I’ve been wanting to add male adventurers for a while now, I’ve written a post on patreon about my plans for it:

also the ships might come
Go for it, it add even more variety to the game and be able to reach out to a larger audience. Though I wonder how the men will be added into the map since so far we have one extra female per area, will the same be done with the men?
probally both be treated the same
So, what exactly were you envisioning for this? As in, would there be one class that would have only a male character to its name, or some classes would have an alt skin that’s a male character? Because, short of just adding male NPCs when the time comes, these are your only options, and they bring their own pros and cons.
Adding alt skins would take up more more of your time, but they’d let everyone use the characters they want for a team comp without having to use characters they’re not attracted to. Male-only adventurers would be more time-efficient, but would alienate anyone who wants to use them for a comp but doesn’t want to use male characters (though, I must concede, probably not enough to drive them away from the game.)
Some regions will have 2 characters. I plan on adding 4 male characters so I’ll space them out some
They would be separate characters, like The Sorcerer or The Inquisitor would be male. I see the logic behind skins but I think it would be prohibitively difficult.
The final roster I’m shooting for is 20 female and 4 male so I think it would be easy to ignore characters you’re not interested in.
This sounds like a favorable ratio for the game’s original audience, since we were gonna get 20 waifus anyway, and I guess 4 men is enough to attract people who swing the other way (ig 4 chicks would be enough for me if the roles were flipped). My only concern is whether this’ll be particularly effective at bringing in new players (and patrons) with so few husbandos, but that’s something you know more about than me, since you’re the guy with the Patreon.
As a side note: if the game ever gets a standalone client, will there be any sort of modding potential? Not anything crazy, but like, if we wanted to make our own alt skins for the characters, we could go into the game’s files and replace the art assets?
Maybe, I’m not going to do anything robust but if I can figure out an easy way to make it possible I’ll think about it
So 24 Heroes 20 Females and 4 Males. List Time on we got so far and what to get next.

Sidenote: I have no idea what food type to give to the 4 male Classes.
I haven’t picked what the male classes will be yet, I’ve got a list of about a dozen classes that I think will work but I have to figure out what stat blocks I need.
I’d like the male classes to have unique stat blocks, but also be able to form a viable all-male team for people who are interested in that
Now That’s a Good Idea
it will definitely add into the mix and cater to more of the audience, it is definitely a good idea so i say go with it
Okay, based on my memory (and future editing when I am inevitably corrected in the case of forgetting one or a few), these are the following elements available in the current build of Eat the Dungeon as of the 24th of July, 2021:
Current Offensive Elements
Current Buff Elements
Current Food Elements
And these are the ones that I’m proposing (this list may change) (I do not expect anything on this list to be considered. Just one being considered would be a luxury.):
Proposed Offensive Elements:
(applies AoE damage when applied to an enemy directly ahead)
(chance to summon defeated enemy for additional damage, in the item menu)
(joke proposal, basically talk your enemy down so much they WALK into your character’s mouth)
(joke proposal, basically sit on an enemy and deal damage based on your tonnage)
(applies AoE damage to all enemies directly ahead, reduces fullness) (first column of three, nothing behind them) (Sorry. Part of my fetishes, and this is me unabashedly requesting it)Proposed Buff Elements:
(AoE, buffs all allies when applied to a character, debuffs enemies in a small area when applied to an enemy)
(debuffs Melee
and Ranged
enemies by stealing their weapons)
(debuffs Faith
enemies. Buff single allies by reducing fullness added when eating preferred food)
(debuffs Sneak
enemies)
(applies to single ally. Characters targeted reflect damage upon attacker. Countermacy user receives half tonnage, targeted allies receive other half. Targeted Magic
enemies debuffed.)Proposed Food Elemeents:
(% chance to gain “drunk” status, which reduces CD, but increases x.x tonnage multiplier. This is not applicable to the Monk, who is always drunk, and will maintain current CD and x.x multiplier)
(will eat any food, but eats 0.x multipler; essentially, reduces tonnage taken)
(chance to remove “drunk” status. This does not apply to Monk, who is always drunk, and will instead receive double tonnage and increased CD as penalty) (“Bread makes you fat?!!” - Scott Pilgrim)
(% chance to bloat character, which temporarily buffs offensive element) (if applied as well, amplifies Belch
to a degree)
((this may or may not fall under the meat category, but it’s worth a shot))
(caffeinates character, reduces CD)
druid and monk have good attributes, but the powers of the monk class are lesser powers in the heroines already in the game, I would go with monk
For the last level she is very thin, for the last level she could be fatter <3
Hey, I don’t think she wins, that’s great news, I honestly didn’t know which one to choose, they’re both great, I wanted both in the game, the cool thing now is to wait for this beer belly to grow until her dress is too cut and get up looking more like a top than a dress.
There’s a lot of cool ideas here, though for the moment I’m not looking to add any new mechanics
Fair, just got some brainstorming will recently, so I’m using it wherever possible. :3
If there aren’t already, I would love to see some anthro playable characters
Better men have tried, but most of us are here for human(oid) waifus and an overwhelming majority of entries are human. Your best shot is to join the Patreon, submit a design, and make a virgin sacrifice to the lords of Xibalba in an effort to win over the votership.
