, but I got it working somehow as well, occasionally it crashes but eh.

The load order I use has never crashed on me, I just keep them at the bottom of the load order. The only mods that are below are CFP and some enhanced map mod. Mods I’d keep out are EPE and Cultures Expanded, or any other mod that changes character appearance/adds cultures because they’ll need compatches to avoid texture corruption and other weirdness.

I keep it towards the bottom as well, i just didn’t know what was causing the crash after mod updates

How you you increase the weight of people in your house?

Outside of just using the debug menu, there’s a lot of traits you can combine to increase weight.

In order of calc weight (how much each trait affects character weight): Gluttonous, Comfort Eater, Drunkard, Hashishiyah, Lazy, Greedy, Calm, Trusting, Gregarious, Patient, Arrogant and Ambitious are the vanilla traits you can use, as well as the Reveller Lifestyle traits (obtained from repeated feasts).
There’s also the appetite traits from the mod which are congenital, so try marrying characters to others with increased appetites to pass those traits on to their children.
The opposites of all of these traits also make characters lose weight so bear that in mind.

Hosting feasts will also increase the weight of characters that attend, and if you’re a feudal/clan kingdom/empire (and have the Royal Court DLC), try to keep the court expenditures as high as possible, especially the food. The tooltips in game show you how each expenditure affects weight gain.

Character’s weights update once per year on their birthday, so if you see events where you’re meant to gain X weight that won’t be added until your birthday.

There’s also other mods that can make certain traits more common within dynasties, such as House Traditions and Personality Dynasty Legacies if you want to really hone in on certain traits.

do you have the right variant of CBO? there are multiple versions for various other mods such as the community clothing pack that added in a ton of clothes

Does anyone know if there is a way I could increase the maximum weight?

What exact mod list and order works?

CBO (linked in the first post) is required, then put WGaC below it in the load order. Keep these at the bottom of your load order too. There was a 1.8 patch for CBO that I used to use, but it’s since been removed by the author and, after some testing of my own, proved to be unnecessary anyway.

CFP does work with WGaC, just make sure to place it below in the load order. UnifiedUI and all mods that depend on it also work, I keep those above CBO in the load order.

Mods that definitely won’t work are any that add custom cultures, such as EPE, RICE and CE. They’ll either crash when launching or result in a bunch of texture corruption/removal/general weirdness. For EPE in particular, some people have said that deleting the shaders inside the mod folder fixes this, but others say their game still crashes so it’s not a guarentee.

I need some help getting this to work. As far as I know I downloaded all the required stuff, but I following the instructions I can’t find the correct folder to put it in.
I’m playing it through Xbox game pass on pc if that helps.

That may be the problem but what’s your load order?

I seem to have got something working, had to create a mod folder and move stuff around.
I’m guessing it requires a slow start as I started massive and then dropped 100 lbs/kgs within the first couple of months, unless that’s a bug?
I also seem to get given the short height trait very early on? Odd issues occuring but at leats it is running.

If you can’t sustain your weight if it’s high then you drop down immediately. You do need a mod folder to run any and all mods my guess is the game pass version doesn’t allow for a mod folder by default (I use the steam version which has it set up automatically). Does it give you the option to adjust load order? This could solve future problems you may be having

Yeah I got it working for the most part, honestly I feel I need a month off work to work out how to play the game in general  It’s a bit too complex for me I think.
I worked out the best way to avoid the sudden drop is to start small and work your way up, however still can’t work out why the character suddenly gains the very short trait unless giant is picked…
Now I just need to stop blowing all my cash on food super early and try and play the game in a balanced way, or I guess choose a richer starting location…?

The height system is pretty broken, basically the mod assigns characters a height trait based on their height value (0-1000). Tall heights are only given above 850 iirc, while short heights get given ~600 and below. To make things worse, the mod doesn’t take into account that females are typically shorter so they have the same height system applied to them, meaning the vast majority have short height traits.

On the plus side, you can modify character’s heights by enabling the option through the WGaC settings in the Decisions tab. From there you can modify each character’s height by right clicking on their portrait and selecting Change Height Menu (or something along those lines).

Richer starting location would help, although a good way to learn the gist of playing is actually either early Ireland or the Iberia in pieces bookmark locations choosing the middle king (it teaches you the gist of assassination and war for claims as well as some fun incest (if you don’t care for it you aren’t playing the game right lol))

Is there a feeder or feedee trait? If so how do you get it/what is the console command for it?

Their isn’t any trait like that implemented

Alright, how do you gain weight consistently? The only way I have seen is through events and stuff. My character also loses weight randomly, is that a glitch or a feature?
