Cool game! Reminded me Buckshot Roulette in a good way. Though, Ace is broken and plays like the worst card in the game, which confused me at first. And AI plays kinda strange, though I think it is for the better. All in all, I would play the full version if you will make one, lol.

This one was fantastic.

The twist was nice too, and the art was great.
Though I got unlucky and needed 3 playthroughs to get the ‘good’ ending.

In some other world I’d wish for more ‘in-between’ stages, but that would probably just drag it out and the pacing is great already.

Love the premise, great surprise ending that changes the game up, awsome art-style too. Nice work.

this game was absolutely amazing, the art and sound design was top notch, and the teasing dialogue was so satisfying. i particularly enjoy the short pauses after each round to see the damage to our waistlines it hits the surprise theme well and is simple to play, with the only downside i can see is the joker card is a little poorly defined in what it doses it different situations.

i also feel like this game will have plenty of replay ability as the core gameplay loop is so good.

Amazing game, truly winner material.

Here are some things I’d like to see in a post-jam version, if there ever was one:

  • Gallery (The cards, the sprites… Everything looks amazing!)
  • The ability to skip the explanation once you’ve gotten one of the endings

Best of luck!

Simple, but well-crafted. Solid core game, lots of fun little touches. My favorite was probably the point when I realized losing a hand wasn’t just having you step back in surprise, but also stepping back because you were physically taking up more space. Really came across well in the game when you realize the table is much further away than it was, haha. So yeah, nice job!

As others have mentioned, this was simple but very well done! The sound effects and art really contributed to making this fun to play. The game dynamic was easy to understand and fun to play. And the twist at the end was fun and unexpected and contributed to replayability. I really enjoyed iit!

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!!

Going to take a short break for the weekend, but I’m hoping I’ll have some time over the next 2 weeks to release a little patch with some quality of life stuff like skipping the tutorial! (I’ll keep the original up as well for the judges!)

Just pushed an Android build to the itch page for anyone that’s interested! Haven’t had much of a chance to test it yet, so I’m marking it as ‘Experimental’ for now haha

Man, IT IS experimental x)
So, it doesn’t work on my phone (Google Pixel 7).

Same over here on pixel 7 but fingers crossed we can get this playable soon. I might have ulterior motives to see it fixed haha :eyes:

WWWWWWHAAAAAT???!! Why is the Ace the lowest value card?!
This is really good, but the joker cards are WAY too common and screw you over 9 times out of 10. I’m serious, I had 6 jokers in the same game and 5 times they went against me. Ironically the last one was a swap weight, but we were both at the same weight so it meant nothing anyway.

I think you just got unlucky. I was trying to lose on a playthrough and every joker went in my favor and I ended up winning.

Really enjoyed this!

Also love how the twist if you win is foreshadowed in the name

@Mr_Goufats_X had such a cool subtle idea with that title!

Not only was it fun, not only was the art style amazing, not only did it have a proper deck BUT IS ALSO HAD THE BEST TWIST I’VE SEEN

Congrats to the developers and artists that worked on this, this truely deserves to win a spot on the pedestals of weight gaming
