That was fantastic, I loved the 1st person perspective view of the player character and the card game was quite a fun concept
DontFearTheJester (Gain Jam Version):
Good point:
Dont fear the jester
-Easy to understand
-Physics of the cards very well done.
-adapted music
-Interesting art.
-2D/3D effect of the characters give a real identity to the games.
Point to review:
-The decor does not do justice to the rest of the games.
Final point of view: Simple but very effective. The rules are very accessible and the intervention of the jester is very well measured. The endings is surprising and sticks well to the theme of the Jam. Itâs very short but the fun is there.
Thank for your work!
so i ran into a problem where on android it cuts the screen so i canât see the whole thing and canât even start playing, i hope that gets fixed cuz i would love to try this out since i donât have pc to play on
This might be my favorite weight gain game ever and Iâve played a TON. The art is incredible, the sound effects are sooooo good, and the game is easy to play/understand! Begging for some more to be added on in the future, especially after the ending where the user becomes immobile!
Fantastic all-round. Definitely an unexpected ending (and the double entendre title is a nice touch), and the items and jokers play into the theme as well. The sound effects and player reactions to their gain are exquisite, the only thing I can think of to add is an image of the princess at the end (or both endings? ), but otherwise chefâs kiss.
This is a top 3 Gam Jam winner so far. Love the twist endings, gameplay, and the artwork!
how do you get the secret ending
You must finish the game with both the Jester and yourself at the maximum weight level, which can only be accomplished by playing a Joker when both characters are tied at their second to last weight level.
yo, congratz on winning gain jam!!
JUDGESâ VERDICTS:
Charming antagonist, great design, and an added risk in the wheel make this one a standout.
This entry really didnât put a foot wrong here at all. A great premise; great character design; a great card game that while simple was executed near-flawlessly (Note to devs: Lean on more preexisting card game and board game designs and mechanisms! Theyâre woefully untapped.); the duelling expansion was a delight with the shifting viewpoint; and the twist was cheekily staring us in the face all along.
.
A top contender for sure. Hands down.
