Eat The Dungeon General Discussion

i don’t give a FUCK who dimi comes with or what he looks like, i WILL hurt somebody in the name of this smol lad

well if you put it that way, I will vote for the Dragon Tamer and Dimi just for you my friend.

Ah crap, that came off as whinging/boasting, didn’t it? If so, apologies.

But seriously, while the Spider actually looks pretty cool and has an Aztec theme, I’d be biased towards the Dragon Tamer regardless because Dimi. … Actually, might be able to get away with this.

I have been hesitant to posting this, but I think it’s about time I share my greatest achievement in this community. I got Psychic to 10m weight.

Some may decide to disregard this post and call me out for cheating, but first… remind me when Psychic came out. Just so you don’t have to look it up, here’s the anwser: APRIL 15TH, 2021. I had about a year and 8 months to reach this insane milestone.

HOW THIS HAPPENED
Ever since I started playing this (which was about a week after the Psychic update), I liked Psychic’s design, yet she seemed useless when playable. After that agonizing moment, I set out to reach a milestone NO SANE PERSON would think to obtain. 10 million weight. I didn’t have a strategy then, however, as I continued to play, a strategy emerged.

THE STRATEGY
Adventurers used: Priestess, Spellblade, Engineer and (obviously) Psychic.
Stages used: The Gate (pre-penumbra), Penumbra.
Major stats: Priestess: Speed, Spellblade: Power/Speed, Engineer: Power/Speed, Psychic: Power.
Reasoning: Priestess can give their attack to Engineer, essentially making an infinite attack loop, combined with the attack and defense buff. Spellblade is to clean up everything that Psychic can’t hit.
Strategy: The first part is simple. Kill runes with Psychic (supported by Priestess and Engineer), hit the dragons a lot, move on. The 2nd room doesn’t help you, so just kill the cyclopses as fast as you can. In the 3rd room, assuming you have enough power to kill the front-most necromancers, kill them, this IS required. If you don’t have the power, try to defeat as many runes as possible. The reccomended way for this route is swapping between Priestess and Psychic for attacks before they can heal them. This is a WAY longer route and is NOT reccomended. Take on 1 necromancer at a time. Before killing the dragons, remove the orbs with Psychic, constantly giving attacks with Priestess. Clean up with Spellblade.

THE AFTERMATH
At first, I was really against posting this, due to the risk of being called a cheater. After seeing how nice you all are, I posted this.

EXPLANATIONS
In the picture, Psychic has 450 speed, 2215 metabolism and 3750 capacity. Why? Well, for the speed, I was messing around with the code, removing the cap. It doesn’t give extra speed, it just slows down the adventurer. For meta and cap, I decided to prepare for later stages. Mostly because my Psychic also has 5k power. Hope this explains any concerns you may have.

Thank you for your time.

Wow that’s impressive, congratulations!

As for the poll, Druid was the winner! The top two will move onto the final poll

This is easily one of the most varied lineups yet. First place looks like it’s probably gonna be a brawl. Oddly, these designs mostly don’t feel like a “druid,” which is a surprise to me, but that’ll just make the poll more interesting because now we don’t have the question of whether it’ll swing in favor of familiar tropes.

  • Spider: We’ve seen monstergirls win before, but arachnophobia has never been a factor. Nonetheless, we already have a dark-skinned monster with no (human) legs, so it’s not a stretch to think this will do well. The Mesoamerican influence makes her stand out a lot, again evoking the Egyptian influence of the Illusionist.
  • Garden Spirit: Is this a good design? Yes. The use of different vegetables to form her body make her really unique. Will she win? I don’t expect her to. I think that she’s a lot less waifu-y than the rest, and ultimately, mass appeal seems to win in these votes. That being said, she’s definitely got enough charm to deserve the spot.
  • Cactus: Frankly, I’m not concerned about the design so much as the logistics of fondling beeg tumby covered in spines. Anyway, she looks good. The plant element may again turn voters away, but may it never be said that she’s ugly.
  • Elementalist: Pretty straightforward. There’s not much to say other than, well, it’s a good design and it works. I can see her winning easily, although I don’t think I’ve ever called the winner once, thereby raising the question of what value these posts have…uh, fat chicks, am I right?
  • Miko: I can practically smell the “ara ara” from here. Even if she weren’t so damn tall, look at that face. If enough of the voters fall for the mommy vibes, the average height of the cast is going to shoot up. I just don’t want her to headbutt me…
  • Brain Freeze: Aren’t fat people in winter suits supposed to be jolly? Anyway, that coat’s the only real obstacle to victory here. She’s quirky and silly in a good way, but I think most players want to be able to see revealing clothes stretch out as the girls get fat. It’d be hard to keep track of all her fluff beneath all that actual fluff. Then again, it’s that time of year, so who knows, maybe the voters are in the mood.
  • Dragon Tamer: HOLY [cungadero]! TWO [fat-bottomed girls] FOR THE PRICE OF [your firstborn]?? The actual character herself is…well, probably the most intimidating design thus submitted for any contest. That probably doesn’t matter, I’m just pointing it out. I don’t think the profile view does her justice, I think that the outfit will be fun with regards to her expansion because it doesn’t look too secure, so we may get to watch her struggle to stay decent as she gains. But then…there’s Dimi. The smol. We got beeg dragon girl, we got smol. Take your pick, I guess. If Dimi gets fat alongside her master, that opens up a myriad of potential directions for what happens in the art. Does she get so fat, she eclipses her master, who now has to carry her around? Does the little dragon get trapped under her companion? Only time will tell. Well, that and whether or not this design wins.

Woah this game is still getting new characters. Is there a playthrough of this game anywhere? I wanna see all the stuff that’s getting added

I heard the idea for Brain Freeze was that she was bundled up because her cold powers made her really cold, and that more insulation would warm her up, causing her to shed layers.

That’s a fun idea. We’ll see how it plays out. Even if she loses, she could still be an NPC, so maybe we’ll see this idea come to life in some form or another.

Can confirm this is the case.

Also;
Miko 26
Spider 18
Elementalist 13
Dragon Tamer 12

And I think I’ve officially had it. I’m done, none of the poll results make sense to me and I’m tired of being disappointed.

My pick will be Miko because I like Alarune to win this one because the dragon which she made won the last one.

I’m honestly excited for the next update. The barbarian looks very nice, as does the trickster, and although I dislike male characters, I can say they look rather dapper.

But I do have an issue, and that is really low resolution due to an odd error on the mobile version.

Not sure if it is an error at all, or if its just odd aspect ratios, but my mobile device has a 2340 x 1080 display, so maybe thats why this is happening?

Still tho, aside from the bug report, super excited for the barbarian and the trickster. Especially barbarian, the design hits all the right neurons.

I really need to revisit how the game handles Mobile I think right now just fits horizontally without taking into account the aspect ratio

In other news, the Miko will be our Druid!
