Flipping around stats was the biggest thing, but I also added a LOT of other tweaks and stuff, including, but not limited to:
- General nerfing of the character as a whole. She was generally too fast, got too much sanity from eating, etc.
- She gets insulation when fat, and reverse insulation when thin
- I gave her a “Glutton bonus” where higher weight stages would give her extra food. Her thin stage would actually get LESS food to make up for her higher speed.
- Her food drain while running was too much, and her food drain while standing was too high. I made both stats more moderate. She will still lose food about 1.20x faster than most characters in normal play, but this is counteracted by the glutton bonus depending on your weight stage.
- I made her voice lines less fetishy just because I didn’t really “feel” it and just wanted to have fun.
It all came together to create a character that rewarded to user for having the right weight for the right situation. We shared similar ideas for the most part, so I’d love to see your version of the character.
In general, reworked Wakako was slightly worse at everything than other characters but made up for it in malleability. By changing your weight, you chose which stats you were going to excel at, the biggest ones being speed, food intake, health, and damage output
Her thin stage didn’t get as much from food, and had low health and damage output. However, she also had a 25% higher speed, making her great for exploring and gathering resources. To maintain a thin weight, you couldn’t have food on hand or she would eat it compulsively. This was still the best stage overall, but it was hard to maintain.
Medium hunger was basically Winston with an eating disorder and a faster hunger drain while running, making it a slightly worse generalist.
Fat had a 25% higher damage output, higher health, and decent insulation, but was 15% slower. Because she could still wear body armor at this stage, while also being fast enough to dodge, this was the best build for combat. But that 15% movement speed decrease would make it hard to gather resources where every second counted.
Her obese form was better at hunkering down and waiting out the winter. While she hit the hardest and had the highest health by a large margin, she couldn’t wear body armor, making her pretty vulnerable to attacks. But she made up for this with sizable insulation and a very high Glutton Bonus. She was VERY slow, I think like 40% slower than normal.
